Chapter 79
Chapter 79
The fight was over, apologies had been made, and the fight was kept a secret from the organizers. After leaving the medical room, Sheng Yuan returned to Room 209 to collect his belongings and pack them into his suitcase.
Iron Head arranged for him to stay in Guo Gang’s room, and coincidentally, Guo Gang’s roommate was a student from Changteng. The two schools were currently engaged in a fierce online battle, with vulgar language and insults flying around. Given the situation, it was better for students from both schools to live separately to avoid any further conflicts.
Sheng Yuan carried his suitcase and went to Room 306. Guo Gang was the only one there, as the other student had already packed up and left.
“What happened earlier, Sheng Yuan?”
It had been over two hours since Sheng Yuan and Huang Anchong had fought.
Sheng Yuan placed the suitcase by the bed and spoke in a relaxed tone, “Nothing much, just a momentary impulse.”
He appeared completely unscathed, and there was no sign of the fight.
Guo Gang knew Sheng Yuan’s character. If no one provoked him, he would never intentionally bully others, let alone resort to violence.
The last person to make Sheng Yuan resort to violence was Chu Weitian.
Thinking of Huang Anchong’s thin figure…
Huang Anchong= Chu Weitian?
Chu Weitian wasn’t a good person…
But…
It would be an insult to Chu Weitian to compare the two together.
Guo Gang’s expression turned serious, and he spoke firmly, “Did he provoke you?”
Sheng Yuan looked at him.
He guessed it right!
Guo Gang voiced his worst suspicion, “Did he hide your slippers?”
Sheng Yuan: “…”
“Or did he turn off the lights while you were in the restroom, making you feel like it was pitch black.”
Sheng Yuan: “…”
Somehow, Sheng Yuan saw shades of Zheng Zilu in Guo Gang.
Indeed, one who associates with the red will become red, and one who associates with the black will become black. And one who associates with Zheng Zilu will never have a bright world.
Sheng Yuan pondered, “Combine the above.”
Damn! Absolutely wicked!
He didn’t expect Huang Anchong to be such a scoundrel!
Guo Gang spoke resolutely, “No wonder you hit him. If it were me, I would have done the same.”
Sheng Yuan took out the items he had just packed in the suitcase, spread them out again, and in the upper right corner, there was a touch of red—a worn-out glove Yu Zuojin had knit for him, giving off a vintage beggar-like vibe.
Today’s events kept him burning with anger. The pale moonlight seeped through the glass window and cast a rectangular beam of light on the dormitory floor. There was no wind tonight, and the windows didn’t creak. But Sheng Yuan lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling which was already covered in the darkness of the night.
He couldn’t sleep even if he closed his eyes.
Guo Gang, on the other side, slept soundly, occasionally murmuring in his sleep, the sounds blending with the late-night weariness in the silent dormitory.
Sheng Yuan picked up his phone from the bedside, and the screen’s brightness illuminated his face. He played a few rounds of his game, amd time passed by in minutes and seconds.
Suddenly, the phone vibrated in his palm.
A message notification appeared at the top of the screen.
Yu Zuojin: “.”
Sheng Yuan clicked on the message and began typing on the keyboard.
Profound Sheng: “.”
[System: What are you doing?]
Sheng Yuan: “Copying and pasting.”
Truly Ambitious: “…”
Yu Zuojin: “Can’t sleep?”
Profound Sheng: “No.”
A pair of night owls.
After receiving the message, there was a long pause before the other party replied. Sheng Yuan looked at the screen, where “Typing…” turned back into Yu Zuojin’s name, then back to “Typing…”
He waited for two minutes before finally receiving a reply.
“Can you come out?”
Sheng Yuan blinked, “Now?”
Winter camp students were not allowed to leave. If he sneaked out, he could probably climb over the wall, but the latest bus was at ten o’clock, and it was close to one in the morning now. The last bus had already passed.
Profound Sheng: “There are no buses now.”
Yu Zuojin: “I’m outside.”
Sheng Yuan’s eyes widened, and he quickly looked out the window. The cold night outside was quiet, and moonlight illuminated the dark night, as if the darkness absorbed the shadows of everything, covering the colors that would be under the sunlight.
Yu Zuojin was outside!
Sheng Yuan got up from the bed and started putting on his coat. He was as silent as much as possible, so as not to disturb Guo Gang.
Just as Sheng Yuan was turning the doorknob, Guo Gang jumped up from the bed, rubbing his eyes. “Where are you going, Sheng Yuan?”
Sheng Yuan: “…”
Sheng Yuan: “To the restroom.”
Guo Gang, still drowsy, opened his eyes. “Do you need me to accompany you?”
The damn sudden friendship.
Sheng Yuan: “No need, I’ll go by myself.”
Guo Gang settled back into his quilt and wrapped himself up. “Okay then.”
He completely forgot that the restroom was right in the dormitory.
Sheng Yuan pushed the door open and walked out, closing it gently behind him. He was extremely cautious in the hallway, afraid of making any noise.
[System: Host, isn’t it quite exciting?]
Sheng Yuan: ?
[System: The feeling of sneaking around in the middle of the night, afraid of being caught.]
Sheng Yuan: “…”
Do you think everyone is like Yu Zuojin?
Sheng Yuan bent down, sneaked past the duty office of the dormitory building and ran after that. Yu Zuojin’s location was on the south wall of the winter camp.
Soon, he arrived at the designated location on his phone.
He looked at the cold gray wall and licked his lips, which were slightly dry due to thirst from running.
A soft voice called out.
“Yu Zuojin.”
In the next moment, he heard rustling sounds from the other side of the wall. A figure appeared, bathed in the moonlight. With agile and nimble movements, one arm held the top of the wall, and the long legs and torso formed elegant lines. He then leaped over the wall without a trace of dragging or hesitation.
Seeing Yu Zuojin descend from the sky—
Truly Ambitious: Wow.
Sheng Yuan: Wow.
His profound facial features looked even more exquisite under the moonlight. With sharp facial lines, thick eyebrows and eyes, he exuded a chilling aura as he stood in front of Sheng Yuan. His tall body completely enveloped Sheng Yuan, and he lowered his gaze, looking at him.
[System: You know what, you won’t say it but your cheap lover has good looks.]
Sheng Yuan: “…”
Yu Zuojin seemed to have something hanging around his neck, like a strap of a shoulder bag. On closer inspection, it was indeed a strap. Due to the vigorous action of jumping over the wall just now, the whole bag slanted backward and hung behind Yu Zuojin. The bag hanging from his neck instantly added a touch of silliness to his cold face.
Sheng Yuan: “How did you come here?”
Yu Zuojin didn’t speak but reached out and grabbed his wrist, pulling him closer. It was only when they were pressed together that he was satisfied.
Sheng Yuan looked at the silent Yu Zoujin. “You know about gege’s fight, right?”
Yu Zuojin nodded.
He not only knew about it but also knew why Sheng Yuan had beatrn up Huang Anchong.
Yu Zuojin’s hands were frighteningly cold, and Sheng Yuan didn’t know how long the other person had been outside.
Yu Zuojin held Sheng Yuan’s wrist. He opened his mouth several times, but he still didn’t say a word.
He seemed to want to say that Sheng Yuan didn’t have to take risks for him, but at the same time, he seemed unable to find the right words.
His words were lacking, and his voice was unpleasant, like a cold wind blowing in the dead of night.
As for Huang Anchong, Sheng Yuan didn’t need to take action at all. If he(Yu Zuojin) couldn’t stand him, there were a hundred ways to get revenge, but he didn’t want to see the other person again or reminisce about that gray past.
Sheng Yuan could perceive the complexity in the depths of Yu Zuojin’s black eyes. He held his hand and said, “Yu Zuojin, as I mentioned before, feelings are mutual.”
The emotions in Yu Zuojin’s black pupils grew deeper, and like a beast, he used brute force to hold onto Sheng Yuan’s hand, making it impossible to refuse as he pulled Sheng Yuan into his embrace.
“Alright…alright, that’s enough.”
Sheng Yuan was squeezed between his arms. His whole body was being crushed, and he struggled to survive in the narrow space. He exerted effort to raise his head and asked him, “How did you come here?”
Yu Zuojin: “By bus.”
By bus? The latest bus arrived at ten o’clock, and it’s already one in the morning. Yu Zuojin has been here for over three hours!
Yu Zuojin arrived at ten o’clock, but after hesitating for a long time, he didn’t send a message, afraid of disturbing Sheng Yuan if he happened to be resting. Afterwards, he picked a time when he thought Sheng Yuan would be asleep and sent a message. If there was no reply, then he would let it go completely. If there was a reply, it meant he couldn’t sleep and could come out to see him.
He originally thought that Sheng Yuan was sleeping and didn’t hold much hope for them meeting.
But coincidences in the world are just so marvelous, and no one can predict them.
The youth stepped into his spring amid the cold wind of winter.
Spring said, “What a coincidence, I just arrived.”
Sheng Yuan: “Come back to the dormitory with me.”
Yu Zuojin shook his head.
He would leave in a while. He still had early self-study the next day, and he could rest at the station at night and take the earliest bus back at five o’clock.
He wanted to spend a little more time with Sheng Yuan, but when Sheng Yuan’s cold cheek touched his collar, he slightly moved away from him, took the bag off his neck, and handed it to Sheng Yuan, indicating that he should go back.
Sheng Yuan looked at the bag that was bulging at the corners and the edges being pushed to the limit. “What’s inside?”
Yu Zuojin didn’t answer, he only said, “It’s a bit heavy.”
How heavy could it be?
Sheng Yuan reached out to take it, but his arm immediately sank, and his whole arm felt heavy.
Sheng Yuan: “…”
Are you sure you didn’t stuff a watermelon inside?
Yu Zuojin effortlessly lifted it up, and he could even climb over the wall with it. Sheng Yuan’s arm felt sore and ached after holding it for a while, so he carried it on his shoulder.
Seeing that Sheng Yuan had put away the bag, Yu Zuojin glanced at him again and then turned to climb over the wall and leave.
Sheng Yuan watched his figure, feeling a certain indescribable sentiment, like a small water gun shooting water blossoms in his heart.
Yu Zuojin’s figure disappeared, and suddenly, Sheng Yuan seemed to regain his senses. He blinked at the empty wall, and suddenly, like a toy with its wind-up mechanism activated, he desired something.
He took a few steps back, took a running start, and tried to leap over the wall, but the heavy object on his body immediately pulled him back
Seeing Sheng Yuan stumble—
[System: Epic fail~~]
Sheng Yuan: “…”
Sheng Yuan quickly took off the bag and placed it on the ground. With his arms supporting him, he leaped up, sitting steadily on the wall with the moonlight shining upon him.
The other person hadn’t gone far yet.
“Hey! Yu Zuojin!”
The young man sat on the wall, with the dazzling moon above him, his handsome face radiating brilliance.
“A kiss before you go?”
Yu Zuojin paused in his tracks and turned back to look at Sheng Yuan.
His gaze was predatory, like that of a wolf.
Just before Truly Ambitious was blocked, it uttered it’s final words.
[System: Host, you’re bringing this upon yourself!]
