Chapter 1880: Take Care of It!
Chapter 1880: Take Care of It!
Aurelian’s expression finally broke.
"Shut up!"
The golden throne behind him shattered, and its fragments flew into his body. His aura condensed sharply into something unstable and terrifying.
"Heavenly Luminance Divine Dominion, Crownless Divine King."
The divine kingdom contracted around him. The sacred halls vanished, the radiant pillars compressed, and the endless sun became a burning crown at his back. All the authority of the dominion merged into his flesh, his spear, and his bloodline.
This was the state he had used against Damian, the form that turned him into a living weapon of divine judgment.
Aurelian appeared before Max in an instant.
"Crownless Divine King, Light That Judges All Blades."
A spear of condensed divine light lanced toward Max’s throat. Max did not draw Dragonheart. He raised his hand and caught the spear. The light exploded between his fingers, and then it simply disappeared.
Aurelian froze.
Max regarded him from a distance of only a few steps. "You still do not understand."
He squeezed, and the spear shattered. Aurelian stumbled back in shock, and Max followed calmly.
"Heavenly Luminance, Sacred Palm Seal."
Max’s palm struck Aurelian’s chest.
Boom!
Aurelian flew backward with golden-white blood spraying from his mouth, and he crashed into one of the remaining radiant pillars of his own dominion.
The audience erupted.
"Max used Heavenly Luminance to injure him!"
"Aurelian’s light cannot hurt Max, but Max’s light can hurt him!"
"What is happening?"
"Is Max’s Heavenly Luminance stronger?"
Aurelian struggled to his feet, and his eyes were no longer calm. The arrogance still lingered, but now it was tangled with confusion, fear, and disbelief.
Max kept walking toward him. "You were proud of this power," he said quietly. "But every time you use it, you only remind me of what I will take back."
Aurelian’s breath caught, because this time he understood the meaning completely, and his face drained of color. Max had not spoken loudly, and he had not exposed the truth for the world to hear.
The surrounding storm of golden-white light hid his words from most people, and the distortion of the dominion kept anyone else from hearing clearly. But Aurelian heard every word, and each one struck his mind harder than any fist.
Take back. That meant Max knew. Max knew what had been done, and he knew where the source remained. Max knew that the bloodline inside Aurelian had never truly been his.
Aurelian’s hands trembled, and he forced them still.
"No," he whispered.
Max’s eyes were cold. "Yes."
Aurelian roared and raised both hands.
"Crownless Divine King, Final Luminance Judgment."
The enormous divine sword of golden-white light took shape above him. This was the same attack Damian had cut apart, but this time Aurelian poured far more desperation into it.
His bloodline burned and his dominion shook, and the endless sun behind him dimmed as every scrap of its remaining authority flowed into the blade.
The divine sword descended.
Max looked up as golden-white light rose around his own body. He did not use a Pseudo Cosmic Path, for he did not yet possess a perfected light-based path of his own.
But he had the Dimension of Light, he had his almost fully reawakened Heavenly Luminance Divine Bloodline, and he held authority over the very light Aurelian was wielding.
Max raised his palm.
"Heavenly Luminance, First Dawn Reversal."
A quiet golden-white light spread from his hand. It did not clash violently against the Final Luminance Judgment. Instead, it seeped into the descending divine sword and disturbed the bloodline rhythm within it.
The massive blade shuddered. Its outer layer remained powerful, but its inner structure began to loosen, as though something inside it had recognized Max and ceased obeying Aurelian completely.
Aurelian’s eyes widened in horror. "No..."
Max’s palm closed, and the Final Luminance Judgment shattered from within. Fragments of divine light rained down around Max like broken glass. Aurelian stumbled backward as the Heavenly Luminance Divine Dominion flickered violently behind him.
Then Max appeared in front of him, and this time his palm stopped mere inches from Aurelian’s chest.
Aurelian froze, and the golden-white light around him shook uncontrollably.
Max looked into his eyes and spoke in a voice meant for him alone.
"Take care of my bloodline until then."
Aurelian’s face lost every trace of color. Max’s eyes remained calm, but the killing intent buried beneath that calm was so cold that Aurelian felt his very soul tighten.
"It will not be long before I come for it."
Aurelian’s lips parted, but no words emerged. In that moment, he no longer resembled the proud Divine Son who had stood above countless geniuses.
He looked like a man who had suddenly realized that the throne beneath him had been built over a pit, and that the owner of the pit had finally returned.
Max did not strike his heart. He could have, and he wanted to. But Angelina Valerius hovered above the stage, and the laws of the Eternal Hourglass tracked every movement.
If Max tried to kill Aurelian here, or attempted to extract the stolen bloodline source in front of everyone, Angelina would intervene at once.
Max was certain of it. Even if he could resist her for a moment, the risk was not worth taking. This was not the place, and this was not the time. He would wait until he had the right moment, the right ground, and the certainty to reclaim what was his without losing everything else.
So he did not kill him. He only pressed two fingers against Aurelian’s chest.
"Heavenly Luminance, Dawn Break."
Boom!
A controlled burst of golden-white light slammed into Aurelian’s body. His remaining dominion shattered, and the Crownless Divine King state collapsed.
Aurelian was hurled backward and crashed into the ground, rolling across the cracked stage before coming to rest near the edge of the arena. Golden-white blood stained his lips while his aura guttered weakly.
He tried to lift himself, but his hands shook too badly to hold him.
Max stood where he was, calm and untouched.
Aurelian looked up at him from the ground, and no arrogance remained in his eyes. There was only silence, only disbelief, and only a fear he tried and failed to hide.
Angelina Valerius looked down at the stage for a moment, and then she announced the result calmly.
"Aurelian Lareth is unable to continue."
The screen above the arena changed.

The result shone above everyone, and the Divine Realm stayed silent. Aurelian Lareth, the Divine Son of the second elven faction, had lost yet again. But this defeat was different from the one Damian had handed him.
Damian had cut down his dominion with the sword. Max had rendered the very light he relied upon useless.
The viewing halls of the second elven faction went deathly still. Elders stared at the screen with rigid faces, unable to comprehend how Max could wield Heavenly Luminance power so naturally, or why Aurelian’s strongest light-based attacks had failed to harm him at all.
At the Black Dragon Clan, the disciples exploded into thunderous cheers.
Inside the Eternal Hourglass, Damian Voss studied Max with narrowed eyes, and Kaiden Voidmere’s expression turned thoughtful. Ervin watched in silence while Revona’s Void Origin Eyes flickered faintly.
Rakan Thorne let out a low laugh, though even he kept his voice down.
Max stood on the stage and looked at Aurelian one final time. Aurelian, sprawled on the cracked ground, stared back at him. No words passed between them this time, because none were needed.
The transfer light descended and carried the defeated Divine Son back to his pillar, and a moment later, Max returned to his own.
The battle had ended, but for Aurelian Lareth, something far worse than defeat had just begun. He now understood that the power he had treated as his divine proof was no shelter at all. It was a debt, and Max Morgan had come to collect it.
