Chapter 1031:- Path of Redemption

Chapter 1031: Chapter 1031:- Path of Redemption

"Not even your uncle had killed this many." Aditya’s total killing count was almost 3 times higher than his uncle’s.

The implication was clear. If his uncle, who had killed 10 million, could not survive the Heavenly Tribulation that one faces when going from Peak 6th-order to Beginner 7th-order, then how could Aditya, who had already killed over 30 million, have any hope of passing the tribulation?

Just realising this fact, all the girls felt despair wash over them. "I just reunited with my son."

"I don’t want to lose my baby again." Elena covered her face with her palms and started weeping.

"Mom, please don’t cry." How can he hold any grudges for this woman? The way she still called him baby melted his heart.

Aditya gave her a gentle hug, which calmed her down.

He looked at his women, and even they were struggling to hold it together.

"Come on, it’s not like I am dead." Hearing these words, all three gave him a cold, hard glare, which immediately shut him.

’Did I say anything wrong?’ He did not understand why he received that kind of glare from all three at the same time. They gave their glare at such perfect synchronised timing that he felt for a moment that they had rehearsed this while he was away.

"You girls are worrying too much."

"We will start making preparations in advance."

"I am still just a Beginner 5th-order. You girls are worrying and crying about something that won’t ever happen." Aditya had teleportation and gravity powers, which his uncle did not have. Not to mention, he had the Dragon Palace and the Goddess of Alchemy by his side. With all those preparations, he refused to believe that he would fail the Heavenly Tribulation.

Once Aditya explained everything to the girls, everyone finally calmed down a little.

"Mom, how did Aunt die?"

"Ren’s mom also met the same fate as the mother-in-law and died during childbirth." That explains why Ren was so talented in cultivation. He had definitely inherited some of his father’s talent. But his father was still more talented than Ren.

Aditya’s mother then approached the girls and held their hands.

"Dragons are the strongest creatures in this entire world. Even a mortal Dragon is between 10 and 100 times stronger than a mortal human, depending upon their bloodline."

"This also means the childbirth of a Dragon is also between 10 and 100 times more difficult than the childbirth of a human. This difficulty only increases when a powerful dragon and a female of a different race try to have a child."

"This difficulty increases even more when the male dragon is a divine dragon."

"And you girls will have it even more difficult because Aditya is already this strong despite being just a beginner fifth-order cultivator."

Hearing the words that his mother spoke, all three girls suddenly became really nervous.

Even Aditya became very tense hearing this. ’Mom, do you really have to scare them like this?’ First, there was the tension of the girl’s survival during childbirth, and now the highest level of difficulty is just getting the entry ticket.

He was not a guy who did not like children. In fact, he had a very soft and sweet spot for children, and since his first life, he had always wanted to have children.

’But what’s the use of having children if it’s going to cost my women their lives?’ Yes, he loved children and would love to have children of his own, but having children at the cost of losing his woman was just unacceptable.

"The reason I’m saying all this is not to scare you all. But to prepare you, girls, for what is about to come."

’Your timing is way off.’ Aditya and others had the same thought.

"Don’t worry. I am here. I will guide you all through this difficult journey." She hasn’t even touched the topic of just how difficult it will be for them to get pregnant with Aditya’s children.

She and Alen tried to have children for almost 2000 years.

Boris and his wife tried to have children for almost 20,000 years before finally having Alen and later Ren’s father.

And who knows how long Aditya and his wives will need to try.

Scene Change______

"My first son lacks the authority and temper that a ruler should have." Alen knew and accepted this. As the Emperor, he was too soft, and he lacked the temperament that a King should have.

In fact, before his younger brother died, Alen had no thoughts about the Throne at all. He was perfectly alright with the position of Duke.

"My second son had my temper, but did not inherit my decisiveness that a ruler should have. He was too focused on cultivation and becoming the First Person to reach a 9th-order cultivator."

"My first grandson is too ambitious for the throne and is willing to do anything to protect his position. For the sake of the Throne, he harmed his own blood and sided with outsiders."

"Now, from my understanding, the only person who is worthy of taking over the Throne is my second grandson, someone whom you personally exiled," Boris spoke the last part while looking at Alen, who could only further lower his head.

"Father, we loved Ren like our own son. In the absence of brother and sister-in-law, we raised him as if he were our own child." The betrayal by Ren, whom they loved and raised like their own child, deeply hurt them. Because of this betrayal, there will forever be a distance between Aditya and them.

Maybe it will take a really long time for that distance to close. Or maybe they won’t ever be normal. Ren had taken the once in a life time previlage of raising their own child and watching him grow.

Because of him, they had missed 5 and a half crucial years of Aditya’s life. In those years, Aditya had become a different man. And they weren’t there when he needed them the most.

"We had blind trust in him, which he took advantage of."

"That’s because you were too soft." Boris’s one sentence completely shut Alen down. Even Alen knew that Boris was right.

"When I raised you two brothers, even though I loved you two the most, did I let that stop me from being harsh on your two?"

"There should be a balance between gentleness and strictness. And you failed to maintain that balance. You and your wife spoiled Ren so much that now the entire Celestial Dragon Empire is on the brink of a civil war."

"For the first time in 100,000 years, there will be a civil war. The last time there was a civil war was when my grandfather had no other choice but to fight against his brother, who wanted to bring changes to the Empire, and those changes in the long term would self-destruct the Empire."

"All the casualties... all the lives that will be taken in this civil war... You will carry a part of that as well. Half of it will be on you."

Alen has never felt this heavy in his life. Even when he was the Emperor, he did not feel this much weight.

Boris stared at his son in silence and waited for him to say something or make some kind of decision. He was giving Alen a chance. A chance to redeem himself and regain his lost respect.

Alen stared at his feet in silence while his mind kept thinking.

When given the option to choose between his son and someone whom he raised like his son, he would always go for his own blood. ’My son has endured too much because I was incompetent.’

Alen tightly clenched his fists and bravely looked at Boris. There was no fear or hesitation on his face anymore.

"I will accept everything. For the sake of the greater good, for the sake of redemption and for my son’s future, I will accept this weight."

"I will accept the weight of all casualties."

"I will accept the weight of all deaths."

"I will accept the weight of all casualties and the weight of all deaths from Aditya’s side."

This sentence broke Boris’s expression. It forced him to sit upright. "Those who support Ren are traitors and won’t be given a chance for redemption. Their deaths will be on themselves. They made a choice and paid the price for it."

But that would not end Alen’s redemption. After this civil war ends, he needs to help his son completely rebuild everything. All the damages done to the Empire must be fixed. He won’t rest until every last brick of the Empire is fixed and the scars of the civil war are removed from the hearts and minds of the Celestial Dragon Empire’s people.

"Good!" Boris finally had a soft smile on his face.

’Stupid son of mine, if you had this fire and determination in you, then no one would have dared to try to control your mind.’ But the good thing was that even if it was late, Alen had finally changed. He had found his resolve, which gave him a clear purpose and determination to complete it.’
