Dungeon of Lust: Managing Otherworldly Beauties

Chapter 182: Origin Crew

Chapter 182: Origin Crew

Mias looked like he was ready to float up and leave, ready to investigate, but Vale had one last question:

"Who were you referring to when you said ten?"

Mias smiled.

"When you said ’Origin Crew’ and I said ten? I was referring to those whom you knew as the Vice, alongside Despair, the Nameless King, and Hope. However, Hope was more or less forced into the plot by Sloth. But, sadly, while I knew their main motive, I knew not of their individual motives or of their success stories."

’I see...’

Vale’s eyes narrowed as he attempted to digest everything as the information swirled and mangled in his brain.

"So, are Hope, that ’Nameless King,’ and Despair here on Pandora?"

Mias leaned forward and said:

"I’m not sure... I’m certain that if either Despair or Hope were here, the world would know. Their existence would threaten the world’s balance. As for the Nameless King..."

Mias held an odd, contemptive look as he said the last one’s title.

"As for him, he still lives on Kaldora, he having cut himself and his country off from the world with a barrier."

’I’ve thought it before, and I’ll think it again... What kind of pompous asshole do you have to be to call yourself the Nameless King?’

"That so?"

Vale dipped his head down...

He had no idea what any of this information suggested for him, but he had an inkling it wasn’t as far from him as it seemed.

"There was another guy you mentioned. Carver, was his name? Was he not part of the Origin Crew if he found his way here as well?"

Mias nearly laughed:

"Carver? On a level of those ten? Laughable!"

’Wow... Mias has someone he dislikes? I didn’t know he had it in him.’

A moment later, Mias continued:

"After learning more about you and the dungeons, I’ve concluded that the only way he’d end up here is by being summoned by one of your fellow Vice..."

’That would make sense...’

Mias shrugged, then added:

"By my guess, it would be Pride, Envy, Greed, or Wrath who summoned him. Perhaps he is one of the Vice himself, though I doubt it."

’So... anyone but Sloth?’

And Gluttony, because they weren’t around by the time Carver came to Pandora. They still may not be.

"What about that guy’s father? You said something about him? Salome even offered to tell you a tale about that guy? Was he not legendary as well? He wasn’t part of the Origin Crew?"

Mias’s expression evened out.

"Ixion...? That horrifying man was a weird one..."

Mias went on to tell Vale what he knew about the enigmatic, outgoing, and treacherous King of Catatran.

’That guy... he sounds like an absolute lunatic?!’

’Who the hell thinks to do all of that?! Who the hell looks at absolute power and death, and laughs in its face?!’

Mias had been talking about Despair and Hope as if they were untouchable existences.

’Yet this man vehemently defied them? And, in a sense, won?’

But where had he gone?

Someone that impressive hadn’t an Origin surrounding him?

Was he still alive?

Had he fled to Pandora as well?

Was he dead?

What happened to him?

Not even Mias knew.

Vale walked around and divided tasks among the workers.

With most of the mining completed, Vale had assigned a few to begin developing specific trades.

With the help of Mias, they’d discovered and developed a few new Traits for the little guys and gals.

They now had a Weaver, a Tailor, and an Engineer!

Though all three of those imps, which had acquired them, were still in their Nascent stages of learning.

As for Ruby and Ember’s smithing ventures...

They were going alright.

With their stockpile of coal, Mias had finally been able to demonstrate the process in practice.

Ember had even successfully created a crude pugio from the iron links.

Though it had no proper handle...

It seemed they needed a way for the smiths to work wood as well as find a strong glue.

Beyond that...

None of the imps had increased in Level, confusing Vale even more.

He had a couple of theories and ideas, but no proof.

In any case, Larry and his crew had been tasked with furnishing and decorating the lounge.

Vale was excited to see what those four would produce...

Vale smiled as he sat on his throne and looked over Level 9.

Not that he wished to try it yet, but he was simply curious about the threat.

Level: [9]

Enemies:

[Emergent Mutant: 30]

[Emergent Monster: 15]

[Nascent Wretch: 5]

[Would you like to challenge Level 9?]

’Yikes.’

It looked quite hard. But he’d be handsomely rewarded.

’Perhaps I’ll even get the bonus Aether again.’

While that was something unique to the last Level, perhaps that trend would continue.

"No"

Vale rose and walked to the Crystal Prison, looking at Ximena.

Then, he started to tell her the tale of all that had happened.

He told her of his attack on the village, Mias’s dumb plot, Awilix and Toy’s fight.

Then he went on about the latest level and the new addition to the Legion’s roster.

Though he left out the details that led to that new addition.

Finally, he added what happened to Mias and then Greed’s encroachment on the dungeon.

When he was done, he took out Ximena’s fabric sash, still soaked in Awilix’s blood, and draped it over a small table he’d set nearby.

He apologized for having used it as a bandage, but surely the crystal owl would forgive him for that!

’...’

The sash would be there waiting for her once she was freed.

Vale turned around and sauntered to the middle of the room.

There was one last thing he needed to accomplish before Greed arrived, if she was coming to him as he thought.

[Ember of Lust]...

Vale was going to attempt to understand it.

Not simply learn more, but truly evolve the Trait.
