Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 3036: Supreme Strikes

Chapter 3036: Supreme Strikes

This strike dwarfed every technique the Supreme had displayed before.

The colossal dragon was formed entirely from roaring winds and crackling lightning, its immense body coiling across the sky like a living tempest.

Emery couldn’t help muttering under his breath.

"Is this crazy Senior trying to level the entire mountain as well?"

Golden scales briefly rippled across the back of the Supreme’s raised hand before fading once more, revealing a glimpse of his true power. Yet even that fleeting manifestation carried the unmistakable pressure of a genuine Supreme—the highest realm the Magus Universe had to offer.

Emery felt the weight of it settle upon him.

There were some records of exceptional Magus defeating Grand Magus opponents through talent, preparation, or sheer fortune.

But a Grand Magus standing against a Supreme in a direct confrontation...

And actually winning?

No such record had ever existed.

Which was precisely why Emery had never deluded himself into believing he could match one, especially not a Dragon Supreme whose bloodline was renowned as one of the strongest in existence.

The previous exchange had already pushed his body close to its limits, the lingering shock still echoed through his flesh. He might survive several more strikes if he abandoned all restraint and revealed his true strength, but that would expose far more than he was willing to reveal merely to satisfy an old man’s curiosity.

After weighing the options, Emery chose what he considered the far more reasonable course.

Retreat

"I’ve already endured three strikes." He cupped his fists respectfully. "My apologies, Senior, but I can’t entertain you any further."

The Supreme neither answered nor even acknowledged the protest.

His expression remained perfectly calm as he lowered his hand.

High above, the storm dragon opened its jaws and descended once more.

With the restrictions surrounding the sacred peak, to escape, Emery had to exert far more effort than usual.

Dark smoke burst outward from his body as his battlefield domain unfurled, twisting the surrounding space just as the descending storm dragon crashed toward him. The Khaos energy distorted the trajectory of the attack for a brief instant, buying him the opening he needed.

He took a single step.

[Khaos Voidstep].

Space rippled like disturbed water, and by the time the thunder dragon descended, Emery was no longer there. He reappeared several meters above the attack, the space he had vacated collapsing behind him with a faint crack as reality hastily stitched itself back together.

"You’re not leaving."

The Supreme spoke almost casually as he flicked a finger.

The enormous storm dragon immediately curved through the air, changing direction with impossible agility before continuing its pursuit.

Emery didn’t slow down.

Another [Khaos Voidstep] carried him farther away, but the difference was immediately obvious. Under normal circumstances, each step could transport him hundreds of meters in an instant. Here, beneath the suppression of the sacred mountain and the Supreme’s overwhelming presence, every jump covered barely a dozen meters.

So this is the limit...

It seemed the first stage of this Khaos movement art was still only sufficient against Grand Magus opponents. Before a true Supreme, its effectiveness was being suppressed to an alarming degree.

Golden wings of light unfurled behind his back as Emery prepared to rely on raw speed instead, intending to create enough distance for another escape.

Then he looked up.

His expression changed.

The heavens above had vanished beneath an endless web of lightning. Countless bolts intertwined overhead like glowing chains sealing the sky itself, while torrents of violent wind descended from every direction, forcing his body back no matter how hard he pushed forward.

"Dammit..."

Without hesitation, Emery reached for his final escape.

A Khaos Gate began to form beneath his feet...

...only to collapse before it could fully manifest.

The surrounding suppression had become far stronger than before.

Only then did Emery notice the world around him had quietly changed.

The surrounding mountain peaks had disappeared entirely, replaced by an endless expanse of dark storm clouds. Wind and lightning stretched in every direction, leaving no visible boundary, as though he had been pulled into the heart of a living tempest.

Emery let out a slow breath.

"So that’s it..."

This was no ordinary spell.

He had already been dragged into the Supreme’s domain.

And this was no common battlefield domain

He could feel the authority of the heavens themselves pressing down upon the space around him, every current of wind and every bolt of lightning answering only a single will.

Emery turned back toward the hovering Supreme.

"Spatial techniques..." the Supreme said with open amusement, watching Emery with renewed interest as the colossal thunder dragon circled overhead, coiling through the storm clouds like a heavenly serpent patiently waiting to devour its prey.

Emery let out a long sigh.

"Alright... if Senior insists."

There was no longer any reason to continue holding back.

Twilight Transformation surged through his body in full, dark and golden energy intertwining beneath his skin as his Primal Form spread across both forearms. His pupils burned into molten gold, while an overwhelming aura erupted from within him.

A flash of light split the storm.

Excalibur tore free from his inner domain and landed firmly in his waiting hand.

The Dao of Heaven and Earth circulated throughout his body, harmonizing the opposing powers of Killgragah and Daurgototh. Black flames and absolute frost no longer clashed but flowed together in perfect balance, their combined strength pouring into the divine sword as its runes ignited one after another.

The thunder dragon descended.

Emery met it head-on.

BAAAAM!!

The collision shook the entire domain.

Even with the full might of his bloodline, the Primal Form, the two Khaos Guardians, and Excalibur reinforcing his strike, the impact still forced Emery backward. Every muscle in his body screamed under the pressure as he slid dozens of meters through the storm-filled sky. He had managed to deflect the dragon’s charge

—but not destroy it.

"I thought as much..."

Without hesitation, another figure stepped through space beside him.

A perfect copy of Emery.

His dark avatar.

Unlike the true body, the avatar wielded the massive Gravestone Ruler, its ancient surface covered in dimly glowing runes.

The avatar raised the colossal weapon and swung it in one seamless motion.

The air itself shrieked beneath its weight, as it unleashed his strongest attack.

[Star Rending Strike].

The Supreme’s smile never disappeared.

He simply lifted a hand and made a small, almost lazy gesture.

Immediately, the thunder dragon abandoned its charge. Its enormous body coiled tightly around the Supreme, transforming into a spiraling wall of wind and lightning. Endless bolts crawled across its scales as the entire construct rotated, becoming an impregnable barrier.

BAAM!

The first strike crashed into the storm wall, freezing against it for the briefest instant before violent shockwaves rippled through the coiling dragon. Lightning burst outward in brilliant fractures, illuminating the entire domain.

BAAM!

The second strike landed a heartbeat later.

This time, the barrier yielded.

A jagged fissure ripped through the dragon’s coiled body as its thunderous roar twisted into something closer to a pained shriek. The storm clouds convulsed violently, as though the heavens themselves had suffered the wound.

At that very moment, Emery arrived.

Excalibur descended.

The Dao of Heaven and Earth condensed into a razor-thin edge, merging perfectly with the sword’s divine radiance as black flames and icy mist spiraled around its blade.

At the same time, the dark avatar third strike fell.

BAAAMMM!!!

For a single heartbeat...

Everything became silent.

Then the entire storm dragon exploded apart.

The massive defensive wall unraveled into countless streams of wind and lightning, scattering across the Supreme’s domain like fragments of shattered stars before fading into nothingness.

Emery’s expression darkened.

That single attack had pushed his avatar to its absolute limit, forcing it to retreat back into his domain before the borrowed body collapsed entirely.

On the other hand...

Despite destroying the thunder dragon, the attack had left the Supreme’s domain completely untouched. The storm-filled world remained perfectly intact, as though the overwhelming clash had never happened. Only the dragon construct itself had been dispersed.

As the last traces of wind and lightning faded, Emery and the Supreme remained suspended in the air, facing one another across the quiet valley.

It seemed...

The Supreme still wasn’t satisfied.

The old man’s gaze gradually sharpened, studying Emery more carefully than before.

"...That technique.... You’re Beast Emperor’s new disciple."

Emery remained hovering in place, taking a slow breath as he calmed the violent currents of Khaos still raging within his body.

"I am."

He paused briefly before lowering his disguise.

"My name is Emery Ambrose."

With a wave of his hand, he produced the Beast Union insignia the Beast Emperor had personally given him.

The moment the badge appeared, the atmosphere changed.

The storm domain quietly unraveled, the dark clouds dissolving into drifting mist as the true sky of the sacred mountain gradually returned. Sunlight poured over the valley once more, while the oppressive pressure blanketing the surroundings vanished as though it had never existed.

Emery clasped his fists respectfully and bowed.

"Thank you, Senior, for showing mercy."

The Nine Heavens Supreme remained silent for several moments.

His expression still carried a trace of displeasure, though it had softened considerably.

Finally, the Supreme let out a soft snort.

"I’ll give your master some face... Besides, you had the decency not to steal anything."

Emery quietly exhaled, feeling genuinely relieved.

From the way the Supreme spoke, it almost sounded as if he wished Emery would have taken it, so he has more reason to punish Emery.

The Supreme turned toward the hidden valley and gave a casual wave of his hand.

"Very well... I’ll take you to see Ronan."
