Li Qiye took the trio into the maelstrom. Everything turned dark for both the bear and the emperor.

However, the bear could still assess the situation. Death roared around them in a challenge.

A mortal must face a mortal death; an immortal must also face an immortal death. The power of death was proportional to the cultivator.

“Can’t this grant rebirth?” Thunder Emperor remarked in astonishment.

“Buzz.” The pyramid rotated and another side faced them, releasing death.

This time, this could turn the living into a skeleton in the blink of an eye. This included immortals. Thus, both the emperor and the bear hid behind Li Qiye to avoid it.

“Buzz.” The third side finally faced them. However, there was nothing there.

“What is this?” The bear used his immortal power to activate his heavenly gaze to the limit. He saw a vision flashing for a split second, seemingly a supreme grand dao.

He couldn’t afford the energy expenditure and staggered backward.

“Heaventrove Mountain, where life and death are stored.” Li Qiye sighed and shook his head: “Too careless back then, it shouldn’t have become like this.”

“Heaventrove Mountain, one of the nine treasures.” The bear knew what it was.

“Heaventrove Mountain?” Thunder Emperor had never heard of these treasures before.

“No wonder it could remain hidden.” The bear finally knew what he had been searching for. He had felt one back on the six continents previously.

Although Xian Shen’s power hid it, he knew there was something capable of becoming a legacy artifact.

“Xian Shen moved them?” The bear asked.

“He didn’t need it when he was alive and only used it after death, hoping to live by hiding death. This happened long after the actual death.” Li Qiye shook his head.

“In other words, this thing appeared way after.” The bear stared at the mountain.

“His dao heart was patient enough to wait that long.” Li Qiye smiled wryly: “That’s the reason why I didn’t notice it before, it wasn’t there at all. What a terrible way to waste this treasure.”

“What was it hiding before?” Thunder Emperor asked.

“Treasures, fortunes, worlds, on and on.” Li Qiye said.

“And the third face?” She asked about the empty side.

“Outside of life and death.” Li Qiye mentioned a previously-discussed topic: “It’s the most valuable one. But now, only life and death are left.”
