Chapter 3011: Khaos Arts

Chapter 3011: Khaos Arts

Emery did not depart immediately.

The date had been set two weeks in advance, leaving more than enough time to travel between the two quadrants by conventional means. For most cultivators, the journey would require boarding a fleet and crossing the vast expanse of space over several days. Emery, however, did not need such delays. Through the Khaos Waypoint network, he could appear in Golden City within moments whenever he wished.

So instead of leaving, he returned to his cultivation chamber and stepped once more into his inner domain.

His dark avatar remained immersed in its year-long comprehension.

For the past twelve months, it had devoted itself entirely to deciphering the inheritance left behind by the Lord of Khaos, yet progress had come only through relentless effort. The five Khaos Arts carved upon the ancient stone wall were unlike anything Emery had encountered before.

Among them, the First Arts had proven the most attainable.

The primary material required, [Spatial Quartz], was extraordinarily rare, but the Earth Faction had managed to secure enough through years of accumulation and trade.

With his mastery of blink spells and spatial bending, Emery was able to grasp the fundamental principles of the first Khaos Art within just a few months.

[Khaos Riftstep]

A technique that crossed space itself with a single step.

Ordinary blink spell, no matter how refined, shared the same fatal weakness. Against grand magus opponents, spatial movement was easily suppressed by the pressure of a cosmic domain. The first Khaos art was built to endure exactly that. It tore through the domain restrictions, carrying its user up to a hundred meters in a single instant, unhindered.

That capability classifies [Khaos Riftstep] as a high-grade Tier 7 spell.

Against opponents like Typhon—whose terrifying speed had always forced Emery onto the defensive—it finally provided a means to keep pace, escape unfavorable positions, or seize the initiative instantly.

Unfortunately, the second stage of the inheritance was another matter entirely — far more demanding, with a denser structure and steeper requirements. Until the faction’s networks turned up more materials it called for, there was little the avatar could do but set them aside.

The second Khaos Art, the spatial containment technique known as [Khaos Mirror Realm], remained entirely beyond his reach. Its core catalyst, [Voidglass Ore], had yet to be found anywhere within the Earth Faction’s sphere of influence.

Fate, however, had favored the third inheritance instead.

During one of the Cosmic Palace’s grand auctions, Emery had managed to acquire several strands of [Astral Root], an exceedingly rare spatial treasure, at the steep cost of five thousand palace points. It had been an extravagant purchase, but one that immediately redirected the dark avatar’s efforts.

For the past several weeks, it had devoted itself entirely to deciphering the third legacy—the art said to nurture Khaos Seeds across the endless reaches of space.

Unfortunately, progress had been painfully slow.

Again and again, the avatar approached the heart of the technique, only for its understanding to dissolve like mist whenever it seemed ready to grasp it. Every breakthrough lasted only an instant before slipping away, forcing it to begin the process anew.

"Alright. Let’s try again," Emery muttered, settling into place across from his dark avatar.

He merged his focus with it.

Their comprehension intertwined, each insight strengthening the next as they pushed together against the inheritance’s hidden truths.

Days bled past. The tribulation date crept steadily closer, and more than once, Emery came near to setting the whole matter aside until after his return from Golden City. Then — just as his patience thinned to its last thread — the dark avatar found its enlightenment.

The scattered, fragmented runes that had resisted them for weeks suddenly fell into perfect alignment, each symbol flowing naturally into the next until they formed a complete whole.

A profound realization surged through both Emery and his dark avatar simultaneously, and with it came the name of the technique.

[Khaos Voidweave]

The knowledge flowed into his mind like an endless river, neither violent nor overwhelming, but steady and complete. As Emery absorbed its first stage, his expression gradually shifted from concentration to genuine surprise.

Unlike the First Art, this third legacy was not a combat technique. Instead, it was a spirit-channeling art that drew directly upon the power of Khaos itself. Combined with Emery’s powerful divine sense, it was no wonder this legacy proved far easier to comprehend.

The description of what the art could do for his bound seeds went well beyond what he had expected.

At its first stage, Emery could channel a surge of Khaos’s own strength directly into a bound cultivator. More remarkably, it allowed every Khaos seed bound to him to be woven into a single mental network—a web of linked consciousness connected through the seeds they already shared.

Rather than waste time speculating about the true extent of the art, Emery decided there was only one way to understand it.

He would gather everyone.

Walking toward the great stone table at the center, Emery closed his eyes and reached outward. One by one, he followed each connection, extending his will across the waypoints, calling all bound to his Khaos Seeds.

Moments later, the floating landmass began to stir.

Space folded gently around the ancient stone table as figures emerged one after another, each arriving through the seed connection.

Soltz appeared first.

The old Three Cosmos cultivator stepped out as though he had merely crossed into another room, his weathered eyes calmly sweeping across the domain with the familiarity of someone who had visited many times before.

Morgana followed soon after.

A faint haze of primordial flames still clung to her robes, the lingering aura of the frontline battlefield not yet fully faded. She looked briefly surprised before recognizing where she was, her expression relaxing almost immediately.

Anpu arrived next, then Livi, who looked around in mild confusion before quietly taking her place.

A heartbeat later, Shinta appeared. Her face lit up with an excited grin.

Kingrig strode through the portal with his usual swagger, one hand resting casually on the hilt of his weapon as though he had been interrupted in the middle of boasting to someone. Ha Ron emerged immediately behind him, calm and composed as ever, while Yuria was the last of the familiar faces to appear, silently materializing from the distorted space before fading almost seamlessly into the gathering, like a shadow returning to its rightful place.

Then another figure arrived.

A fierce-looking man with messy gray hair strode confidently onto the floating island, a massive greatsword resting across his back.

Dillon Gray.

The recently reunited seed stood upright the instant he emerged, his expression as stern and disciplined as ever.

"Senior Dillon?!"

Kingrig let out a bark of laughter.

Dillon had been one of the Magus Academy’s most respected seniors during their earliest years, a figure they had all admired before disappearing on a solitary cultivation journey that lasted the better part of two decades. His stern expression remained for only a moment before the corners of his mouth lifted into a faint smile.

"It has been a long time."

With Dillon’s arrival, all nine Khaos Seeds had gathered, ready to heed Emery’s command.
