Chapter 1766 1766: Against God & God Emperor

Chapter 1766 1766: Against God & God Emperor

With a step, Varian crossed the vast cosmic distance.

At his level, 'distance' lost its meaning. All space was under his command. With a thought, it would bend and fold to take him to the desired location.

"Sup, you two?" He looked at the two with a smile, his gaze frighteningly calm.

God Emperor looked at Varian in disbelief.

Varian fully enjoyed his 'student's' reaction.

There's no way. There's absolutely no way this could happen.

With my own hands, I grabbed the slivers, knowing the damage it'd inflict on his origin.

How could he survive that? Even Heaven tribe couldn't do anything like this.

Architect laughed. "Origin birthing slivers…what a terrible insight. I'm surprised a pathetic creation of mine can pull this off."

God Emperor looked calm on the outside. Internally, he was in a turmoil.

I planned for billions of years, worked so hard, sacrificed so much, all to break that bottleneck and reach the peak of strength.

But Varian, no, teacher had no such elaborate preparation. And while I worked within the given framework, he created his own.

This was perhaps the fundamental difference between us.

I adeptly copied, adapted and expanded. I never truly created. He, on the other hand was always forging his path.

I am an imposter. Even my ideal is given by him.

No, no, no, don't think like that. I am doing the right thing!

Peace is the right thing!

"You look uglier than I thought." Varian addressed Architect, showing blatant disgust. "You don't own the origin. You don't own this universe. But you act like some big shot.

I don't think someone as lame as you has anything related with something as exquisite as origin. You stole it, didn't you? You lame thief!"

Architect's killing intent spiked and the whole universe trembled. Those words hit a nerve.

Varian smiled arrogantly at his enraged opponent.

God Emperor saw Varian piss off Architect with such ease and felt a sense of bitterness he didn't know he could feel.

Even when I did my best, I'm not this successful. Why did I have to try so hard and why could he succeed without even trying?

"You stole the origin, got beaten like a dog and fled here. You fell into a slumber, waiting to recover. But it takes so long for you to wake up. So, the plan with God's Eye and the slivers. Oh and that ban on rank 3."

Architect was seething, veins visible on his forehead. If he was a pressure cooker, he'd have exploded by now.

Varian didn't stop at all. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. You are so afraid of dying so much that you put restrictions on your…pathetic creations. Who's the pathetic one here really?

Why are you so scared, pussy? How about you leave this power business to men and go play with some little girls?"

"Enough!" Architect attacked.

The materialized laws of the universe boosted his strength from high rank 3 to peak rank 3.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Varian flicked his hand, three swords belonging to the three avenues emerging from him before they merged into one.

This giant sword glowed with a blinding radiance, just a speck of light from it was enough to enlighten a celestial ranker.

A millionth of this power was enough to kill all divine rankers of the universe.

Such a majestic sword struck the balance scale created by Architect.

Varian's attack heavily leaned towards the concept of chaos. It collapsed all the laws in its path and sought destruction.

Space-time twisted like jellies. Life and death intermixed, no longer maintaining any distinction. Order simply collapsed.

If it strikes the scale, the balance would lose the very concept of balance. How could there be balance in chaos?

The balance didn't actively fight. It instead channeled that raw power of chaos into itself.

Balance could not exist within chaos. But a certain chaos was allowed within balance—as long as that chaos was balanced.

So, it used Varian's chaos sword to strengthen itself and struck back at Varian.

Varian quickly attacked back.

The sword of space cracked up the fabric of space-time to unleash a huge void against the balance.

The balance didn't fight the void. It simply slowed the time, making the void impossible to reach it.

"Time sword!"

The sword of time embodied 'eternity' at its tip and reached for the scale.

Once it struck, the balance would be removed from present and be banished into 'eternity'.

The balance didn't fight directly this time either. It instead summoned the river of time and threw itself into the final edge—into eternity itself!

The sword was forced to wade through the river of time to find the balance. But in trying to do so, it was aiming to reach the very end of time. That'd take forever!

The sword was lost!

The balance reappeared.

"Sword of Dead Space!"

This sword filled the whole space with death. Nothing was allowed to live. Not even manifestations of individual power like the balance.

The balance countered with the power of time and life.

Every time something died, a new life was born. And time was greatly accelerated.

So, while everything was dying, everything was also being reborn.

In a way, it looked as if nothing happened at all.

"Life Chaos Sword!"

The power of life and chaos merged and struck balance.

The scale experienced 'life' in itself and that 'life' was guided by chaos. It was rebelling against its own self.

The balance used the concepts of death and quickly put this new self to death.

"Sword of End!"

All the six powers were fused together into the tip of the sword, aiming for destruction.

"Scale of Creation."

The balance also fused the six paths, but instead as creative forces.

The destructive and creative forces clashed equally and the scale was boosted by this balance.

With this boost, it struck back hard.

"Die, you cretin!" Architect roared with joy.

Varian was left to face with the full scale attack of a peak rank 3. He had no way to stop it.

'He's stupid for provoking a stronger enemy.' God Emperor shook his head and used the opportunity to strike Architect.

The six materialized laws of the universe were hit and a cracking sound resounded across the universe.

Architect visibly paled but kept his focus on Varian. He had to kill this bastard at any costs!

As the attack was about to reach him, Varian chuckled.

"I want to see hope greatly and then despair." He called onto Hortus.

The three fused forbidden regions roared, pouring out their powers. The world of Hortus morphed, transforming into a golden shield.

Varian blocked the attack.

Boom!

The clash shook Hortus violently and the shock sent Varian flying. He looked pale and weaker.

But he wasn't dead!

Boom!

Without warning, a cosmic fist arrived straight for Varian. God Emperor used the chance to sneak attack a weaker opponent!

Showing no surprise, he also blocked that attack.

Boom!

Varian's face turned paler but his eyes burned with excitement. "Looks like you can't kill me after all! I've never lost when I can keep fighting!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

God Emperor and Architect fought each other while they both tried to kill Varian. His attacks couldn't damage either of them but he kept annoying Architect, allowing God Emperor to take advantage.

And though he couldn't match the attacks of a peak rank 3, using Hortus allowed him to barely defend himself.

As a result, the battle quickly tilted in God Emperor's favor. He inflicted severe damage on the materialized laws and Architect lost his upper hand.

But before Thoren could be happy about it, Varian set his sights on him.

"My dear student, why are you so dumb? You had billions of years and you can't even defeat this cowardly, injured thief.

Are you hearing this? If you can't even defeat this idiot after planning for so long, what does that make you?

I really think you've gone retarded with your ideal.

Peace? Peace my ass!

When I became the ruler of my race, I told them square and clear, there is no eternal peace. Peace is the gap between wars and wars are a means to peace."

God Emperor glared at him and threw a slap.

Boom!

The expanse of space exploded with a brilliant light and Varian was thrown back once more, his body cracking. After taking so many attacks, he was suffering serious injuries.

But even life threatening injuries couldn't stop his gun of a mouth.

"I mean, you're really stupid. Just think about it. You're doing all this for eternal peace, correct? A universe where everything is perfect.

But this Architect guy is the maker of our universe. So, he's obviously not from this universe.

There is something out there. Multiverse? Void? Whatever you wanna call it.

And there are other people, other beings out there.

Even if you make a perfect universe, what happens when someone finds out your little cutie universe?

There will be war, my stupid student! There is no eternal peace!"

"Then I will conquer that multiverse too!" God Emperor roared, eyes bloodshot.

Even though he told himself to not get affected by his teacher's provocative remarks—which he was really, really, really good at, Thoren couldn't help it.

Varian knew exactly what to say and how to press the buttons. And he didn't show any mercy.

Boom!

Blocking another attack, Varian's body cracked even more. He was approaching his limit.

But he laughed still and laughed with mockery. "Conquer the multiverse? Thoren, let's be honest, just us.

The only reason you are even standing here is that I had a measly thousand years. A hundred more, no, even ten more years and you're dead meat.

This is your true state. All your talent, planning and bullsh*t puts you just a step before me.

If we were anything even slightly comparable to peers, you will commit suicide out of depression.

You really think you can conquer the multiverse? Wake up! Touch some grass, you retard!

You aren't conquering sh*t! You can't kill even this cowardly thief!"

"Aghhhh!" God Emperor pushed himself to the absolute limit and attacked Architect.

'But what did I do?'

Architect hurriedly strengthened his defenses and barely withstood the attack.

Click!

The materialized laws were on the verge of a break down.

He paid the price for focusing on Varian and letting God Emperor take advantage.

He had to do something!
