Chapter 1362 Lord's Mansion

Chapter 1362  Lord's Mansion

Some distance away from the Divine Colosseum lay a quiet forest, its tall trees forming a natural barrier that concealed a clearing within. In that open space rested a massive structure resembling a space shuttle, its sleek metallic surface faintly reflecting the ambient light as streams of divine essence drifted lazily through the air.

The shuttle stood there silently, yet its presence alone carried an imposing sense of authority and advanced technology far beyond anything seen in the mortal realms.

Lord Arckin descended from the sky with Max, landing smoothly before the shuttle as if the ground itself welcomed his arrival. Waiting nearby was his subordinate, standing straight and alert, clearly having prepared everything in advance.

"You did well, Max," Lord Arckin said as soon as they landed, a satisfied smile spreading across his face. "Defeating a gladiator raised by the Heron Family is no small feat, yet you accomplished it with such ease. That alone speaks volumes about your strength." He laughed lightly, clearly pleased with what he had witnessed.

"Thank you," Max replied sincerely, then hesitated before asking, his curiosity finally surfacing. "But who are you exactly?" He had been saved at the most critical moment by this man, yet until now, he did not even know his identity.

Lord Arckin smiled at the question. "Lady Virelia sent me to pick you up," he said calmly.

"She did?" Max's expression brightened instantly, relief washing over him as a genuine smile appeared on his face.

A lingering worry he had been carrying vanished in that moment, because he had feared that she might not know he was trapped in the Divine Colosseum and would not arrive in time.

Lord Arckin nodded. "She did. And that is why we need to leave this planet immediately. It is no longer safe for you here." With that, he gestured toward the shuttle, and together with his subordinate, guided Max inside.

As the shuttle lifted off and the forest slowly disappeared beneath them, Max looked around the interior in amazement. The space was refined and smooth, filled with unfamiliar instruments and glowing arrays that hummed softly with restrained power.

"This is?" Max asked, comparing it instinctively to the void shuttle he had once seen back in Acaris, though he knew that such a vessel would never function properly in a place saturated with divine essence.

"This is a Star Shuttle," Lord Arckin replied with a smile. "It is one of the most common means of travel in the Divine Realm. Nearly everyone owns one. Without it, traveling between planets would take an unbearably long time, even for powerful cultivators."

"I see," Max said, nodding in understanding as the shuttle accelerated forward, carrying him away from the Divine Colosseum and toward a future that felt both uncertain and full of promise.

"Alright, sit down and let me explain some of the common things about the Divine Realm before we reach our destination," Lord Arckin said calmly as the Star Shuttle continued to glide through the vast expanse ahead of them.

Max nodded and took a seat among the many arranged within the shuttle, his posture relaxed yet attentive as he listened closely. Lord Arckin stood nearby, his hands clasped behind his back as he began speaking in a steady tone.

"The planet you ascended to is called an Ascension Planet. There are thousands of such planets spread throughout the Divine Realm," he said with a faint smile. "Their purpose is simple yet crucial. These planets exist to allow mortals to gradually adapt to the pressure and the density of Divine Essence in the Divine Realm. That is why every newly ascended mortal arrives at an Ascension Planet instead of being sent directly to other planets, which would be far too overwhelming."

He paused briefly, then let out a long sigh as his expression turned slightly serious. "Unfortunately for you, the Ascension Planet you arrived at is under the control of the Heron Family. Because of that, it took me some time to locate you. If you had ascended to an Ascension Planet owned by the Grims Family, everything would have been much simpler, both for you and for me."

Max nodded slowly, absorbing the information before asking, "Where are we heading now?"

"For now, we are traveling to an Ascension Planet governed by the Grims Family," Lord Arckin replied with a reassuring smile. "Once we arrive there and Lady Virelia joins us, she will personally take you to the Black Dragon Palace so that you can officially become a disciple."

Max nodded again, a sense of clarity settling in his heart. His first objective in the Divine Realm had always been to secure a powerful backing, and with Lady Virelia and the Grims Family behind him, that goal was finally within reach.

'I need to grow stronger, and quickly,' he thought silently, his gaze drifting toward the distant stars beyond the shuttle's window. 'Mother and father must still be waiting for me. And those elves… I will destroy them.'

Soon after, the Star Shuttle descended onto one of the many Ascension Planets governed by the Grims Family, its atmosphere calm and orderly, far removed from the suffocating tension of the Divine Colosseum.

The planet itself felt stable and dignified, the density of Divine Essence evenly spread and far more harmonious than what Max had experienced before.

Lord Arckin, who clearly held absolute authority here, did not waste time with formalities and brought Max straight to his mansion, a vast structure that stood at the center of the region like an unquestionable seat of power.

"Stay here in this mansion for now and treat it as your home," Lord Arckin said as he settled into his throne with a relaxed posture that still carried unquestionable authority. "There is an academy not far from here known as the Warrior Academy. You may visit it and familiarize yourself with the place while you wait for Lady Virelia to arrive."

The hall they stood in resembled the court of a king, yet it surpassed anything Max had seen before, with towering pillars, intricate patterns etched into the walls, and an atmosphere that radiated both wealth and strength.

"Ron, take him to his room," Lord Arckin ordered, turning his attention briefly toward the subordinate standing nearby.

"Yes, my lord," Ron replied respectfully before looking toward Max.

Max nodded in response and followed Ron out of the grand hall, leaving Lord Arckin seated upon his throne. Once Max had departed, Lord Arckin shifted his gaze toward another subordinate who remained behind.

Among all those who served him, there were only two people he trusted without reservation. Ron was the one who accompanied him wherever he went, while the man standing before him was responsible for overseeing the entire mansion and managing its affairs whenever Lord Arckin was away. His name was Shuko.

"Shuko, go and find Adam," Lord Arckin said calmly, resting one arm against the side of his throne.

"Adam?" Shuko asked, a hint of curiosity appearing in his eyes. "For what purpose, my lord?"
