Chapter 1992: Five Races!

Chapter 1992: Five Races!

Arvantos then said, "I will explain the details about demons and elves later. For now, you only need to understand the five first races. Aside from us Primordials, there is the Devil Race, the Spirit Race, the Angel Race, and lastly, the Dragon Race."

The names echoed through the hall.

Devil Race.

Spirit Race.

Angel Race.

Dragon Race.

To the ten geniuses, each name carried an invisible pressure. The Devil Race had already appeared before them, arrogant enough to stand in front of the four Primarchs and threaten the entire universe. If the Devil Race was only one of the other four first races, then it was difficult to imagine how powerful the remaining three could be.

Arvantos raised his hand, and the star map above the hall shifted. Four enormous shadows appeared around the image of their universe. One was dark and crimson, burning with the aura of slaughter and conquest.

One was pale green and silver, filled with life, nature, and spiritual light. One was bright and vast, surrounded by rings of sacred radiance. The last was immense and ancient, carrying the faint outline of coiling dragons whose bodies seemed large enough to wrap around stars.

"Among those four races," Arvantos continued, "the Angel Race and the Dragon Race are the most threatening to us."

Everyone immediately focused on him.

"During the last war, the Devil Race was the one that directly invaded our universe, but the situation could have been much worse. At that time, the Angel Race and the Dragon Race were locked in a conflict of their own. Their attention was elsewhere, and they had no reason to spend their forces on us. That was our fortune."

His tone became heavier.

"If the Angel Race and the Dragon Race had entered the war at the same time as the Devil Race, then we would have surely lost. There is no need to dress it up with pride. That is the truth."

The hall became still.

No one mocked him. No one questioned him. No one thought he was exaggerating.

Arvantos was a Primarch. If someone like him was willing to say that the Primordial Race would have lost, then the threat of the Angel Race and Dragon Race had to be almost unimaginable.

Max’s gaze sharpened slightly.

The Dragon Race caught his attention more than the others.

His Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline was already one of his strongest foundations. It had given him dragon transformation, terrifying defense, chaotic dragon force, and the power of the Black Dragon Cataclysm Breath.

But now, hearing Arvantos speak of a Dragon Race beyond their universe made him wonder whether his Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline was somehow connected to that race, or whether it came from another branch entirely.

For now, he kept the question to himself.

Everyone remained silent for a while after hearing about the other four first races.

Then Max asked curiously, "Is the Spirit Race the same race that spirits came from?"

Arvantos nodded. "Yes, it is the same Spirit Race you are thinking of, but not in the simple way most people understand spirits."

He looked at Max and explained further, "The spirits you know within our universe are often incomplete manifestations of spiritual energy, nature, laws, memories, or special environments. Some are born from treasures, some from natural lands, some from ancient battlefields, and some from the lingering will of powerful beings. They may have intelligence, emotion, and even cultivation, but they are not the true first race."

Arvantos raised his hand, and the spirit-like shadow on the star map became clearer.

"The true Spirit Race beyond our universe exists in humanoid form. They have flesh, soul, bloodline, and spiritual origin. However, unlike ordinary races, their bodies are naturally close to the laws of nature and the pure forces of existence. They are born with an affinity toward life, elemental laws, soul energy, and natural order. That is why many ancient records describe them as a race blessed by gods."

He paused briefly, then corrected himself in a calmer tone.

"Of course, whether gods truly blessed them or whether it is only the blessing of nature is something no one can say with certainty. But among the five first races, the Spirit Race is indeed the one most closely aligned with balance, life, and natural law."

Ervin’s eyes brightened slightly. "Then they are not hostile?"

"Not usually," Arvantos said. "The Spirit Race is considered the most peaceful among the five first races. They do not like invasion, conquest, or meaningless slaughter. They prefer to remain within their own universe, protect their sacred lands, and avoid wars unless their survival or core interests are threatened."

His voice then turned colder.

"The Devil Race is the complete opposite."

The atmosphere shifted again.

"The Devil Race is the most hated race among the five. Their society is built around conquest, domination, bloodline hierarchy, and endless expansion. To them, invading another universe is not a moral question. It is only a matter of whether the benefits are worth the cost. They devour resources, enslave worlds, corrupt races, and turn conquered territories into war engines for future invasions."

Damian’s expression turned grim.

Arvantos looked at the young geniuses and continued, "If only the Devil Race wants to invade our universe, the situation will be dangerous, but not hopeless. Our Primordial Race, together with the top forces of the Divine Realm, can still resist them if we move properly. The true problem is whether the Angel Race and Dragon Race become involved."

Rosaline frowned. "Why would they join?"

"Because war between universes does not remain simple for long," Arvantos answered. "If the Devil Race gains something from invading us, the other races will not sit still. If we weaken too much while fighting the devils, others may see an opportunity. If the hidden secret they seek truly exists here, then every first race will eventually turn its eyes toward us."

His expression became solemn.

"So, while the devils are the ones standing at our gate right now, they may not remain our only enemy."

A heavy silence filled the hall.

After a moment, Damian asked, "Then what do the devils actually want from our universe?"

Arvantos sighed.

"That is a long story."

He looked toward the star map above them. With a wave of his hand, the image expanded again, revealing their universe at the center and four other vast cosmic forms surrounding it from different directions.
