Chapter 6965: Self-Destruction
Chapter 6965: Self-Destruction
“Our world is so tiny, always on the verge of destruction by any immortal. We’ve always thought about repelling their presence from looming above us.” Tribulation Daoist continued.
“Have you ever thought about how it might not be outsiders who destroy your world, but a native immortal?” Li Qiye smiled.
“Well...” His expression changed as he took another sip.
He understood this all too well. After all, his progenitor was a prime example who barely managed to salvage the situation.
“That’s why I worried about Godfiend Monarch, not wanting a repeat of the same disaster.” He sighed.
“No world can prevent the desire to become an immortal. Do you want to become an immortal?” Li Qiye asked.
“I...” He hesitated momentarily before answering: “Sir, I can’t refuse the opportunity. I suppose that is hypocritical. I want to become an immortal yet am persuading Godfiend Monarch to do otherwise.”
He naturally knew deep down that persuasion wouldn’t work. Alas, there was no other option.
At this point, a woman approached. She couldn’t fully hide her imperial aura; traces still oozed out.
She wore a white dress and had her hair tied up. She looked both ethereal and noble, giving a serene instead of an intimidating presence. Anyone would be happy to lower their head to greet her.
“Fellow Daoist Su.” Tribulation Daoist stood up to greet her.
Li Qiye sipped his tea without standing up.
“Senior.” The woman bowed in response.
The daoist returned the gesture before introducing her to Li Qiye: “She is Myriad Buddhas’ Whitelotus Grand Emperor.”
Her name was Su Lianxin, so her title borrowed her last name. [1]
The two had planned a meeting here, so she was surprised to see a mortal. Why was her partner acting so respectful toward one?
After all, he could be considered the second-strongest cultivator in the Survivor Realm, only behind Godfiend Monarch.
However, there was no time to think about this matter. She asked: “Senior, do you have a plan?”
“Nothing but to persuade him.” He smiled wryly.
“It might be too late, the ancestor wants to ascend today.” She shook her head.
“What?!” He staggered backward: “Isn't he going to wait until the tribulations are weaker? It’s too sudden.”
“The ancestor noticed movements from the fortress, so it might take action again. We need an immortal to protect Survivor Realm, so he will risk it all for this goal.” She sighed.
“The fortuitous date is the best-case scenario, to do it beforehand is more dangerous.” He said.
“That is why he will use the immortal bone.” She said.
“Didn’t I say the bone is the true source of calamity? My progenitor back then faced a tribulation unlike any other because of it.” He had an ugly expression.
“We tried to persuade him to no avail. He believes that Myriad Tribulations Immortal pursued the primordial stage while he is only going for the regular stage. The tribulation will be limited and containable.” She said.
“Not necessarily, we don’t know the true danger of that bone.” He shook his head repeatedly.
“We want to be prudent, but the ancestor believes time is not on our side, we have to be one step ahead of the fortress.” She said.
“There’s no other choice, I will steal the bone and hide it forever.” He gritted his teeth and stomped the ground.
“It’s too late, he has the bone now.” She revealed.
He paused for a moment before speaking: “I will go speak to him since we can’t let it happen. My progenitor nearly destroyed Survivor Realm after using it.”
“My ancestor will kill you, he has made up his mind.” She said.
“He’s that determined?” His expression changed.
“We failed to convince him.” She said.
“Either way, I must try. If he uses it, all of us will die anyway, so I’ll just go a bit earlier. At the very least, I would have died trying to protect this land.” He made up his mind.
“I will go with you, Senior.” She sighed.
“Very well, let’s hope he will change his mind.” He said before realizing something.
He bowed toward Li Qiye and said: “Sir, are you interested in visiting Myriad Buddhas Monastery?”
“Smart.” Li Qiye paused his drinking and said.
“I pray that you will care for the living beings.” He said shamelessly.
“I have drunk your wine, and it won’t be for nothing.” Li Qiye smiled.
“Thank you, Sir, thank you!” He bowed before showing the way.

Along the way, Su Lianxin whispered: “What is going on?”
“Our last hope, leave it up to fate.” He said, unaware whether Li Qiye would actually help them since he was an outsider. Alas, he had no better option.
