Endless Evolution: Last Star

Chapter 1855: The Battle Body

Chapter 1855: The Battle Body

Adam spent some time in his inner space. It had become Lakma’s new home, at least for the time being, and she wanted to be helpful.

Sure, the real Lakma was significantly stronger than Adam was at the moment, since she was just one step away from becoming a Second Rank Phantom.

But this Lakma was useful as well, especially when the Silver Weaver worked with her. He knew how to get the most out of any given person. He’d done it countless times with Adam.

“I see. This is even better than I expected.” Adam nodded after listening to their explanation. “You know, I was worried that your abilities and Lone Blaze’s would be similar, but now I realize that’s not the case.”

Lakma nodded as a shy smile appeared on her face.

“Unfortunately, I don’t have all the experience and powers that… Lakma had… But this is definitely the best we could come up with together!”

Adam’s smirk widened.

“That’s more than enough. I was just missing some variety in my current fighting style. Also, I’ll be able to test this out very soon against Amelia!”

After that, Adam left his inner space as he opened his eyes.

“Oh…” He sighed, looking at Amelia’s cold face as she towered over him.

“Mr. Adam, we agreed that you’d meet me in the training hall in an hour. It’s already been an hour and five minutes. Why are you making me wait?”

“Tsk. Five minutes? Seriously? Can’t you even wait that little while?”

Amelia tilted her head.

“Are you saying you would have come in the next minute? Judging by your relaxed posture, I highly doubt it.”

The most annoying thing about Amelia was that she was right. Adam hadn’t actually noticed how time had flown by. It was the first time he’d been able to relax since arriving in the Tarnished Lands.

“Alright, my bad, I’m ready to head to training right now.”

“Glad to hear it.”

Amelia headed for the exit as the maids sheepishly lowered their heads, afraid to look at her.

They knew better than anyone that it was very difficult to provoke Amelia’s wrath, but if it happened, it would be the end of everything.

Splash!

Adam stepped out of the water as he pulled his shirt and pants on, right over his wet body. He didn’t bother putting on his coat or boots, wanting to stay as light as possible.

“So, where’s this gym?”

“In the west wing!” the maids exclaimed in unison.

Adam arrived just a few minutes after Amelia, stepping into the vast, spacious hall.

The walls were lined with a variety of weapons, and bright light streamed down from the ceiling through glass panels, emanating from the white crystals. The floor was made of wood, which still retained its forest scent.

“Huh, not bad, not bad at all. I take it this place is completely safe for fighting at full strength?”

Amelia nodded.

“Yes, the void artifacts are installed in the walls. These are special types of artifacts. They function as both barriers and power sources. All we need to do is recharge them with energy after training so they can once again absorb the shockwaves from our strikes.”

“Oh, I see. That’s pretty convenient.”

“It is. Otherwise, we’d have to fight outside the walls. Anyway, I think we should get started.”

Tap.

With a deft movement, Amelia slipped off her luxurious dress, causing Adam’s eyes to widen.

Underneath the dress was a short, long-sleeved robe that covered only her chest. She wore loose pants and no shoes. Her feet, like Adam’s, were bare.

But that wasn’t the only thing that surprised Adam.

“Her body… How could I have failed to notice that she has such an athletic build?”

Amelia began to stretch, extending her arms out to the sides.

“I understand your confusion. When I’m in a dress, I look completely different. However, you mustn’t forget that first and foremost, I’m a monster and a fighter, only then am I Amelia von Grad.”

“Huh, I already figured that out,” Adam smirked. “So, what’s the first stage of training?”

“As I said earlier, the Soul Stance requires you to have supreme control over your aura and energy. It’s impossible to achieve this without precise control over your body, every muscle, bone, and tendon affects it. Everything must work perfectly so that your energy and aura face no obstacles along the way.”

Adam casually touched the back of his neck.

“Um… Amelia, I think we can skip this part. I don’t mean to sound arrogant, but I definitely know how to fight. Otherwise, I’d have been dead a long time ago.”

However, she ignored him.

“If you don’t mind, I’d rather not lower my level too much. What do you say?”

A glint flashed across Adam’s eyes as he realized this was his chance to test his strength.

“Of course. How about we stop at the Baron Level?”

Amelia narrowed her eyes.

“Are you sure about that? That’s still the Lord Level.”

Adam nodded deeply.

“Yeah, it should be challenging, but not too much. That’s exactly what I need.”

“I understand.”

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

At that very moment, a powerful surge of aura burst forth from Amelia, causing the entire training hall to shake.

To lower her power level, she first had to release all her aura.

Adam gulped, instinctively taking a step back.

‘Huh, if she attacked me right now, I wouldn’t stand a chance. But… If she’s at the Baron Level, it’ll be a different story.’

Soon, Amelia exhaled and assumed a fighting stance.

“I am ready. Attack at any moment.”

“Huh, do you think I’m stupid? You go first.”

Amelia narrowed her eyes.

“As you wish.”

Shudder!

Her body trembled as, in a blur, she appeared right in front of Adam.

Her palm moved straight toward his face in a direct strike that sliced through the air.

In fact, she was moving faster than Adam’s mind could react, but it was still slow enough for his reflexes.

Step.

Adam stepped forward, dodging her strike as it whizzed past his cheek, leaving a slight cut.

The next moment, Amelia’s eyes widened as she watched a fist moving straight toward her.

Then, she had only one thought:

‘That hit… I won’t have time to dodge it!’
