Chapter 1399 Testing the New Inheritance Technique!
Chapter 1399 Testing the New Inheritance Technique!
"True disciple?" Max asked, a hint of curiosity appearing in his eyes. "I thought the Black Dragon Palace only had outer disciples, inner disciples, and core disciples. What exactly are true disciples?"
Lady Virelia looked at him calmly, clearly expecting the question. "True Disciples are the strongest and most valued disciples of the Black Dragon Palace," she explained in a measured tone. "Whether it is the Black Dragon Palace itself or the Black Dragon Clan as a whole, all available resources are poured into the cultivation and growth of these individuals. They are not treated as ordinary disciples, but as future pillars of the clan."
She continued, her voice carrying a quiet authority. "Whenever there is a grand tournament, a large scale competition, or a confrontation between star realms, only true disciples are sent to represent the Black Dragon Palace. They carry the honor, reputation, and future of the entire clan on their shoulders. From this alone, you should be able to understand the importance we place on true disciples."
Max nodded slowly as the meaning sank in. True Disciples were not merely stronger disciples, but existences carefully nurtured to stand at the very forefront of the Divine Realm. They were the peak geniuses of the Black Dragon Palace, individuals capable of contending with the strongest talents of other third rate star realms and even challenging many geniuses from second rate star realms. To be acknowledged as a true disciple was to be recognized as one of the true pillars of the Black Dragon Palace.
"Alright, I have told you everything you need to know," Lady Virelia said calmly, bringing the conversation to a close. "The Thirty Six Hall Grand Trial will begin in one month. I believe this is sufficient time for you to advance into the Rebirth Realm. Once you do, focus on stabilizing your strength at that level and then wait for the trial to begin."
Max nodded again, his resolve firm.
"You are dismissed," Lady Virelia said.
Max stood up respectfully and left her office, his steps steady as his mind was already turning toward the month of cultivation and preparation that lay ahead.
With Carl leading the way, Max returned to the Thirty Third Hall and soon arrived at his own quarters. After expressing his thanks to Senior Brother Carl, he closed the door behind him and stepped into the training chamber attached to his residence, the heavy doors sealing the outside world away.
Inside the training chamber, Max stood still for a moment, allowing his breathing to steady as his mind emptied of all distractions. When his thoughts finally settled into complete calm, he closed his eyes and spoke softly. "It is time to test the new inheritance technique I obtained from the Inheritance Chamber of the Dimension of Lightning."
He took a deep breath, and in the next instant, his body flashed with intense blue lightning. The lightning surged out of him in violent arcs, crackling through the air and illuminating the entire chamber with an electric glow.
Unlike before, Max did not allow the lightning to spread freely. Instead, he extended his will outward and began drawing every strand of blue lightning back toward himself. The lightning responded obediently, twisting and converging as it gathered before him like a living storm being dragged into a single point.
Max began the process of compression.
The vast mass of blue lightning condensed inward, shrinking steadily as the pressure within it increased. The crackling grew sharper and more violent, the sound changing from rolling thunder into a piercing, high pitched hum that vibrated through the chamber walls.
Max compressed it again, forcing the lightning to fold in on itself, layering its destructive energy tighter and tighter. The glow intensified, becoming blindingly bright as the lightning grew denser, its raw power no longer dispersing but being trapped within an ever shrinking space.
He compressed it again.
The lightning mass shrank further, the pressure within it rising to a terrifying degree. The air around it distorted visibly, bending and trembling as if it could barely endure the presence of such condensed energy.
Max's control remained absolute as he refined the shape, narrowing it bit by bit until the once expansive lightning storm transformed into a thin, elongated form.
Then he compressed it once more.
What remained was no longer a chaotic mass of lightning, but a single needle shaped construct of pure blue lightning. It was slender and precise, hovering silently before Max, yet the energy contained within it was so dense that it felt suffocating.
The surface of the lightning needle shimmered with a sharp, cold brilliance, and faint ripples of destructive force leaked from it despite Max's careful restraint.
The blue colored lightning needle overflowed with deadly energy. Every fraction of its form was packed with compressed lightning, refined to an extreme that bordered on the unimaginable. Max could feel it clearly.
If this needle were to be released without control, it would pierce through defenses as if they did not exist, drilling through flesh, bone, energy barriers, and even spatial layers with unstoppable momentum. The power contained within it was no longer explosive in nature, but absolute, focused entirely on destruction through penetration.
Max opened his eyes and stared at the lightning needle hovering before him. Even he felt a faint sense of danger radiating from it, a warning that this was not a technique meant for casual use.
The chamber itself seemed to recoil, faint scorch marks appearing on the reinforced walls as stray arcs of lightning escaped from the needle's surface. It was a weapon forged entirely from compression and control, one that embodied lethality in its purest form.
"This is dangerous," Max murmured quietly, a hint of satisfaction entering his voice. He could already imagine the outcome if this lightning needle were unleashed in battle. Against most opponents, it would not merely wound or suppress. It would end everything in a single decisive strike.
"But I am not done," Max said with a faint smile as red colored lightning began to dance around his body, its presence far more violent and domineering than the blue lightning he had just compressed.
