Chapter 1242 Truth to 5th level Concept
Chapter 1242 Truth to 5th level Concept
"What intel were you talking about?" Lucien asked, his tone calm but undeniably tense.
Max took a slow breath before answering. His voice grew heavier with each word.
"The demons are planning to summon a Demon General," Max said. "From what I gathered, this Demon General isn't from Acaris or any mortal world. He belongs to the demonic army in the Divine Realm itself. If they succeed in summoning him, his strength will be far beyond anything this world can handle."
Lucien's expression darkened.
Max continued, "Their plan is to use this Demon General's power to melt the mortal world. They want to liquefy the landmass of Acaris and use the essence released to locate a drop of the True Origin Devil Blood. They want to obtain it before the entire world gets devoured by—"
He stopped abruptly.
He met Lucien's eyes.
Lucien understood instantly.
"Devoured by that calamitous spirit?" Lucien completed his sentence. His voice carried the weight of cold realization. "Freya warned me about this earlier. She didn't tell me the exact details, but her expression told me enough."
He shook his head slowly, helplessness flickering behind his eyes.
"It is depressing for this world," Lucien said quietly. "First the nulls and Mark. Then the demons became a plague. Now a calamity capable of devouring entire worlds awakens right here. And on top of all this, the demons want to summon a Demon General from the Divine Realm…"
He looked out at the distant horizon, as if trying to see the fate of Acaris written in the sky.
"I don't know what will become of this world," Lucien admitted. "Every time we think we've reached the worst disaster possible, something even more catastrophic appears. It feels as if the fate of this mortal world is already sealed."
Silence wrapped around them for a while.
A heavy silence that made the air feel colder.
Max had no words to answer that grief-filled truth. Even he felt, deep within, that this world was cursed. Too many disasters. Too many catastrophes unfolding together. Too many futures collapsing at once. For any ordinary world, even one calamity was enough to destroy everything. Yet Acaris carried several on its shoulders, each one powerful enough to erase continents.
Humanity could barely handle one.
Let alone all of them.
"If the crownbearer of this world wasn't corrupted… maybe this world would have had a chance," Lucien said softly.
Max remained silent. He did not disagree.
After a moment he finally spoke. "I'll be training in the Tower of Truth for the next three months. When the time comes to unseal the second soul, I'll be there."
Lucien nodded and turned to leave. But before he vanished, Max suddenly asked:
"By the way… have you mastered any concept to the fifth level?"
Lucien paused. A faint smile touched his lips as if he already understood the reason behind the question.
"Fifth level concept?" he repeated. "I see what you're planning."
He nodded to himself.
"Yes, I have mastered one concept to the fifth level. My concept of dream." His eyes reflected a strange depth for a moment. "I won't go into details about how that concept ties into my powers, but I can tell you this… due to the broken ascension tunnel, due to the destroyed spatial domain of this world, the laws here are incomplete."
He looked toward the sky as if observing something invisible.
"If the ascension tunnel hadn't been destroyed, the link to the Divine Realm would have kept the laws of this world stable. Concepts would still function correctly. But now… the laws are fractured, malformed, barely holding together. Under these conditions, reaching the fifth level of any concept is almost impossible."
Lucien lowered his gaze back to Max.
"At least for most people."
A faint smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.
"But not for us."
Max raised an eyebrow. "Us?"
Lucien's smile widened. "Yes. By 'us,' I mean beings who are blessed by this world. People whose potential does not belong to the mortal level. People who push against the world's limits simply by existing."
He stepped closer.
"And you, Max… you are just like me. Someone whose talent and power exceed what a mortal world can contain. Someone chosen—whether by fate or by chaos—to surpass the limits of this realm."
He pointed toward Max's chest.
"That means you might be able to comprehend a fifth-level concept. It won't be easy. It won't be smooth. And the world itself will fight against you."
Lucien's voice deepened.
"But it is possible for you. Your potential is that high."
Max nodded quietly. That was all he needed—confirmation. If Lucien had been unable to comprehend even a single fifth-level concept, then Max would have carried a seed of doubt in his heart. That single doubt could have become poison later. A hesitation like that could slow him down, trap him, or even prevent him from reaching the fifth level entirely.
Now that doubt was gone.
Lucien's achievement proved it was possible. Difficult, but possible.
Max thought of the words he had heard from countless elders and leaders. Every one of them had said the same thing:
The fourth level was the absolute limit of this world.
The laws were broken. The ascension tunnel was gone. The connection to the Divine Realm had been severed. The world's laws were damaged beyond repair.
Because of this, no matter how talented these beings were, not a single one of them had been able to cross that boundary for thousands of years. They had cultivated endlessly, studied concepts endlessly, meditated in isolation endlessly… only to touch a wall that refused to move.
Not one success.
It showed just how impossible the fifth level was for the people of Acaris.
But Max was not bound by the same limits. Nor was Lucien. Nor was Freya.
This world rejected them, feared them, and yet relied on them.
And because of that, they stood above its limits.
"Alright, I will be going," Lucien said. His voice echoed faintly in the wind.
Then his figure disappeared, fading like mist.
Max closed his eyes for a moment and calmed his breathing. He pushed away every distraction—the demons, the devouring spirit, the world's fate, Mark, everything. For now, one goal mattered more than anything:
Comprehending the fifth level concept.
In the silence of that resolve, Max's body flickered.
A breath later, he appeared inside the deepest secret chamber of the Tower of Truth.
