Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100

Chapter 1496 A Battle with Mother - 2

Chapter 1496  A Battle with Mother - 2

At this moment Max's face had turned completely solemn.

Between the instant the giant sword of black flames collided with the incoming beam of golden light and the present moment where the golden sword was pressed between his hands, several things had happened in rapid succession.

The entire sequence had unfolded so quickly that even with his heightened perception through the Dimensional Sovereign Body, Max had barely managed to react.

The first event was the sudden appearance of his mother.

The moment the explosion between the golden beam and his black flaming sword erupted, the battlefield had been consumed by a violent storm of black flames and golden light. The clash had distorted the air and shattered the ground beneath them, creating a chaotic veil of energy that obscured everything within it.

Yet she had moved through that explosion as though it were nothing.

Through the raging storm of energy, her figure flashed forward clad in armor formed from pure golden light. The armor radiated a sacred brilliance that pushed aside the surrounding flames as she advanced. In her hand she carried the golden sword that shone with terrifying sharpness.

She had cut directly through the explosion itself.

When Max sensed her presence approaching through the chaos, he had not felt immediate alarm. After all, he was still protected by the Black Tortoise Divine Beast formed from his black flames.

That manifestation represented the defensive aspect of the Four Divine Beasts inheritance and had already proven capable of blocking the rain of golden swords earlier.

Max had been prepared to react the moment she appeared.

His mind had already begun forming the next manifestation of his black flames. He had intended to release another transformation from the Four Divine Beasts Manifestation inheritance and counterattack the moment she stepped within range.

But something happened in that brief instant that completely shocked him.

As she emerged from the fading explosion, her golden sword descended.

The blade moved with terrifying precision.

When the sword struck the Black Tortoise Divine Beast, the massive flaming construct that had previously withstood countless attacks was split apart instantly. The golden blade cut through the thick shell of black flames as though it were slicing through ordinary air.

The enormous tortoise formed from Max's flames was cleaved cleanly into two halves.

Even the black flames themselves were divided by that single strike.

The moment the shell of the divine beast collapsed, Max's heart trembled with alarm. Before he could fully process what had just happened, his mother's sword moved again.

Her second strike followed immediately.

The golden blade swept through the battlefield and unleashed a wave of radiant power that scattered the remaining black flames. The dark fire that had surrounded Max moments ago was blown away by the force of her sword, leaving him suddenly exposed.

Seeing the golden blade rushing toward him with unstoppable momentum, Max had no time to summon another defense.

In that split second he reacted instinctively.

He brought both of his hands together and caught the sword directly between his palms. The powerful force behind the blade pushed him backward slightly as the edge of the sword stopped just before reaching his chest.

Now he stood there holding the golden sword between his hands while his mother stood beside him in her shining armor.

"You are also physically very strong," his mother said at that moment as she looked at Max with clear surprise in her eyes. Her golden sword was pressed firmly between his two bare hands, yet despite the immense force she had placed behind the strike, the blade had not advanced any further.

The strength he displayed by blocking the sword with nothing but his hands was something she had not expected.

Max, however, paid little attention to her words.

"What I want to know is something else," he said with a serious expression. "How did your golden sword cut through the Black Tortoise I formed from my black flames so easily? It even blew away my black flames completely."

His question carried genuine confusion. The black flames had always been one of the most dominant powers he possessed.

Ever since he got his bloodline, the flames had devoured and suppressed almost everything they came into contact with. Seeing them split apart and scattered so effortlessly had shaken his understanding of their power.

His mother smiled faintly after hearing his question.

"I am a princess of the Elven race," she explained calmly. "My bloodline is not ordinary. The light constructs created through my Heavenly Luminance Sacred Bloodline possess the ability to suppress and nullify most dark elemental constructs."

She gestured slightly with the golden sword as she continued speaking.

"That includes abilities like the black flame constructs you just used or even the black flames themselves."

Her tone remained relaxed as she elaborated further.

"You should know the principle that light suppresses darkness. It is the same concept here. My bloodline amplifies that natural suppression. When my light constructs come into contact with dark elemental abilities, they naturally break them apart."

Max frowned slightly as he listened to her explanation.

He had not expected the situation to be like this.

Since the moment he had found his bloodline and gained control over the black flames, they had always been an unstoppable force in battle. Those flames devoured energy, destroyed techniques, and overwhelmed most forms of defense. In every encounter they had proven themselves to be nearly impossible to suppress.

Yet now he had witnessed something completely different.

The golden light born from his mother's bloodline had split through his black flames as though they were nothing more than ordinary fire.

The realization made Max understand something important.

The Divine Realm was far more vast and complex than he had imagined. There were countless bloodlines, countless inheritances, and countless powers scattered across its endless territories.

There would always exist something capable of countering another power.

'I need to evolve my bloodline to the highest tier as soon as possible,' Max thought as determination appeared in his eyes.

The urge to strengthen his bloodline suddenly became far more urgent in his heart. Seeing that his black flames were not truly invincible had awakened a deeper sense of resolve within him.

If there were powers capable of suppressing his flames now, then he would simply raise his bloodline to a level where nothing in the Divine Realm could easily suppress it again.
