Chapter 1245 Connection of space and time
Chapter 1245 Connection of space and time
The concept of space and the concept of time were housed in separate soul-bodies.
Time belonged to his Time Body. Space belonged to his Main Body.
The pathways were separate. The laws were separate. The cultivation routes were separate.
He had severed time only from the one body that cultivated time. The other should not have been affected at all.
So why…?
Why was space being dragged down by a decision made in the path of time?
He clenched his fists.
He severed the flow of time to avoid the law of causality from interfering with his comprehension of the temporal path. That decision had been correct. Necessary. It is what allowed him to comprehend the concept of time.
But now it was hindering him.
"Why? Space and time are different…" Max muttered. "Different bodies. Different laws. Why is one influencing the other?"
The chamber around him remained silent, but Max could not ignore the suspicion growing in his mind.
Maybe the answer was simple.
Maybe the world was broken.
The laws were incomplete. The flow of space and time was fractured. Nothing behaved as it should.
And if the world itself was damaged… then the interactions between concepts would be unpredictable.
Max pondered for a long while, letting countless thoughts circle through his mind like drifting stars. Nothing made sense. Nothing matched the logic he knew. Until a single idea surfaced.
A risky one. A strange one. But worth testing.
He opened his eyes.
"Let's try something."
Swish!
With a single thought, a ripple passed through the Dimension of Spirit.
His temporal clone emerged from within—stepping out of the temporal layer like a reflection made solid—and sat down directly across from him. Both of them sat cross-legged, facing each other in perfect symmetry.
The two pairs of eyes met.
Their senses overlapped instantly.
Their minds aligned without effort.
"Damn…" Max's original body muttered softly. "The combined perspective I get from both my original self and my temporal body is insane."
The temporal clone smirked faintly. "It definitely is."
Max couldn't help but smile.
It felt like holding a ball in one hand… and simultaneously feeling it in the other hand. Two different bodies, two different existences, yet one consciousness flowing between them smoothly.
"Alright," the original body said, voice calm and determined. "It's time to test the theory I have."
He closed his eyes once more and focused on the sphere of comprehension—the seed of the fifth-level Concept of Space left behind by the Void Monarch. He pulled it toward him. He let it hover in his mind. He pushed his awareness into it, trying to stabilize it.
At that exact same moment, the temporal clone also closed its eyes.
The clone began comprehending the fifth-level Concept of Time.
Unlike space, time flowed naturally through the clone's existence. Time had been its very foundation since the day it was born. It had awakened with the essence of an entire world fused into it, along with Max's soul and the pure flow of temporal laws. Because of that, it had already pushed the Concept of Time to the fourth level long ago without suffering the same hindrances Max's main body faced.
The reason for its super fast comprehension speed was simple. The fusion of the entire planet essence which was still in its embryo form and Max's flow of time created a vessel which was perfect for time laws.
Because of this, for the clone, comprehending a concept—even one at the fifth level—was not difficult. It was merely the next logical step in its path.
And so…
Two bodies.
Two laws.
Two comprehensions occurring simultaneously.
Yet one mind watching both.
The original pushed toward Spatial Dominion. The clone pushed toward Temporal Dominion.
And slowly… Max felt the strange link between them become clearer.
Clearer than ever before.
As the link between his original body and temporal clone grew clearer, Max felt something shift—something subtle yet profound. It was as if a veil had been lifted.
Suddenly, his perception of space expanded. His senses sharpened. His understanding deepened in ways he had never experienced before.
The sphere of comprehension no longer felt distant and vague. It felt closer. Clearer. Almost within reach.
His grasp of the concept of space felt as though it had multiplied countless times. Every thread of spatial law inside the sphere trembled under his awareness, no longer blurring or fading as it did before. It was responding to him naturally, harmonizing with him through the connection he shared with the temporal clone.
But that clarity came at a terrifying cost.
Max had to divide his mind perfectly.
The original body was comprehending the Fifth-Level Concept of Space. The temporal clone was comprehending the Fifth-Level Concept of Time. Both were doing it simultaneously. And both belonged to him.
He had to maintain total separation between the two.
If even a single strand of spatial comprehension slipped into the temporal path… If even a single thread of temporal law contaminated the spatial path…
The Law of Causality would hit him like a cosmic hammer.
"It's like writing a letter with one hand while drawing a complex picture with the other," Max thought grimly. "But the difficulty is on a cosmic scale."
He felt the pressure building on his soul. He felt the strain of keeping two minds perfectly separate yet perfectly synchronized. He felt the weight of balancing two impossible tasks at once.
If his control faltered even for a moment, he would crumble.
Max tightened his focus.
He was fortunate—extremely fortunate—that his soul was at the level of the Black Soul. Its stability, depth, and resilience allowed him to maintain the dual mental processes without breaking apart. Even more fortunate was the precision he had developed through his rune brush mastery.
That mastery gave him absolute control.
Control over intention. Control over thought. Control over soul-separation.
Without those foundations, he doubted he would be alive attempting this.
Most beings in existence would collapse under such pressure. Most would lose themselves to madness. Most would never even attempt comprehending two fifth-level concepts at the same time.
Max grit his teeth and poured all his focus into maintaining the balance.
Two bodies. Two minds. Two concepts. One soul.
And with each passing moment, the link between space and time grew clearer…
And the path toward reaching the Fifth Level became more visible than ever before.
