Chapter 1507 Conflict with Primordials?
Chapter 1507 Conflict with Primordials?
The old man snorted lightly as though recalling something unpleasant.
"I have some unresolved grievances with the primordials," he said.
His tone carried clear dissatisfaction.
"They may be the strongest race in this universe, but they are also among the most arrogant beings I have ever encountered."
The old man crossed his arms slightly as he continued speaking.
"In the past I had several dealings with them. Every single one of those exchanges ended with me suffering losses in one way or another. Their pride and their sense of superiority made cooperation extremely unpleasant."
He shook his head.
"Because of that, I would rather give my inheritance to anyone in this universe than to a primordial."
Max listened quietly as the old man continued.
"There is also another reason," the old man added. "From what I know, the Primordial Race already possesses a partial version of my inheritance."
He emphasized the words carefully.
"A half baked version of it."
"Because of that alone, there was no reason for me to hand over the complete inheritance to them."
The old man's gaze shifted toward the tools and books scattered around the room.
Then he continued speaking in a slower tone.
"However the main reason goes even deeper than that."
"All the work I devoted my life to revolves around the path of body cultivation."
Max's attention sharpened when he heard those words.
The old man's expression gradually became more serious as he continued speaking.
"The Primordial Race does not value the path of body cultivation," he said slowly. "In fact they openly look down on it."
"They believe that the path of refining the body is crude and incomplete."
As he spoke those words, the old man slowly shook his head as though recalling a long history of disappointment.
"The reason they hold such a view is not entirely without reason," he continued. "The true path of body cultivation was lost a very long time ago."
His gaze shifted briefly toward the shelves filled with ancient books that surrounded them.
"In the distant past there once existed complete systems of cultivation dedicated entirely to strengthening the physical body. Those systems were governed by powerful laws that allowed cultivators to refine their flesh, bones, blood, and organs to unimaginable levels."
He paused for a moment before continuing.
"However over the countless years that followed, those ancient techniques slowly disappeared. Wars between powerful forces destroyed entire civilizations. Many ancient inheritances were lost or fragmented. The great masters who once understood the body cultivation path vanished from history."
The old man's voice became heavier.
"Even the fundamental laws governing body cultivation gradually faded away from the universe."
Max listened carefully as the old man continued explaining.
"Because of this loss, no being within the entire Divine Realm has been able to fully walk the true body cultivation path for countless ages."
The old man raised a finger slightly as he emphasized the next point.
"In theory, the body cultivation system is built around the Seven Divine Veins within the body. Opening those veins allows a cultivator to awaken the hidden potential of their physical existence."
"But due to the disappearance of the ancient laws and techniques, that path has been crippled."
His eyes grew slightly sharper.
"In the present era it is almost impossible for anyone to advance beyond the Seven Divine Veins properly."
He paused before clarifying.
"In fact, even reaching the higher veins has become nearly impossible."
"The absolute limit that anyone has been able to reach in this era is the fourth divine vein."
The old man spoke those words with clear certainty.
"And even that achievement belongs only to the Primordial Race."
Max's eyes narrowed slightly as he absorbed that information.
"Beyond the fourth divine vein," the old man continued, "no one has succeeded since ancient times. The loss of the body cultivation laws made further progress impossible."
He slowly shook his head again.
"That is why the modern understanding of body cultivation is incomplete."
"The primordials observe this incomplete path and conclude that the entire system itself is flawed."
A faint spark of pride suddenly appeared within the old man's eyes.
"But they are wrong."
He raised his hand and gestured toward the countless books, instruments, and tools that filled the chamber.
"Everything you see here is the result of my life's work."
"For countless years I devoted myself to studying the remnants of the ancient body cultivation path. I searched through forgotten ruins, deciphered lost scriptures, and reconstructed fragments of knowledge that had been scattered across history."
His voice carried quiet conviction.
"Step by step I pieced together the missing foundations of that lost path."
The old man looked directly at Max.
"My inheritance represents the result of that effort."
"It is entirely built upon the reconstructed path of body cultivation."
"So you mean you have found a way to go beyond the Seven Divine Veins?" Max asked excitedly.
The thought alone caused a surge of anticipation to rise in his chest. Everything the old man had explained so far hinted that the lost body cultivation path might once again be restored.
However the old man slowly shook his head.
"If only it were that simple, kid," he replied with a faint sigh.
The old man then looked directly at Max with a calm yet probing gaze.
"Tell me something first," he said. "Do you want to inherit my work?"
Max did not hesitate even for a moment.
He nodded solemnly.
"I have already opened the first of the Seven Divine Veins," Max said firmly. "And I plan to open all seven of them."
His voice carried determination.
"During my journey I once saw a vision of ancient martial artists who could destroy stars with nothing more than the flick of their fingers."
Max's eyes gleamed faintly as he recalled that vision.
"I want my body to reach that level of strength and power one day."
The old man watched Max silently for a moment.
Then a slow smile appeared on his face.
"A body capable of destroying stars, you say."
He could clearly see the sincerity within Max's eyes. The hunger for strength within the young man was genuine and unrestrained. It was not simple arrogance or reckless ambition.
Max truly desired to reach that level of power.
