Chapter 1250: Chapter 1250:- Enemy Troubled by the Goddess of Wisdom

While Malakor Harrington and the three Seventh Order cultivators were facing each other, the atmosphere around the crater had become extremely tense. Malakor was still holding the Puppet Master by his throat, while one of the Seventh Order cultivators had grabbed his wrist to prevent him from killing the injured man. Neither side showed any intention of backing down, and it seemed that a fight between them could break out at any moment.

However, just as the situation was about to become even more serious, something unexpected suddenly happened on another part of the battlefield.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!

An extremely loud explosion suddenly shook the entire battlefield. The sound was so powerful that it could be heard from several kilometers away. Even the ground beneath their feet trembled slightly, while a powerful shockwave spread outward from the direction of the explosion.

The sudden explosion immediately caught the attention of Malakor Harrington and the three Seventh Order cultivators. All four of them turned their heads toward the direction of the sound almost at the same time.

In the distance, a huge cloud of dust and smoke was rising into the sky. Even from their current position, they could clearly see that something extremely powerful had struck that part of the battlefield. The explosion was far larger than the attacks normally used by the lower-order cultivators fighting in the war.

For a brief moment, none of the four Seventh Order cultivators said anything. Their earlier confrontation was temporarily forgotten as they focused their attention on the distant explosion.

Even Malakor, who had been preparing to kill the Puppet Master only a moment earlier, narrowed his eyes slightly as he tried to understand what had just happened.

The three Seventh Order cultivators were equally surprised. Although powerful explosions were common on a battlefield involving hundreds of thousands of cultivators, the sheer force of this particular explosion was enough to attract their attention.

Meanwhile, the soldiers fighting near the location of the explosion had also stopped for a brief moment. Many of them instinctively turned their heads toward the enormous cloud of smoke rising into the sky, wondering what could have caused such a powerful blast.

However, because of the thick dust and smoke covering that part of the battlefield, nobody could immediately see what had happened.

Scene Change______

Meanwhile, on another part of the battlefield, around one hundred seconds before Malakor Harrington’s confrontation with the three Seventh Order cultivators, Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom, was facing an extremely difficult situation.

At that moment, Athena was surrounded by ten powerful Sixth Order cultivators from the Emperor Faction. All ten of them were working together to prevent her from escaping their encirclement. Although Athena was powerful enough to fight against Sixth Order cultivators, dealing with ten of them at the same time was an entirely different matter.

What made the situation even more frustrating was that Athena could clearly see what was happening to Lilith and Amelia in the distance. Both women were struggling against the Puppet Master’s two powerful puppets, and judging from their injuries and increasingly slower movements, Athena could tell that they were in serious trouble.

Athena wanted to rush over and help them. However, every time she tried to move in their direction, one or two of the Sixth Order cultivators would immediately block her path. The remaining cultivators would then attack her from different directions, forcing her to focus on defending herself.

The ten cultivators had clearly prepared themselves for this battle. They were not fighting Athena individually or trying to defeat her through brute strength. Instead, they were working together to keep her trapped in one place.

And there was a very good reason why the Emperor Faction had decided to send ten Sixth Order cultivators against a single opponent. Among all the powerful cultivators fighting for the Anti-Emperor Faction, Athena was one of the most troublesome enemies they had encountered.

This was not simply because of her personal fighting strength. Although Athena was capable of defeating powerful Sixth Order cultivators, her greatest contribution to the battlefield came from something entirely different.

It was her intelligence. As the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena possessed an extraordinary ability to understand what was happening around her. She could observe the movements of thousands of soldiers, notice weaknesses in enemy formations, predict their next actions, and immediately come up with ways to counter them.

Since the beginning of the battle, Athena had been doing much more than simply fighting against powerful enemies. She had also taken responsibility for directing a large section of the Anti-Emperor Faction’s army.

While fighting, she was constantly observing the battlefield and sending orders to the commanders responsible for the soldiers fighting under her direction.

“Third Division, stop advancing! Move your shield soldiers to the front and have the spearmen prepare behind them. The enemy cavalry is about to attack your right side!” Athena shouted while blocking an attack from an enemy Sixth Order cultivator.

The commander of the Third Division immediately followed her instructions. Within seconds, the soldiers changed their formation, placing their heavily armored shield soldiers at the front while the spearmen stood behind them with their weapons pointed forward.

Just as Athena had predicted, a large group of enemy cavalry suddenly charged toward their right side. However, instead of finding an unprotected opening in the Anti-Emperor Faction’s formation, they were greeted by a wall of shields and hundreds of sharp spears.

The cavalry soldiers at the front were unable to stop their charge in time. Their horses crashed into the shields, while several riders were pierced by the spears waiting behind them. The soldiers following from behind were forced to slow down, causing their entire charge to lose its strength.

“Now! Archers, target the cavalry at the back! Don’t let them retreat!” Athena immediately ordered after noticing that the enemy cavalry had lost its momentum.

Following her command, hundreds of archers standing behind the defensive formation immediately released their arrows. A large number of arrows flew through the sky before falling directly onto the enemy cavalry.

Because the cavalry soldiers were trapped between the shield wall in front of them and their own soldiers behind them, they had very little room to escape. Within a short period, a large number of them were killed, while the remaining soldiers were forced to retreat in disorder.

And this was only one example of how Athena had been helping the Anti-Emperor Faction.

Whenever the Emperor Faction attempted to attack a weak point in their formation, Athena would notice it and immediately send reinforcements to that location. If the enemy tried to surround one of their divisions, she would order the nearby soldiers to change their positions before the encirclement could be completed.

If the enemy concentrated too many soldiers in one area, Athena would immediately identify another part of their formation that had become weaker as a result.

She would then order the Anti-Emperor Faction’s soldiers to attack that weak point, forcing the enemy commanders to either abandon their original plan or risk having their formation broken.

“Fourth Division, move fifty meters to your left! Don’t chase the retreating soldiers. They’re trying to lure you into a trap!” Athena shouted while avoiding another attack from one of the Sixth Order cultivators.

The commander of the Fourth Division immediately ordered his soldiers to stop pursuing the retreating enemies. Only a few seconds later, a large group of enemy soldiers suddenly appeared from behind a small hill. They had been waiting for the Anti-Emperor Faction’s soldiers to continue their pursuit so that they could attack them from both sides.

However, because Athena had already noticed their movements, the trap failed completely. Instead of finding a group of soldiers who had carelessly rushed forward, the Emperor Faction’s soldiers discovered that their opponents had already prepared a defensive formation.

“Second Division, send two thousand soldiers to support the Fourth Division! Attack those enemies from their left side while they’re focused on the soldiers in front of them!” Athena immediately gave another order.

Following her instructions, two thousand soldiers quickly moved toward the enemy’s exposed side. The Emperor Faction’s soldiers, who had originally planned to surround the Fourth Division, suddenly found themselves being attacked from two different directions.

As a result, their formation began falling apart, and they were forced to retreat after suffering heavy casualties.

Athena was also carefully managing the number of soldiers fighting at the front. Whenever she noticed that a group of soldiers was becoming exhausted, she would order them to retreat behind the formation and allow fresh soldiers to take their place. This prevented the soldiers at the front from becoming too tired to defend themselves properly.

She also made sure that injured soldiers were quickly moved away from the fighting whenever possible. Instead of allowing them to remain at the front and risk being killed, she ordered nearby soldiers to protect their retreat while healers treated their injuries.

At the same time, Athena was making sure that the soldiers were not wasting their strength or mana unnecessarily.

“Don’t use your strongest attacks against ordinary soldiers! Save your mana for the enemy’s powerful cultivators! Archers, focus on the enemy commanders and the soldiers carrying their banners!” Athena ordered while keeping an eye on the movements of the enemy army.

Athena understood that killing an enemy commander could sometimes be more useful than killing dozens of ordinary soldiers. Without someone giving clear orders, the enemy soldiers would become confused, and their formation would become much easier to break.

Similarly, destroying the enemy’s banners would make it harder for their soldiers to identify where their commanders wanted them to move, especially in such a large and chaotic battlefield.

Athena was also paying close attention to the movements of the enemy’s stronger cultivators. Whenever she noticed a Fifth Order cultivator attempting to attack a group of weaker soldiers, she would immediately send someone of similar strength to intercept that person.

This prevented the Emperor Faction’s powerful cultivators from freely killing the Anti-Emperor Faction’s lower-order soldiers. And whenever an enemy Sixth Order cultivator appeared in her area, Athena would personally move to stop them if no one else was available.

In fact, before the ten Sixth Order cultivators had surrounded her, Athena had already defeated several powerful enemies who had attempted to break through the Anti-Emperor Faction’s defensive lines.

What made her even more troublesome was that she could continue giving orders while fighting. Even when she was exchanging attacks with a powerful Sixth Order cultivator, a part of her attention would remain focused on the surrounding battlefield. She would constantly observe the movements of the soldiers and adjust her orders depending on how the situation changed.
