Chapter 2006: Arrival of the Devils!
Chapter 2006: Arrival of the Devils!
The wait for the Devil Race didn’t last long.
Only a few minutes had passed since the major forces of the Divine Realm gathered inside the grand council domain of the Primordial Race, yet the atmosphere already felt heavy enough to crush weaker cultivators.
The four Primarchs stood at the center of the meeting ground, surrounded by the leaders of the strongest first-rate forces, the Four Sacred Clans, and the newly awakened Primordial geniuses. No one spoke casually.
Even those who hated waiting understood that this meeting would decide whether the Divine Realm gained time to prepare or took another step toward a universe-shaking war.
Then the sky changed.
The golden clouds above the council domain slowly parted. A dark crack appeared between them. Black mist poured out of that crack, and the pure primordial light in the air dimmed, as if a stain had spread across the heavens.
The temperature dropped sharply. The laws around the meeting ground twisted for a moment, and a cruel pressure came down from above.
The devils had arrived.
There were only around ten of them, but their presence alone tensed up the entire council domain. Each devil stood tall and powerful, covered in ancient tattoos that resembled Infernal Demon Tattoos, only deeper and more vicious.
Their horns glowed with dark crimson light, and the markings across their bodies seemed to pulse like living symbols. They hovered above the meeting ground as if they hadn’t stepped into enemy territory, but had come to inspect a place that would soon belong to them.
At their front stood Varok.
He looked young, handsome, and cruel. His skin was pale with a faint gray tone, his eyes were dark red, and the tattoos running from his horns down to his neck and hands made him look both elegant and savage.
He was the son of Devil Emperor Abaddon, but his expression carried none of the caution an envoy should have. He looked down at the gathered forces of the Divine Realm with a faint smile, as if the Primordials, sacred clans, palace masters, kingdom rulers, and ancient leaders below weren’t worth being nervous about.
"You’ve put together quite the grand welcome for me," Varok said.
His voice spread through the sky.
The four Primarchs rose from their seats at the same time and appeared in the air in front of the devils.
Arvantos stood among them, his expression calm and unreadable. Beside him stood the other three Primarchs, and their presence alone made the pressure in the sky much heavier.
The first was Primarch Eryndor, a tall man with bronze-gold skin, long dark hair, and eyes that burned like molten stars. His aura felt thick, ancient, and overwhelming, like a living mountain built from the first bones of the universe.
Among the four Primarchs, he gave off the most direct physical pressure, and every breath he took made space tremble faintly.
The second was Primarch Lysandra, a woman dressed in flowing silver-gold robes. Her hair was pale as moonlight, and countless tiny law runes moved around her like fireflies. Her aura came off calm, but it carried terrifying depth, as if she could see through energy, soul, bloodline, and fate with a single glance.
The third was Primarch Veyrion, a cold-faced man whose eyes seemed to hold a rotating starfield. His body didn’t release much pressure openly, but the space around him bent naturally, making him feel distant even while standing right there.
Compared to Eryndor’s overwhelming force and Lysandra’s profound mystery, Veyrion felt like someone who could make entire star realms disappear without changing his expression.
Arvantos stood slightly ahead of them. He’d already spoken with Max and the others before, but now, facing Varok and the Devil Race, his aura felt completely different. He no longer looked like an elder teaching younger geniuses. He looked like one of the pillars holding up the universe.
Behind the four Primarchs, the leaders of the top first-rate forces rose into the air too.
The War God Palace Master, Garron Aresvale, stood with both arms crossed, his body wrapped in dark battle armor that looked forged from the bones of ancient battlefields. His eyes were sharp and wild, and even before he said a word, his battle intent made it clear he’d rather crush the devils than negotiate with them.
Beside him stood the Sword God Palace Master, Celian Voss, a calm man in white sword robes. He carried no visible sword, yet the air around him was filled with sword intent so sharp that even the darkness released by the devils seemed to split apart before it could touch him.
The Nine Star Court was represented by High Lord Astren Vale, an old man with nine small stars rotating behind him. His eyes were deep and calculating, and his fingers moved slowly, as if he were measuring hidden changes in fate.
The Stellar Templar stood behind Grand Marshal Seraphis Kael, whose silver armor shone with cold starlight. His presence felt disciplined and solemn, carrying the air of someone who’d commanded countless wars without ever letting emotion cloud his judgment.
The Lunarian Kingdom’s delegation was led by Queen Selene Lunaris, a beautiful woman with moon-white hair and a silver crown. She stood beneath a faint lunar shadow, her expression gentle, though her eyes stayed clear and distant, like a cold moon watching worlds rise and fall.
The Grand Void Sanctum’s master, Lord Vael Noxis, appeared half-hidden inside folded darkness. His figure blurred at the edges, and sometimes he looked close while his aura felt thousands of miles away.
Ascension Hall was led by Hall Master Orin Caldus, a dignified man with ancient scrolls and golden law tablets floating behind him. His expression stayed grave, and his eyes never left Varok.
The Four Sacred Clans had also sent their leaders and ancestors. Valerius burned with sacred solar light. Ashbourne carried blood-iron battle force. Ravenhart stood in shadowed silence. Evercrest controlled the surrounding space through hidden roots and sealed domains.
Even though the recent matter involving the Voidwalker Clan hadn’t been settled, none of them dared show any internal conflict in front of the devils.
Below them, Max and the other nine geniuses stood near the Primordial side. They weren’t seated among the leaders, but their position let them hear every word clearly. The meeting hadn’t been kept from them.
Arvantos had said it was time they learned the truth, and clearly that also meant they were allowed to listen to the negotiations that would shape the direction of the coming storm.
Max looked up at Varok in silence. He’d already heard that Varok carried the Pearl of Abyss. Because of that, the Primordials couldn’t simply kill or seal him without risking consequences no one could predict. Still, watching the young devil stand above the council domain with such arrogance made Max’s eyes turn colder.
