Chapter 1632 Suspicions of Lucia and Isabella!
Chapter 1632 Suspicions of Lucia and Isabella!
Following the assessment of the trial system, Max's figure disappeared from the trial ground and he appeared in a big square of the Violet Star Palace.
The surroundings were completely different, filled with towering structures and an ancient aura that carried immense authority. The Violet Star Palace stood in all its grandeur, its presence alone enough to make even the strongest feel insignificant.
Max remained still for a brief moment before his Dimensional Sovereign Body activated instinctively.
His perception spread outward, sweeping across the entire area.
He saw figures appearing at different intervals, each one materializing in flashes of light as more participants completed their trials and were transported here.
Some looked disoriented.
Some looked relieved.
Some looked unwilling to accept their results.
Max observed them quietly before withdrawing his perception.
A faint smile appeared on his face, subtle yet knowing.
"Looks like I am one of the few who completed the weapon master trial early," he muttered under his breath.
And so he began to wait.
Hours slipped by slowly, and the difference between those who had already completed the Weapon Master Trial and those still struggling inside became painfully clear.
The portals continued to flicker at irregular intervals, releasing participants one after another, each arrival carrying the weight of exhaustion or frustration.
Some staggered out with pale faces and trembling hands, while others clenched their fists in silent anger, clearly dissatisfied with their performance. The earlier excitement that had filled the square had long faded, replaced by a thick tension that pressed down on everyone present.
Max remained where he was, his posture relaxed, his breathing steady, as if the passing time meant nothing to him. His calm demeanor stood in stark contrast to the restless crowd around him, and yet he did not draw attention to himself.
He simply observed, quietly watching as the number of participants steadily increased.
After what felt like an eternity to many, two familiar figures finally emerged from their portals.
Lucia stepped out first, her expression composed but her eyes betraying a trace of fatigue. A faint sheen of sweat lingered on her forehead, and her grip on her spear tightened briefly before she exhaled and relaxed.
Not long after, Isabella appeared as well, her landing far more controlled, her posture straight and her aura sharp. Unlike Lucia, she showed no visible signs of exhaustion, yet the slight narrowing of her eyes suggested that the trial had not been entirely effortless even for her.
Both of them immediately noticed Max.
Lucia walked over first, her steps steady, her gaze fixed on him with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. Isabella followed without a word, her presence carrying a quiet pressure that caused nearby participants to instinctively give way.
Lucia stopped in front of Max and crossed her arms.
"How did it go?" She asked curiously.
"It was good." Max said smiling. "I was one of the few people who finished the trial early and came here hours ago."
Lucia's expression turned solemn hearing him.
"It took me hours to finish that trial," she said, her tone calm but probing. "And yet you have been standing here since the beginning. Do not tell me you barely passed."
Max looked at her, then at Isabella, who was already watching him closely, her sharp eyes searching for any hint of truth.
"Anyway, I scored 73." Lucia said about her score and asked Max and Isabella. "What about you two?"
"I scored 78." Isabella said sighing. "I couldn't fully master the sword art and so my results weren't that good." She sighed heavily.
"What about you Max?" Lucia then asked Max. Isabella also turned to look at him at this.
Max smiled wryly inwardly. What did he suppose to say that he got 120 score in the weapon master trial?
"I did good too." Max said vaguely.
Lucia's brows furrowed immediately.
"Good?" she repeated, her lips pressing into a thin line. "You are being vague on purpose."
Isabella let out a quiet breath, her gaze turning colder.
"The trial system gives a clear assessment," she said, her voice carrying a faint edge. "Why are you hiding your score from us?"
Max gave a faint smile, one that revealed nothing.
"Haha, why you two are so adamant about my score?" he shrugged calmly. "You will see my score once the rankings are announced."
Lucia stared at him for a few seconds longer, her suspicion deepening rather than fading.
"You are definitely hiding something." She said her eyes narrowing.
Max did not deny it, nor did he confirm it. His silence lingered just long enough to make the answer obvious without words.
Isabella's eyes narrowed further, and for a brief moment, a flicker of annoyance passed through her gaze.
"You finished early," she said. "That alone means your result is not ordinary. Yet you refuse to speak of it. Either you performed far better than expected, or something unusual happened inside."
Max shrugged slightly, his expression unchanged.
"Perhaps both," he said.
Lucia let out a quiet sigh, clearly frustrated.
"You are such an annoying guy sometimes," she muttered, though her eyes still lingered on him as if trying to peel away whatever he was hiding.
Before either of them could press further, a sudden shift in the air drew everyone's attention.
A powerful aura descended upon the square.
Elder Cael appeared in the sky above them, his figure standing tall as his gaze swept across the gathered participants. The moment he arrived, the murmurs in the crowd died down, replaced by a heavy silence filled with anticipation.
Without wasting a moment, Elder Cael raised his hand and pointed toward the massive screen that hovered high above the square.
"The Weapon Master Trial has concluded," he announced, his voice echoing clearly across the entire area. "All participants have now been evaluated by the trial system."
A faint glow began to spread across the screen.
"The rankings of every participant will now be displayed," he continued. "The top ten will receive rewards from the Violet Star Palace. The top three will receive greater rewards. And the one who stands at the peak will receive a special reward personally prepared."
The moment his words ended, the screen flickered to life.
Names began to appear rapidly, forming a long list that extended downward as more and more participants were revealed.
The crowd immediately stirred.
Eyes shot upward, scanning the rankings with urgency. Voices rose as people searched for their names, some filled with relief upon finding themselves in a decent position, while others grew visibly tense as they realized how far they had fallen behind.
Lucia's gaze sharpened as she scanned through the list, her focus unwavering. Isabella's eyes moved even faster, her expression calm but intense as she searched for her position.
The noise grew louder with every passing second.
Then suddenly, it broke.
