Chapter 1487 Empress Luna

Chapter 1487  Empress Luna

As Max defeated the warrior on the ninetieth floor, the arena around him slowly dissolved into streams of light before reconstructing once again. The familiar sensation of the Combat Tower shifting its environment surrounded him, and in the next moment Max stepped onto the ninety first floor.

The new battlefield formed beneath his feet as silent winds swept through the empty space, signaling the arrival of the next challenge.

Outside the tower, the atmosphere among the spectators had grown tense and focused. Everyone's eyes were fixed on the projections that displayed Max's figure within the Combat Tower.

The elders and the seven family heads in particular watched with unwavering attention. None of them wanted to miss even the slightest detail of what would happen next.

The ninety first floor carried a special meaning for the Black Dragon Clan.

It represented the highest floor that any disciple of their clan had ever managed to reach since the creation of the Combat Legion Tower. Over countless years, many talented disciples had attempted to push beyond their limits within the tower. Some of them had managed to step onto the ninety first floor, proving their extraordinary potential and combat ability.

However, none of them had succeeded in defeating the warrior guarding this level. Because of that, the ninety first floor remained the ultimate boundary that the disciples of the Black Dragon Clan had been able to touch but never conquer.

"You said this floor was the highest floor your clan has ever reached, right?" Joe said as he looked toward the seven family heads. His voice carried a tone of calm certainty. "Well, congratulations. That record is about to be broken. From what I can see through Max's strength, he will not stop until he reaches the ninety eighth floor. That is the only hurdle I can think of which Max might not be able to cross."

Hearing those words, the seven family heads exchanged glances filled with excitement. Although they had been confident in Max from the very beginning, witnessing his overwhelming performance inside the tower still exceeded their expectations.

Watching him ascend floor after floor with unstoppable momentum stirred a powerful sense of anticipation within them. They had expected him to reach great heights, yet seeing him stand on the ninety first floor in reality still brought a surge of surprise along with their growing excitement.

The Combat Legion Tower had been specially designed to test disciples who were within the Rebirth Realm. Its trials were perfectly balanced to challenge warriors at that stage of cultivation, which meant the difficulty rose sharply at the higher floors.

Because of this, no disciple from the Black Dragon Clan had ever managed to move beyond the ninety first floor. The warriors guarding those levels represented a barrier that none of their talents had been able to overcome.

Now, however, Max stood on the threshold of that very barrier.

The possibility that he might break through a record that had stood unchallenged for generations caused the tension among the elders and family heads to rise. Their gazes remained fixed on the projection as they waited for the next warrior of the Combat Tower to appear before him.

Soon the warrior guarding the ninety first floor revealed herself.

A soft glow gathered at the center of the arena and a figure slowly formed within the light. When the radiance faded, a woman stood before Max. She appeared to be a mature woman with long flowing red hair that reached down her back. Her face was strikingly beautiful and carried a calm confidence that seemed almost regal. Her posture was relaxed as she looked at Max with curious eyes.

"Hmm, look at you little kid making this far into the Combat Tower with your little strength," the woman said softly. Her voice carried a faint hint of surprise as she observed him.

"Let's fight," Max replied without hesitation as he gripped his sword firmly.

"Hoho, what is the hurry?" the woman laughed lightly. Her tone carried a playful charm as she spoke. "As far as I recall, nobody from this Black Dragon Clan has ever defeated me. Since that is the case, why do we not take our time to know each other first? Perhaps if you impress me here, the real me might even come to recruit you."

Max raised one of his brows slightly when he heard those words. He had not expected the warrior before him to speak with such awareness about the outside world. The earlier warriors he had fought carried fragments of consciousness, yet none of them displayed this level of personality or freedom in thought.

'It seems the last ten floors are fundamentally different from the rest,' Max thought quietly as he examined the woman before him. The behavior of the warrior standing here confirmed his suspicion. The warriors guarding the final floors appeared to retain far greater independence compared to the fragments that appeared on the lower levels.

Outside the tower, Victor Veron's expression turned solemn the moment the woman appeared on the projection.

"Here she is," Victor said slowly while staring at the screen. "She calls herself Empress Luna. I do not know if such an empress truly exists in the Divine Realm, but since this is a soul fragment there should be a real person behind it. This Empress Luna has long been an obstacle for our clan. Every time she appears she only releases three arrows, yet no one has ever survived beyond the second arrow."

Joe listened while watching the projection and then smiled faintly.

"In my Violet Star Palace, our disciples have also suffered against her, but there were still quite a few who managed to defeat her after surviving the third arrow," Joe said with clear pride in his tone. "The masters of the last ten floors are all legendary figures scattered across the vast Divine Realm. Each one represents a terrifying expert from some powerful background. Especially the final three floors, those warriors are truly monstrous."

His gaze returned to the screen as he continued speaking.

"I think this Empress Luna should be some high level figure from a second rate force, or perhaps even from a first rate one."
