Chapter 1047:- End of the Funeral

Chapter 1047: Chapter 1047:- End of the Funeral

Every once in a while, people would turn their heads toward the entrance. By now, most of them had become somewhat numb to everything happening around them. One after another, they had witnessed the arrival of powerful and important figures that they would normally never even get the chance to see in their lifetime.

They had seen major and influential Sect Leaders. They had seen three Goddesses appear in person. They had even witnessed the presence of old legendary figures whose names were known across generations. On top of that, the Emperor himself had arrived, and finally, they had seen just how much the exiled Crown Prince had changed.

After witnessing so many overwhelming figures one after another, the shock had slowly faded, leaving behind a strange sense of disbelief. At some point, it almost started to feel like a competition, as if each new arrival was trying to outdo the previous one with an even more impactful entrance.

And everyone felt the one whose entrance had the most impact was Aditya.

And the reason for that needs no explanation

"I’m sorry for being late."

"Alfred, you’re late." The original plan was for Alfred to meet them, and he would accompany Aditya and everyone to the Funeral. But unexpectedly, Alfred was late.

Boris was genuinely surprised, but also pleased, to see his old friend Alfred here. It had been a long time since they had last met. Back when Boris was preparing to step down from the throne, he had personally chosen Alfred for an important role. He wanted someone capable and trustworthy to stay by his son’s side and guide him after he was gone, and Alfred was the one he trusted the most for that responsibility.

Boris had taken Alfred in and trained him himself. He did not just want a butler who could manage daily affairs, but someone who was sharp, disciplined, and strong enough to handle difficult situations. While Alfred did not excel much in cultivation compared to others, he showed exceptional talent in administrative work and decision-making. In many ways, he was far more valuable where it truly mattered.

Boris had no issue with that at all. For him, finding someone as loyal and dependable as Alfred was far more important than raw strength. Over the centuries leading up to his retirement, the two of them grew closer and eventually became good friends. In fact, it was Alfred who had insisted that Boris continue ruling the empire for a few more decades, as he believed that Alen was not yet ready to take on such a heavy responsibility.

"My apologies. On my way here, I was attacked by some thugs." These days, Alfred was constantly travelling back and forth between the capital of the Istarin Empire and the Main Continent. It had become a routine for him, something he had to do again and again despite the risks involved. The distance itself was not the real problem for someone of his level.

The real danger lay in the journey itself. It was never safe. At every step, he had to stay alert and cautious, always aware that the members of the Organisation could be watching him. Even with careful disguises and changing routes, avoiding their scouts was not something he could take lightly. One small mistake could expose his position.

And even if he managed to slip past them without being noticed, that did not mean he was safe. The routes between regions were filled with bandits and rogue cultivators who preyed on travellers. At any moment, he could be ambushed. At some point, he was bound to be attacked, and today it happened.

"Are you all right?"

"I received some minor injuries, but those are nothing." The Alfred who had been held captive before was in a very weak state. At that time, he would have struggled even against a Beginner 5th-order cultivator. His body was drained, his strength was suppressed, and he was nowhere near his true capability.

But after spending more than two months resting and recovering at the Dragon Palace, everything began to change. Not only did he fully regain his lost strength, but his overall condition improved beyond what it was before. His control, endurance, and combat ability all became much better, allowing his true power to stabilise and grow.

On top of that, Aditya personally crafted special artifacts for him and enhanced his armour and weapon with powerful runes. These enhancements further boosted his combat strength. And now that he had become a Dragonian, his physical abilities had risen to another level. With all of these combined, Alfred was no longer the same person as before. At his current level, he was fully capable of fighting against a Beginner 7th-order cultivator.

"Alfred!" Boris and Alfred shared a brotherly hug. It has been more than two decades since the two last saw each other.

"You look older than me." Boris added while laughing.

"If you were in my position, despite your cultivation, you would look way older than me." Hearing this, Boris laughed out loud. There were probably a few people in this world with whom Boris could laugh this openly. Most had decided to enter Seclusion and were busy with their lives. And Alfred was one of them.

Despite his role as a butler of the emperor, Alfred did a wide range of things.

Most importantly, he was a Seer!

A seer was someone with the ability to see glimpses of the future, but only after a certain period of time. Not to mention, activating disability always left him in a weekend state for a few months.

Alfred then turned to Aditya. "Your Majesty, it seems like I missed everything." Aditya just smiled in response.

Through Rin’s spiritual world, Aditya kept updating Alfred. If the girls came to the Tunnel World, then he would have been able to meet his family and Spencer.

Previously, there were three main factions in this civil war. The largest and most dominant faction was the one that supported Emperor Ren. In terms of numbers, this side held the advantage, with around 48% of the Dukes and Duchesses standing behind him.

On the other side, there was the faction that supported Aditya. Although smaller, it was still a powerful group, making up about 39% of the Dukes and Duchesses. While they did not have the majority, their influence and strength could not be underestimated.

The remaining 13% chose to stay neutral. These nobles avoided taking a clear stance and instead observed the situation carefully. They were waiting for the right moment. The good thing for Aditya was that after seeing everything, except for a few noble houses, the rest decided to support Aditya.

Those who did not support Aditya and the few who decided to remain neutral left. Leaving Aditya with his supporters.

It was just as he had expected, asking the Goddess of War to come and bringing Boris with him had a lot of effect in convincing the nobles to join his side. Now he had more than 50% supports from the nobles, and it meant that the Charter of Noble Reinstatement could be signed.

"Alfred, when will the Charter of Noble Reinstatement be ready?" Aditya asked. In the spiritual world, Aditya had already met Duke Cassian, Duke Ferdinand, and many other dukes. These Dukes stood strongly against the Emperor, and Aditya knew that they had the highest chance of joining his side if he could convince them.

As for the Ashen Covenant led by the Harrington Family, Aditya did not meet them, as there was no need to ask for their loyalty. He knew that Harrington’s side would give him the most support in this civil war.

From the beginning, the Ashen Covenant side remained loyal to Aditya.

"It will be ready by tonight," Alfred replied calmly. To ensure this, he had quietly slipped into the Capital and arranged for a few trusted Royal Officials to prepare the document without drawing any attention.

"Everyone, I would like to take this moment to sincerely thank all of you for your support. Our first step from here will be to proceed with the signing of the Charter of Noble Reinstatement. For that, I ask each of you to gather at the Harrington household, where we will complete the signatures and also hold a meeting to discuss our next course of action and future plans."

The Harrington house was a stronghold that not even the Emperor would dare to attack. This was the perfect place for them to plan their next move.

Also, Harrington was Aditya’s grandfather. It was natural that rather than staying in the territory of any other Duke, he would stay in his Grandfather’s house until the civil war ended.

One by one, people began to leave the area. However, not everyone chose to walk away immediately. Some of them saw this as a rare opportunity and decided to approach Aditya directly.

Their purpose was clear. They wanted pills crafted by the Goddess of Alchemy. These were not ordinary requests, and they knew that chances like this did not come often. Aditya, on the other hand, did not reject them outright. He was willing to agree, but he made one condition very clear. They would have to provide the necessary herbs and materials required to create the pills.

After all, the pills they were asking for were extremely rare and difficult to produce. These were not something that could be made easily or in large quantities. If they had only needed common or simple pills, they would never have come to him in the first place.

So the condition of asking them to provide the herbs wasn’t unreasonable. Everyone immediately agreed.

Really, thank you very much to all those who sent support with valuable golden tickets and gifts. I hope we can keep it up!!!
