Dungeon of Lust: Managing Otherworldly Beauties

Chapter 193: Beginning of a Long Two Weeks

Chapter 193: Beginning of a Long Two Weeks

’This is...’

When Vale heard the messages of slaughter, he’d assumed it to be the scout, as Greed described the other one as too large to fit in the dungeon.

But the second Champion, a massive stone golem named Runcal, could fit. Just not easily.

Runcal couldn’t stand, having to crawl around on his hands and knees, but despite that limitation, it was he who dispatched the forces of the Level with ease.

But that wasn’t the weirdest part about this particular Champion. He was...

’A healer?’

Beyond the occupation that didn’t fit his form...

Vale and Greed had walked back through the dungeon to find Runcal lying on his stomach while wiggling his feet with a smile on his stone face, talking to Toy.

’Never make assumptions, huh...’

Juniper, the scout Champion who looked like a pine tree, was silently on Runcal’s back.

Greed gave Juniper his order to fetch Pykon.

An operation that would take two weeks at the very least because they had to make a long detour to avoid the Lost Expanse.

’That place...’

The place where the marked Mias had disappeared.

Vale and Greed saw Juniper off.

Greed turned to Vale with a smile on her face.

"Aren’t you excited for our slumber party?!"

’Slumber party?’

Vale didn’t know what drugs Greed was on, but they must have been strong.

Vale sighed and glanced at the stone golem, who now studied a cool sapphire rock Toy had found.

"Where’s he going to stay?"

Greed pointed to the end of the hall.

"He likes to curl up in corners, so just hollow out that wall over there and he’ll be just fine. He’ll also entertain himself and has to consume very little."

Vale raised his eyebrow, then turned to his forces and decreed:

"Greed here will be staying with us for at least two weeks. Treat her kindly, please. She’s a bit scary."

Greed put her hand over her mouth and chuckled.

"Now, now, Valentin, it’s not nice to call a lady scary to her face."

Vale sneered and turned to walk back to the core where he’d left the map.

"Truth hurts, huh?"

Greed rolled her eyes and followed next to Vale, leaving Runcal behind to play with Toy.

"My, my, you’re full of spite. It was just a joke."

Vale met her gaze, unblinking.

"Jokes don’t usually end in death."

Greed shrugged and closed her eyes.

"A lot of pranks in my old world took that turn!"

Vale studied Greed’s eyes as she opened them

"That sounds like murder... not much of a joke. What the hell kind of world did you live in?"

Greed hummed for a few seconds.

"Oh, I don’t know... The one where starving people are mocked and laughed at. Where a singular person could destroy the world with a thought. That kind of world."

Vale squinted and pulled his head away.

"That escalated kind of quickly."

Greed’s eyes grew a little solemn.

"I could have said worse..."

Vale’s eyes widened, and he tilted his head.

"Huh?"

Greed laughed slightly, then added:

"Oh? Did you think I was joking? No, back in my world. A few people had access to weapons capable of killing nearly all life in the world. Well, one by itself was incapable, but the theory was of mutual destruction. If one big bad man unleashed the weapon on another, then the target would return armageddon. Mutual death assured."

Vale looked forward, toward the exit of the maze.

"Geez, I thought my world was bad... If you’re telling the truth, it must have sucked knowing the world could end any day by one man’s whim."

Greed smiled warmly.

"Well, I’m giving you the nihilistic perspective of one slighted by the world. Earth wasn’t so bad. The people may have been, but my world itself had much to offer."

Vale started walking down the long hallway.

"I could say the same about my world. If you asked me to describe it, I’d probably say it was pretty shitty. But there was the good in there, too."

Greed studied Vale’s face as the two business partners entered the Grand Hub.

"You never did get to answer earlier. We got... distracted. But what world are you from? I assume it’s not Earth if you didn’t understand what I meant."

Vale turned down the path that led to the core.

"We called our world Terra."

Greed looked into Vale’s glowing eyes as they walked into Ximena’s room; the room where Greed would be staying.

"Terra, huh."

Greed stopped before the bed, and the corner of her eye held an odd glint.

"The last Envy and Gluttony were from there."

Vale studied the mature woman’s face who was taller than him in her heels.

"I’ve been wondering... I met a village boy and asked him about the other Vice. He told me Envy, Gluttony, Lust, and Greed died last year, all at once."

Vale’s eyes locked onto Greed’s honey colored irises.

"You seem too strong for someone who’s only been here for a year."

Greed studied the naked bed then summoned a quilt, pillows and sheets from thin air.

"Astute observation."

Greed sat on the bed and fell back, her silky golden hair spreading out over the amber quilt.

Vale loomed over the edge of the bed and said:

"So, tell me. What happened?"

Greed laughed as she sprawled out.

"Knowledge of history is quite costly."

Vale laughed quietly.

"Sadly, you took most of what I could give. So I don’t have much to offer on this one. What about doing me a favor?"

Greed’s head fell to the side, and her gaze fell upon Vale.

"A favor? I’m not quite in the best of moods at the moment, and you ask for a favor? Vale, all these women surrounding you, and you can’t pick up on something so simple. Leave me be so I can sulk alone."

Vale opened his mouth to refute, but no words came out. He shrugged, then turned and left the room. Once he did, a gold cube appeared and plugged the entrance.

Vale yelled as he walked away:

"Oh, by the way, tenancy is not free here in the esteemed Dungeon of Lust!"

Vale had said it as a joke, not even thinking Sylvia would have heard him, but a moment later, he felt the crushing nature of her authority at full blast.

"Nevermind! It’s free! It’s free!"

’This is going to be a long two weeks...’
