Chapter 1222:- Gu Worm

Chapter 1222: Chapter 1222:- Gu Worm

Aditya then took out a Sixth Star healing potion from his storage ring and handed it to Elara. However, after looking at the condition of her crushed throat and injured hand, he quickly realised that expecting her to drink it herself was rather unreasonable.

Aditya smiled awkwardly before signalling for her to open her mouth. Elara understood his intention and opened her mouth with difficulty. He brought the bottle to her lips and slowly poured the entire healing potion into her mouth.

The moment the green, sparkly, glowing potion entered her body, its powerful healing properties immediately took effect. The damaged parts of her throat began repairing themselves piece by piece. Crushed bones and cartilage were forcefully pulled back into their proper positions before gradually fusing together again.

Unfortunately for Elara, the healing process was even more painful than the injuries themselves.

Her entire body trembled as the damaged structures in her throat were forcibly rearranged and restored. She desperately wanted to scream, but her throat was still in the middle of healing, leaving her unable to produce anything more than a strained sound. The process lasted only around thirty seconds, yet to Elara, those thirty seconds felt painfully long.

Finally, her airway completely healed.

“Haaaah…!”

Elara immediately took an enormous breath, greedily sucking air into her lungs before exhaling and taking another. After spending the last several minutes slowly suffocating, something as simple as being able to breathe normally again brought an overwhelming sense of relief.

For the first time since Aditya had crushed her throat, Elara felt as though life had returned to her body.

Aditya ignored Elara and turned his attention toward his parents. Now that her injuries were gradually healing, he knew she would have no difficulty breaking free from the chains restraining her. She was still a Peak Sixth Order cultivator, after all.

For several seconds, Aditya simply stood there and stared at Alen and Elena. Seeing them physically standing before him after so many years brought emotions that were difficult to describe.

Aditya had already met and spoken with his parents several times within Rin’s spiritual world, but those meetings had taken place within a world of dreams. No matter how realistic those encounters had felt, their physical bodies had still been trapped here.

This meeting was different. His parents were actually standing in front of him. Aditya could reach out and touch them. He could finally take them away from this place and bring them home.

Yet there was no happiness on Alen’s or Elena’s faces. Neither reacted to their son’s presence. They simply stood where Aditya had placed them, their eyes open but completely empty, almost like dolls waiting for someone to tell them what to do next.

Seeing them like this was heartbreaking. After everything Aditya had learned, he had desperately hoped to find them and finally reunite with them properly. Instead, he had found two empty puppets whose minds were still trapped under the control of Ren and the Mysterious Organisation.

Meanwhile, Elara managed to free herself from the chains and slowly stood up. The Sixth Star healing potion was rapidly repairing her injuries, but recovering completely would still take some time. Her throat and internal injuries were healing well, but one injury was far more complicated.

And that was her hand. Elara did not even want to look at it.

Aditya had chopped apart much of her palm and fingers as casually as someone slicing vegetables into thin pieces. A healing potion could repair damaged flesh and broken bones, but it could not simply recreate large portions of a hand that were no longer attached to her body. Recovering from something like that would require a different method.

Elara slowly walked behind Aditya. She watched Alen and Elena for several seconds before finally speaking.

“Master.” Aditya gave her a side glance before turning his attention to his parents.

“I might know what was used to control them.” Elara looked toward the former Emperor and Empress.

“I believe it’s something called a Gu.”

“A Gu?” Aditya repeated while turning back to look at his slave’s expression. It was as if he wanted to see if she was lying. Despite knowing that because of the soul-binding contract, she could not lie to her, he wanted to read the expression on her face.

Elara nodded. “It’s a type of parasitic creature used in certain cultivation methods. There are many kinds of Gu, and not all of them are used for the same purpose. But the one inside them should be a type specifically bred for controlling another person’s mind.”

Hearing this, Aditya’s expression immediately became serious. He had never heard of Gu before. This might have something to do with his lack of knowledge or the fact that Gu worms or stuff like those are things that most cultivators don’t know about.

“The Gu can be extremely small before entering its victim. These worms are small enough that someone could swallow them without realising anything was mixed into their food or drink. Once it enters the body, it doesn’t immediately take control. It settles inside the victim and gradually takes root near the heart.”

“Once it matures, the Gu establishes control over the victim. Depending on the type, the person controlling the Gu can influence their thoughts, emotions, memories, or actions. A sufficiently powerful one can reduce the victim to exactly what you’re seeing right now.”

Hearing this, Aditya’s fists slowly tightened. “How do you know this?” He asked because he was starting to suspect that this woman might be someone from the organisation or someone very close to Ren. Otherwise, how would she have this information?

“I found out accidentally. I wasn’t told what was done to them. But I have heard about Gu before, and after spending so much time guarding His Former Majesty Emperor Alen and Her Former Majesty Empress Elena, I noticed the similarities.”

She gestured toward their blank expressions. “Their behaviour matches the traits of someone whose body has been completely taken over by a mature mind-controlling Gu. The empty expression, the lack of independent response, and the way they only act when directed are all signs.”

Aditya silently turned back toward his parents. If Elara was correct, then the problem was no longer simply breaking some kind of mind-control technique. There was something physically living inside his parents’ bodies.

‘This is way more complicated than I thought.’ Aditya thought to himself.

The Dragon Monarch remained silent for a few seconds. His gaze stayed fixed on his parents before he finally asked, “Is there any method to remove the Gu from their bodies?”

Elara shook her head. “I don’t personally know how to remove one, especially a Gu this powerful. Judging from their condition, whatever was placed inside them isn’t an ordinary Gu.”

Aditya frowned but remained silent, allowing her to continue. “From what I have read, certain potions can kill a Gu without directly harming the person carrying it, but only an extraordinary alchemist would be capable of creating something like that.”

“The potion essentially acts as a toxin specifically against the Gu. After being consumed, its properties enter the bloodstream and circulate throughout the body.”

Elara looked toward Alen and Elena before continuing. “Since the Gu has taken root near the heart, it can’t easily escape. As the affected blood continuously passes through that area, the toxin gradually attacks and dissolves the Gu from within. Depending on how powerful and mature the Gu is, the process can take anywhere from several hours to a few days.”

“And after it dies?”

“The remains still have to be removed. From what I remember, purification pills or a purification potion are taken afterwards. They help cleanse the body and remove whatever remains of the dead Gu. But that’s about as much as I know. I have never personally seen the process performed.”

After hearing everything, Aditya slowly nodded. Surprisingly, he did not feel hopeless after hearing this. In fact, knowing that there was a possible method was already enough.

After all, he happened to have someone right by his side who stood at the absolute, undisputed peak of the entire alchemy world.

And that extraordinary person was Julia! The Goddess of Alchemy.

If there was anyone in the entire universe Aditya trusted without a shred of doubt to carefully examine his parents, identify the exact species of Gu that had taken root inside them, and successfully refine a legendary potion capable of killing the parasite without harming them in the slightest, it was her.

All he needed to do right now was safely break his parents out of the Imperial Royal Palace and escape this dangerous place. After that, he could bring Julia straight to the Main Continent and give her whatever unlimited time, rare ingredients, and medical resources she needed to find a permanent solution.
