Another figure shoved him aside. This man was young and possessed an incredible battle spirit.

“Your Majesty, it’s really you!” He shouted.

More figures wanted to push in but Li Qiye raised his finger, stabililzing the water sphere.

“Zhan Qi, it’s me.” Li Qiye sighed.

“You’re alive, you’re alive...” Zhan Qi couldn’t calm down.

“Yes, I am.” Li Qiye nodded.

“Your Majesty, please save us, we’re all trapped here.” He realized something and said.

“You’re lost, not trapped, you have lost yourselves.” Li Qiye shook his head.

“Please save us, Your Majesty.” He didn’t want to miss this opportunity.

“I can’t. You have lost yourself in Xian Shen’s illusions; the only way is to find the self again. No one else can help you in this.” Li Qiye said.

“But my self has dispersed...” He said.

“That’s why all of you are already dead, you just don’t realize it yet.” Li Qiye sighed: “You gave yourselves to Xian Shen to fulfill your pursuits.”

Zhan Qi’s expression darkened. Thunder Emperor was also alarmed since she had experienced this before.

As she sat on the throne, she couldn’t maintain her dao heart after experiencing the countless years. Everything felt real and she believed she had become an immortal. Once that happened, she would disperse entirely in the illusion. At the last second, Li Qiye snapped her back to reality.

“We, we’re really dead?” Zhan Qi murmured.

“Yes, you couldn’t protect your dao heart.” Li Qiye stared at the figures in the water sphere: “Now that Xian Shen’s power is receding, your souls are becoming lucid.”

“I’m dead, really dead...” Zhan Qi said in a daze before looking up: “We can’t be saved?”

“You have died long ago, and willingly. The price to save all of you is incalculable.” Li Qiye said.

“I see...” He murmured.

“Yes, true death.” Li Qiye nodded.

“Your Majesty.” Tears streamed down his cheeks as he spoke: “At least I still got to see you, I’m happy to see you alive.”

“Right, maintaining is hard but escaping, even harder. Being able to meet again is a blessing of fate.” Li Qiye said.

“I understand, Your Majesty. Please send us to the other side.” He accepted death.

“Farewell.” Li Qiye sighed and raised his hand.

“Buzz.” A light of crossing engulfed the whole sphere.

In theory, this was their karma. Since they willingly gave themselves up, they needed to pay the price. The high heaven would have descended to prevent someone from crossing them.

The problem was that Li Qiye was the one doing it. His crossing power delivered everyone to the other side before any tribulation could descend.

The figures in the back woke up and understood what was going on. Now, they were saved from being trapped here for eternity.

Although this was a type of eternal life, they were prisoners fueling Xian Shen’s flame of life. In other words, their dreams, in reality, meant becoming the immortal’s slaves. They were his slaves in both life and death, unable to escape.

At the very least, Li Qiye was able to deliver them from this eternal damnation. They happily accepted the crossing and dispersed into nothingness.

Li Qiye sighed while watching the figures disappear. With that, the descending tribulation also dispersed.

Bear Immortal and Thunder Emperor didn’t know who they were. Nevertheless, they had a good guess of the situation.

“This was just a trap?” The bear asked.

“Everyone dreams about eternal life and immortality.” Li Qiye said: “So did Xian Shen. He created his own world without the heaven’s permission, so everything was destroyed and banished. When I came and followed his traces, he was already dead. The illusions continued to trap people if their dao heart was not strong enough.”
