Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100

Chapter 2082: Max’s One Question!

Chapter 2082: Max’s One Question!

"She cleared it."

The Spirit Race genius said it simply, but his expression made it clear the memory still carried weight.

"When the tenth monolith lit up, the entire trial site reacted. Every monolith resonated, the sky above the trial changed color, and her name appeared at the top of the list."

His eyes grew slightly distant. "I wasn’t here to see it myself, but everyone heard about it afterward. Within hours, the news had reached Bloodstone City and several other outer-layer cities, and within a day, almost every major faction knew her name. The angels celebrated openly, and the dragons started asking just how strong she really was. The devils tried to learn everything they could about her abilities, while the Primordials and spirits began comparing her to the greatest newcomers of past generations."

Max looked up at the list again.

"People talked about her for months," the Spirit Race genius went on. "You heard her name everywhere, whether it was in training halls, Battle Spaces, trial entrances, or race bases. Some people even traveled across several outer-layer regions just hoping to watch her fight."

His voice dropped a little. "After that, nobody looked at her as an ordinary newcomer anymore. She became one of those names everyone expected to make it to the inner layer."

Max’s expression turned thoughtful. "So clearing all ten shadows changes how the whole outer layer sees you."

The Spirit Race genius laughed softly. "Changes it? It completely transforms your status. Once you clear all ten shadows, people stop asking whether you’re talented and start asking how far you’re going to go."

Max looked back at Stella’s name, the Angel Race genius ranked first who had done it only a year ago. That meant Stella wasn’t just one of the twenty-three known people to clear all ten shadows.

She was the newest monster the Ten Shadows Trial had produced, and judging by the way the Spirit Race genius talked about her, the shock of her achievement still hadn’t faded even after a full year.

Max’s attention returned to the list above the monolith.

Now that he knew the rankings were based on recency rather than strength, the twenty-three names felt even more mysterious. They weren’t simply the greatest talents of a single generation. They had appeared across different eras, perhaps separated by decades, centuries, or spans of time far greater than that.

Then a new thought surfaced in his mind.

’Could one of these twenty-three have inherited the Dimensional Keeper Legacy?’

The idea didn’t come out of nowhere. From everything Max knew, the Godslayer’s Pilgrimage was unimaginably ancient. It had already existed during the last great war between the Primordials and the Devils hundreds of thousands of years ago, and some records suggested it had been considered old even then.

That meant countless generations had passed through this place, and over all those generations, there should have been several inheritors of the Dimensional Keeper Legacy.

Most of them had lived short lives because of the strange fate tied to that inheritance. Few had ever reached the heights they should have, and many had died before their potential could fully bloom. Surely not all of them had died right away, though. Some of them should have survived long enough to enter the Godslayer’s Pilgrimage, and if they had...

Max looked at the twenty-three names again.

With the Dimensional Keeper Legacy in hand, clearing all ten shadows shouldn’t have been impossible. In fact, Max found it hard to believe that someone who had inherited such a terrifying legacy would fail to leave some kind of mark here.

’Maybe one of these names belongs to one of them.’

His gaze moved slowly from Stella to Hojomin, then on to Varok, Adrian, Lumian, Patrick, and the names below them.

Still, there was no way to know for sure. A previous inheritor might have used a different name or hidden their identity entirely. They might have belonged to a lesser race or a great race, or even to some forgotten bloodline that no longer existed.

After thinking it over for a long moment, Max finally shook his head. "Forget it."

There was no point guessing without evidence. If one of the twenty-three really had been a previous Dimensional Keeper inheritor, he would eventually find clues somewhere else.

For now, his attention shifted to the arenas scattered throughout the first monolith, where hundreds of battles were still going on at the same time. Participants fought beneath glowing formations while spectators watched from the edges. Some fights ended quickly, while others dragged on as both sides wore themselves out trying to win extra Bronze Marks.

Then Max’s eyes suddenly stopped, because in one of the arenas, he spotted a familiar figure.

It was Damian, and he was fighting an Angel Race genius.

The angel was already in the Divine Lord Realm and had summoned several golden constructs around the arena, but Damian stayed as calm as ever. His sword moved steadily and cut through one attack after another while his Sword Sovereign Heaven Pseudo Cosmic Path pressed down across the battlefield.

A faint smile appeared on Max’s face.

’So he is here.’

He looked toward another arena and found Revona there as well.

She was fighting a Devil Race genius, and her Void Origin Eyes were already active. Every time the devil unleashed an attack, its power began to weaken the moment Revona looked at it, and judging by the look on her opponent’s face, the fight had turned out far more frustrating than he had expected.

Max immediately understood why the two of them had gone into the arenas instead of heading straight for the First Shadow Trial. It came down to Bronze Marks.

Every attempt at the First Shadow Trial cost one hundred Bronze Marks. If someone went in and failed, they would be teleported back into the monolith, but the entry fee wouldn’t be refunded. To try the First Shadow again, they would have to pay another hundred.

That made the surrounding arenas extremely important. They weren’t just places where participants could test themselves; they were also one of the main ways newcomers earned enough Bronze Marks to keep challenging the Ten Shadows Trial.

The same system applied to the later shadows too. Each shadow had its own entry fee, a failed attempt meant losing the marks spent on it, and anyone who wanted another chance had to pay again.

That was why so many participants fought in the arenas between attempts. Without enough marks, even someone strong enough to keep progressing could eventually be forced to stop.

The Tenth Shadow Trial, however, followed completely different rules.

There were no second attempts, and each person got only one chance. If they entered the Tenth Shadow Trial and failed, they would be expelled from the entire Ten Shadows Trial on the spot, and they would permanently lose the right to ever enter this place again.

The same rule applied to anyone who chose to leave the Ten Shadows Trial before finishing everything. Once a person exited the trial grounds entirely, their opportunity was over, and they could never come back.

That was the fundamental rule of the Ten Shadows Trial. Every participant could enter only once in their lifetime. While they were inside, they could challenge the first nine shadows as many times as they liked, as long as they had enough Bronze Marks and stayed within the trial grounds.

The moment they left, though, whether by choice or by failing the tenth shadow, that opportunity vanished forever.

Max looked toward the enormous door that led to the First Shadow Trial, and now he understood why some people stayed here for so long.

They weren’t simply fighting ten battles one after another. They were spending days, months, or perhaps even years inside this place, fighting in the arenas, earning marks, recovering, and improving themselves before challenging the shadows again whenever they felt ready.

For many newcomers, the Ten Shadows Trial wasn’t just a trial. It was an entire stage of their cultivation journey, and once they stepped inside, they had only one lifetime to make the most of it.
