Chapter 546: Helper Heroes From Across the Globe

Not far away, in another settlement that was made of a lot of floating mountains…

Each of the mountains was in the shape of a bell, drum, cauldron, or sword. They were also releasing Transcendent power to attack the flying aliens that were drawing close in all directions!

“Dragon City… is it really so strong? We can’t compare to them at all!”

“Indeed. It was the City of Luck at the beginning. We enjoyed cooperating with them back then.”

“However, during that cooperation, Dragon City took advantage of its early planning and claimed half of the power of providence on the battlefield of providence, which made them grow faster than us. Right now, their settlement is about to advance, yet we’re losing ours.”

A few players who wore clothes in xianxia styles, while flying and fighting, remarked with mixed feelings while they looked at the Thousand-Face Asura that had been reduced to ashes.

“I had intended to meet Brother Ji in the Land of Inheritance on my way here… However, I don’t think I’m qualified to meet him anymore.”

Underneath Fatty Zhu’s blue-and-white robe was fat that probably weighed more than 250 kilograms. He was surrounded by layers of defensive equipment that fended off a lot of aliens that looked like insects. Those insects often started fighting among themselves while attacking him.

The Runeterra settlement, which he originally belonged to, was destroyed by aliens a couple of months earlier.

However, as a beta tester who had passed the test and received a Superior and rare talent skill, he reached the Transcendent level very quickly after he was reborn in a new settlement.

Also, because he knew Ji Ye, he was one of the reinforcements that his settlement sent to aid him. However, there were so many players in his level on the battlefield that Ji Ye probably didn’t recognize his old neighbor back in the player base of Yang City.

“We’re abandoning the defenses of our own settlement and sending all our experts to reinforce another settlement. I have no idea why I agreed to such a stupid decision!”

A male player remarked coldly. He had two pieces of equipment in the shape of the sun and the moon that released heat and coldness respectively, killing the insects in midair.

He was speaking to a female player who had round cheeks and wore a blue Bosideng down coat with two sword auras flying around her.

Next to the female player was a plump panda that wore a Batman suit. While biting a green bamboo, it smashed a creature that looked like a snake but had four wings, resembling the Quetzalcoatl in South America. The creature crashed into a mountain and caused a huge pit like an explosion!

She was Han Meimei, nicknamed “Miss Panda”. She was a beta tester and the leader of players in the best settlement, as well as the last one standing in Guan City.

Different from Ji Ye’s, Han Meimei’s settlement had an internal conflict when she left for the City of Humans. As a result, her position among the leaders became unsteady.

Even though the upheaval was resolved, and in spite of Guan City’s full support, the situation didn’t look good for the settlement, which probably couldn’t accomplish the Road to Legendary quest or advance as a Legendary settlement!

“We’re already doomed. Dragon City will be the only settlement in the southeast region. In any case, we must not dishonor the people of our province.”

Han Meimei controlled the two flying swords and let them fly like two rainbows. When they touched each other again, they easily executed a hundred-meter-long alien in the shape of a centipede.

“I know you’ve been telling yourself that the other settlements in our province are underdeveloped because Dragon City claimed too much power of providence… When you think that, do you remember that before the Land of Inheritance was opened, Guan City was the most prosperous city in this province, and a lot of other cities had complained about us looting their resources and looting their blood…

“What did you think back then? Did you feel ashamed or that it was wrong? Or did you just ignore them while inwardly feel patronizing?”

While talking, Han Meimei pointed her finger, and golden flames emerged out of nowhere, burning up the centipede alien’s venomous body.

Many provinces in Chidragon had concentrated their resources to develop their capitals. So, the residents of the capitals always felt superior to those of other cities.

However, at this moment, the people of Guan City were no longer superior to those of Yang City. Actually, the leaders were considering setting Yang City under the direct command of the central government.

“Concentrating all resources to build a powerful settlement is not a wrong policy, either for Chidragon in the past or the civilization of humankind today. Besides, Dragon City has won all its resources on its own. They’re not gifts of the Land of Inheritance.”

“As for our settlement, you must know the real reason why we’re left behind. Jealousy and complaints are just for the useless.”

Han Meimei was apparently a lot more serious than the perky panda keeper she used to be. She had grown into a qualified leader in only a couple of months.

Boom!

Her two swords were combined and released a vibe above Transcendent Rank-6, which drew a streak of light three thousand meters long and incinerated countless flying insects.

“Now that we’ve made a choice, let’s not regret anymore. Fight harder and try to win as much Rare Honor as possible with this opportunity.”

Han Meimei’s face was pale. Her heavy breath spread to the ears of everybody from the Mount Shu settlement.

“Well said. As long as we accumulate enough Honor, Dragon City will likely be able to endure to the end. When all the other settlements are destroyed, we might all become a member of Dragon City. If we fight hard at this moment, we’ll leave a good impression on the leaders.”

Obviously, the leaders of the Mount Shu settlement had thought hard before they made the plan of abandoning their own settlement to reinforce Dragon City.

Also, most people in the settlement agreed on the plan.

Not just the players, even the natives were trying their best too. They executed the hostile aliens even at the cost of their own lives.

It was because they had basically figured out the rules of the Land of Inheritance. Although their level would drop and their memories would be lost after their settlement fell, they still had a chance to be reborn and learn their history from the players. It was a rebirth in a way.

However, if Dragon City was destroyed, they would probably be permanently killed.

After all, even if the settlements outside of the country endured to the end, it was unlikely that they would summon heroes who were only popular in Chidragon.

“Ten Thousand Swords!”

“Blizzard!”

“Earth is round!”

The Dark Sky Sect, Li Yingqi, Li Xiaoyao, Zhao Ling’er, Lord of the Moon… All kinds of cultivator heroes launched shocking and splendid attacks. The viewers who weren’t familiar with Chidragon’s xianxia culture exclaimed in shock.

That wasn’t the only settlement that made such a decision.

As the country with the most population and the longest undisrupted history, Chidragon had more than thirty settlements on Earth even to this day!

However, probably only half of them had a chance to accomplish the Road to Legendary quest, and even fewer could advance into the Legendary level.

Therefore, multiple settlements, knowing that it was hopeless to advance, had made the decision of abandoning their own settlement and reinforcing Dragon City.

After all, instead of giving away the power of providence to the competitive aliens, they might as well consume it to reinforce Dragon City so that the civilization of humankind could have a higher chance of surviving.

It was also a recurring tradition in the history of Chidragon.

Perhaps, when in peace, there were always people who fought among themselves for power or fortune.

However, when the entire civilization was at risk, they would always choose to fight against common foes, even at the cost of their lives.

Boom, boom, boom…

Battles were going on crazily.

There were battles on the ground, on the sea, and even in the sky.

The civilization of Earth needed to destroy those aliens in order to let Dragon City become Legendary so that humankind could survive.

The other species needed to destroy Dragon City and reclaim the power of providence that it took away from them. The aliens who were fighting as villains needed the power of providence to survive too!

“Should we reinforce them?”

“I think so! Dragon City seems to be winning. Let’s get some power of providence from there!”

“Gather our men to reinforce them! Dragon City will probably advance easily. After their advancement, our advancement will be a lot easier with their help.”

After seeing the participation of those settlements, all the other settlements joined the battlefield without hesitation as long as they weren’t in danger!

“Wula, wula…”

“Sawadika!”

“Dawalixi!”

“Gudedage!”

The light was flashing, and projections of Transcendent heroes or players came from the settlements and fought the Transcendent aliens that surrounded the settlement.

“Roar!”

A giant that was full of green muscles pressed a scorpion that was big as a mountain and made of brownish crystals, roaring and smashing it hard until it was buried deep in the soil.

“Have you seen my bear Tibbers?”

A little girl who wore Gothic makeup and had thick eye shadows put on a weird smile towards a bunch of aliens who looked like mermaids.

Boom!

A gigantic bear toy that seemed to have just been stitched together and wreathed in purple flames of soul fell from the sky and knocked away a lot of aliens. It also landed right on the top of some aliens and melted them into my magma.

“Hey, hey, you stabbed me in my heart, baby!”

A man who wore a black pirate hat with brown braids dangling down roared while he laid his left hand on a spider’s leg that had stabbed into his chest like a long spear!

The owner of this “beautiful leg” was an alien whose lower half body was a spider and whose upper half body was a naked woman.

“Ouch, I’m dying, I’m dying!”

While letting out desperate screams, the man grabbed the spider’s leg and suddenly exerted strength. The spider’s leg pierced through his body, but he also managed to get closer to the spider queen. He was almost right next to the upper half body of the spider queen.

Pew!

Then, a cold light flashed, and he cut off the spider queen’s beautiful head with a pirate knife.

“Sorry, baby. I lied to you. In fact… You can’t kill me!”

The pirate opened his left hand with regret on his face. The cursed coin inside his hand that had a skull was grinning and mocking the spider queen’s head that was rolling on the spider’s back.’

Hum!

A lightning dragon, leaving a glittering trail behind, brushed past him at such a high speed that it almost couldn’t be caught by the naked eye. It set his hair ablaze and left a smell in the air.

Boom!

A sand monster, which was completely made of sand and could turn anything that it surrounded into sand, suddenly jerked from the beach when it was swallowed by the lightning dragon and heated into magma.

Furthermore, a track of steam, which was several meters wide and more than five hundred meters long, was left in the seawater behind.

A girl, who had brown hair, brown pupils, and a brown jacket covering a black-and-white school uniform, was surrounded by a tremendous amount of electric currents. All kinds of game coins were floating around her. She snapped lightning dragons towards the aliens on the battlefield.

Not far away from them, there was also a cold-looking young man who had white hair, red pupils, and striped clothes. He was walking alone on the battlefield.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The energy aftermath, the shrapnel, and even the Transcendent attacks from the aliens were all halted when they passed by the white-haired young man.

Hum!

In the sky, a red-and-white creature that resembled a Clown suddenly appeared.

It quickly split up, turning from one to two, from two to four, from four to seven… In the blink of an eye, thousands of Clowns jumped at the white-haired young man!

The Clowns were Transcendent creatures that boasted the ability of infinite splitting.

“Heh!”

Facing the overwhelming number of Clowns, the young man who was surrounded in the center put on a twisted smile with madness and determination of killing flowing out of his bloodshot eyes.

Pop, pop, pop!

In the sky, the halted Transcendent attacks and shrapnel were all launched towards the Clowns at an even higher speed, filling them with holes and ripping them apart.

There was also a short and fat robot in the shape of a cat. It was extending its chubby arms and taking out all sorts of items from its abdomen to the soldiers of Dragon City. All these items carried Transcendent power.

Pa! Pa! Pa!

A lot of pixel men who seemed to be made of cubes were constantly smashing with a hammer and turning everything they touched into cubes in different colors.

Then, they combined the cubes into airplanes, tanks, warships, and even nuclear bombs. They quickly established a city that boasted powerful defenses, which dumbfounded the aliens that just came close.

“Wow, this electromagnetic cannon is so unscientifically powerful!”

“Captain Jack is still stunned. Did he just lose half of his hair? I thought that he would’ve broken free with ‘Remove Scurvy’. I didn’t expect him to trade wound for life in such a way!”

“Hulk is still punching the Crystal Scorpion. He’s almost digging through the shell of Earth!”

“Annie’s bear is so awesome. It’s killing aliens as if they were minions. It must be above Transcendent Rank-5.”

“I want the treasures in Doraemon’s pocket too… Why am I not a player? Why can’t I join the battle?”

“I feel so excited to see the buildings rise from the ground! I’ve played Craft for ten years. I once worked five days and nights in a row. I wish I could build with them…”

When the settlements and heroes that people were familiar with were recognized, the billions of viewers on Earth were inevitably thrilled.

The scene where everybody on Earth was fighting for the same cause could make everybody’s blood boil.

However, there were exceptions.

“Are they… from the Academy City settlement?”

In a plaza in Jaipan, the short and fat player suddenly rose from the couch in surprise.

“Aren’t they still fighting against the last hostile alien group? Why did they send so many reinforcements?”

“Obviously, they’re already confident of defeating their opponents. They must be reinforcing Dragon City for their own advancement later!”

The slim young man who held a cup of red wine seemed rather grave.

“Do those idiots really think that Dragon City will help us after the advancement? On the forum in Chidragon, many people want to see all our settlements be destroyed by the aliens!”

The short and fat player gnashed his teeth.

“What do we do? Are we going to reinforce them or not?”

Another player sounded rather anxious.

At this moment, they were the best settlement in Jaipan, and a lot better than Academy City, which ranked second.

They had received enormous support from the state government and plenty of resources. A lot of magnates and important officials had joined them. However, if Academy City obtained a bunch of power of providence from assisting Dragon City, it might be able to replace them.

“Well…”

The short and fat man couldn’t make a decision.

“Let’s get back online. However, we’re not going to the branch settlements like the people of Academy City did. We’re going to Dragon City’s main settlement!”

The slender gloomy-looking young man rose and spoke agitatedly.
