Chapter 1071:- False Call

Chapter 1071:- False Call

"For me, there is nothing more tempting than a good reward. I just need to fight you and kill you, then my sect will receive more wealth than it could ever spend in the next 10,000 years. How can I possibly pass out on such a huge reward?"

Harrington took out his greatsword while coldly staring at the two.

"The best reward you will get today is your death." Harrington released his horrifying killing intent.

He knew that his killing intent alone could kill normal citizens. But right now, he did not care. He only cared about killing the bastard who decided to mess with him and his family. He held hope in his heart that while he fought these two, the troops of his Family would evacuate the civilians from the area, so the casualties would be diminished.

"We will see." Renji just laughed while bringing out a dark spear. It was his weapon.

"Don’t get too arrogant. This is Malakor Harrington." Said the member of the organisation who remained silent till now.

Renji have spent the last 20 hours with this man. He understood that this man only spoke when it was absolutely necessary. If he was warning about something, then he had to take it seriously.

Harrington paused and took a moment to look at the mysterious man.

"What is your name?" He felt like he knew this man. His voice kind of felt familiar to him.

"You wouldn’t believe me even if I showed you." The man replied in a cold tone.

Hearing this, he narrowed his eyes and stared at the man in silence for a few seconds before noticing that Renji tried to use this moment to attack him.

Harrington used the great sword to easily block the incoming attack.

Clang!

"Sect Leader, you are still too inexperienced." Both of them fought around a few hundred years back during a competition where all hell broke loose when a student of his Sect disrespected and insulted the entire Harrington family.

At that time, Malakor and Renji fought head-to-head. And Malakor Harrington nearly killed the Sect Leader if not for his son-in-law stopping him.

"You old bastard, why don’t you just die?" Renji’s next wave of attacks reflected his frustration and anger at being called inexperienced by Harrington. He was a proud leader of a powerful sect, yet in front of Harrington, he always felt inferior. He always felt the skill difference between them made their difference feel like the difference between a teenage boy and an adult.

Clang!!!

Clang!! Clang!!!

But Harrington effortlessly blocked and deflected each and every attack from Renji. After a while, Renji calmed down and stopped about 100 meters away from Harrington.

"Brother, we agreed to fight Harrington together?" He did not want to say it in a way that would seem like he was angry and complaining that he was fighting Malakor all alone. He tried his best to keep his tone neutral so that the mysterious member of the organisation who seemed to have a connection with Harrington wouldn’t think that he was pissed.

"My apologies!" The mysterious man calmly walked and stood next to Renji.

"To activate a certain passive skill of mine, I have to chant an incantation for 30 seconds." Before this whole incantation chanting process used to take more than 150 seconds. But with training, he was able to cut down its timing to just 30 seconds.

"Is it ready then?" Renji asked in a hopeful tone. The current him at most would be able to fight Harrington for a few minutes before falling short. Or less than a few minutes if Harrington takes him seriously.

"It’s ready."

"Death is the only end you two will receive today." Harrington became relaxed and activated a few passive skills at the same time.

Scene Change_____

"Sophia, mind telling me what the organisation is planning to do tonight?" Boris sat on the flat rooftop. Before they fought, he wanted to ask a few questions and hopefully get some answers out of her mouth.

When he came here, Sophia was already waiting for him.

"Your Majesty, I can’t do that. But if you lose this fight, I would have no problem answering three questions of yours before I kill you."

"Little girl of the Night Rider Sect, you have grown bolder since the last time I saw you." Boris had seen Sophia when she was just 11 years old. No matter what position or status she was in, in his eyes, she would always be the little girl that he saw all those years back.

The reason he remembered her as a kid is because of her cold temperament and her outstanding talent. Unfortunately, she was an asset to a neighbouring Kingdom that soon collapsed just a few hundred years after their meeting.

Sophia did not get angry. She felt that if there was anyone who had the right to call her that, then it would be Boris. Despite standing on opposing sides, Sophia had immense respect and awe for this legendary figure.

"It’s such a shame that we are standing on two polar opposite sides of history."

"Leave the Organisation." Boris casually asked, not that he expected her to react positively to this and immediately switch sides. He wasn’t that naive.

"The organisation has been a part of my life since I was 12. I have a deeper bond with the organisation than I have with my own Night Rider Sect." It was only in the last several centuries that she assumed the role of a part-timer within the organisation. This is mainly because Leo needed her to focus more on her cultivation and her duties as the Sect Leader than on completing missions for the Organisation that could be completed by other members.

"Such a shame." A red light condensed into his left palm. The red light then took the shape of a sword. Finally, a red heavy sword formed in his palm. The entire process took less than a second.

’This is the famous Devil Sword.’ This was her first time seeing the sword.

The sword itself is nothing extraordinary other than being a 7-star weapon. Because Boris used this sword his entire life, the reputation of this sword was well known by every big powerhouse within the Main Continent.

Boris stood up, holding the Devil Sword. "You know, I was on the path to dying. Nature was going to claim my life within a few decades while I was sleeping. Then my grandson showed up and made me realise that there was so much to this life that I am still missing out on."

"I have protected my grandson from those who have bad intentions towards him." Boris also looked forward to seeing the future that his grandson will build. In his mind, Aditya was a more talented and capable Emperor than him. From the little things that he learned from everyone, Boris had become very curious about what kind of changes his grandson would bring to the world.

Also, he was especially fond of Aditya more than he was towards Ren. Even though Ren was the son of his beloved son, he loved Aditya more and had more affection towards Aditya. And Ren’s despicable acts towards his own family made him lose the little bit of feeling he had towards his grandson.

Swooosh!!!!!

Scene Change______

"What do you mean by Vardy is not here?" The maid trembled under Wahid’s stern gaze.

"Sir, just a little while back, Commander Vardy received words that a horde of magic animals was charging towards the city. So he took most of the Harrington family’s army to fight the horde of magic animals."

Hearing this, Athena was sure that this was a false alarm to get Vardy and most of the troops out of the city.

"It was a trap."

"I am sure by now Commander Vardy has also realised that this is a trap. But because of this mysterious barrier, he is stuck outside and is unable to return to the city." Everyone’s expression became grim. The situation was worse than they had thought.

They were trapped in their own fortress.

The organisation had planned everyone throughly.

Wahid could not refuse what Athena said because, from Aditya, they learned that the organisation had a habit of planting scouts. So most likely, there were scouts working for the organisation within the Harrington family as well.

"Why didn’t Vardy inform you about this?" Aditya asked.

"Because, given the geography of Axel City, we are used to being attacked by the Horde of Magic Animals. There are attacks almost every night. So instead of wasting time informing me, I had asked Commander Vardy to lead the army to crush the Magic Animals as soon as possible to minimise casualties."

"I had no idea that the organisation would take advantage of this," Wahid spoke in a regretful tone.
