Chapter 2004: More Pseudo Cosmic Paths!
Chapter 2004: More Pseudo Cosmic Paths!
Primordial Flames didn’t simply burn. They refined, purified and returned things to a more original state.
When Max used black flames, the result was violent and direct. The black flames devoured energy, corroded defenses, consumed vitality, and turned everything they touched into fuel. But the Primordial Flames worked differently.
They burned through impurities. They weakened corruption. They refined unstable energy. They even sharpened Max’s own understanding of law when he used them with restraint.
For enemies, that purity could turn terrifying. A defense built on unstable laws might get refined until it collapsed. A devil’s corrupted power might get purified until its foundation cracked.
A bloodline curse might burn away from the inside. Even a strong body could be attacked not by destroying it outright, but by burning away the hidden flaws holding its strength together.
After long practice, Max’s grasp of the Primordial Flames deepened rapidly. Eventually, he created another Pseudo Cosmic Path from them. The moment the new path took shape, the golden flame above his palm turned sharper and more profound. It no longer felt like just a bloodline ability. It became a road, a direction, a law that Max himself had started to comprehend.
Primordial Flame Path. It was still only a Pseudo Cosmic Path, but its potential ran deep.
Once that was done, Max didn’t stop. He still had time. Over the next few years inside the Dimension of Time, he focused on building Pseudo Cosmic Paths for his Ice Element and Light Element.
Before, he hadn’t been able to do this because his mastery over these two elements hadn’t gone deep enough. He could use ice and light, but using an element and walking it toward a Pseudo Cosmic Path were two completely different things. Forming a Pseudo Cosmic Path meant understanding the deeper nature, law structure, battle application, and conceptual direction of that power. Max’s mastery hadn’t reached that level before.
Now, with the Primordial Bloodline, everything had changed. The moment he focused on ice, he felt like he’d been close to it for years. He could feel the stillness inside cold, the way motion slowed down, the freezing of energy, and how ice could preserve, imprison, and destroy all at once. The element no longer felt like something he had to force himself to use. It felt natural.
The same thing happened with light. When Max studied the Light Element, he could sense its speed, purity, warmth, illumination, and judgment. It wasn’t the same as the Heavenly Luminance Divine Bloodline, but the two resonated with each other. His Primordial Bloodline made that resonance clearer, letting him understand the Light Element not just as a force of brightness, but as a law that revealed, purified, accelerated, and pierced.
Because of that, Max successfully built Pseudo Cosmic Paths for both ice and light.
"I see," Max muttered once he’d finished. "The Primordial Bloodline massively boosts my mastery over elements."
His eyes turned thoughtful. "Even for elements where I haven’t unlocked a dimension yet, I still feel a lot closer to them."
This gave him a clearer picture of the Primordial Bloodline. Maybe its greatest strength wasn’t some single obvious ability. Maybe its real value sat in comprehension itself. It pulled him closer to the laws, made elements feel natural, strengthened his Pseudo Cosmic Paths, and let him understand powers that should have taken years of study.
To other cultivators, forming a Pseudo Cosmic Path was an enormous challenge. To Max, the Primordial Bloodline made the whole process smoother, faster, and more instinctive.
That was terrifying in its own way.
After finishing the Pseudo Cosmic Paths for Primordial Flames, Ice, and Light, Max still had a few hours left. He spent the rest of the time practicing his sword arts and thinking through the Emotion Severing Path.
Dragonheart appeared in his hand, and Max moved through the Saint Order Sword Art again and again. Each swing came out calm, precise, and controlled. He wasn’t chasing his strongest attack. Instead, he focused on feeling the edge hidden inside emotion, the line between attachment and detachment, the moment when killing intent became unnecessary because the blade itself had already cut through the heart’s disturbance.
Among all his Pseudo Cosmic Paths, the Emotion Severing Path felt closest to becoming a true Cosmic Path. Divine King Punishment was powerful, but it still needed more comprehension. The Devouring Flames Domain was terrifying, but its path leaned too heavily on destruction and hunger. The Primordial Flame Path had great potential, but it had only just come together. Ice and Light were also brand new.
Emotion Severing Path was different. It had followed Max through several dangerous battles. It had sharpened his will, changed his attacks, and let him cut through things ordinary force couldn’t touch. Every time he used it, he felt like he was standing closer to the boundary between a Pseudo Cosmic Path and a true one.
"I feel like out of all my Pseudo Cosmic Paths, Emotion Severing is closest to becoming the real thing," Max muttered.
His gaze settled into calm. "It’s only a matter of time."
With that, he kept practicing. Dragonheart moved through the air in smooth arcs, and the Saint Order Sword Art carried the invisible sharpness of the Emotion Severing Path with every strike. The Dimension of Time stayed silent around him, but with each swing, the space ahead of him seemed to lose something intangible.
Anger. Fear. Desire. Attachment.
For those final hours, Max forgot about the devils, the Primordials, the Five Sacred Clans, the sacred legacy, and even the warning about Anover. He focused only on his sword. He focused only on the path. And slowly, the edge of Emotion Severing grew sharper.

On the day of the meeting with the devils, the entire Divine Realm seemed to hold its breath.
It wasn’t that the countless worlds, planets, forces, clans, empires, and ancient forces of the Divine Realm had actually stopped moving.
Cities kept running. Merchants kept traveling. Cultivators kept training. Starships still crossed the void, and formation gates still opened from one region to another. Yet beneath all that ordinary movement, a strange tension had spread across the realm like an invisible storm.
