Chapter 2023: Nova Blast and Fifth Anchor
Chapter 2023: Nova Blast and Fifth Anchor
While Silvana and Frida were talking about the Radiant Branch, Adam gathered enough energy to compress the blue sphere.
Now, the blue sphere looked more like a dense, azure stone in his palm. It was solid and tangible, unlike ordinary energy flows.
This was what the Nova Blast was supposed to look like before absorption.
“Damn… Are you saying there’s five times more energy in this little sphere than there is in me?”
In fact, Adam still didn’t fully grasp just how much energy was in the sphere. He wasn’t a novice or a K1-Phantom. He was a K4-Phantom who was just one step away from the Second Circle. All that was left for him to do was to break through the Grand Barrier.
And, even among K4-Phantoms at his level, he was one of the strongest, especially now. Still, the amount of energy, which was five times greater than his own, could fit right on his palm.
The reason was that compressing this energy any further would be problematic. Sure, someone like Frida or Kamora could make this sphere even smaller, so that it was the size of a fingernail rather than a stone, but even they would eventually reach their limit.
The most important thing was that 500% of Adam’s energy was enough for the energy to take on a physical form, and Adam had enough strength to apply sufficient pressure to the sphere to make that happen.
Clap. Clap. Clap.
Slow claps rang out from the side.
It was Lamor, who was soon joined by Kamora and Silvana. Frida remained where she was, staring intently at the blue sphere.
“Good job, Adam,” Lamor’s deep voice rang out. “Good job. I think this energy is more than enough for your purpose. Now, you must absorb it.”
Adam glanced at Kamora, waiting to hear what she would say.
She just shrugged.
“Why are you looking at me like that? Lamor is right, this small cluster of energy contains enough power for five Phantoms like you. Absorb it all at once and don’t let a single bit of it escape, or you’ll have to start all over again.”
Adam looked at the blue sphere, then turned back to them.
“If there’s so much energy here, isn’t that dangerous? I mean, will I be able to absorb that much energy at once?”
Frida nodded.
“Yes. This energy has already been purified and suppressed by your power. Also, this energy no longer has any element or will. Furthermore, all of this energy will be directed toward creating the Nova Blast, so you have nothing to fear.”
“I see…”
Adam took a long look at the blue sphere before tossing it into the air.
He’d spent quite a bit of time and more than a dozen attempts compressing the Nova Hail energy to this state, so he didn’t want to make a mistake.
‘I’ll do this my way,’ Adam thought before swinging his arms.
Clasp!
His palms slammed into the blue sphere, but it resisted, creating a protective field around itself.
That was exactly what Adam was aiming for. He understood that this energy was now highly resilient, so if he wanted to absorb all that power at once without losing a single bit of it, he needed commensurate pressure.
Tremble!
His aura burst forth as he channeled his pure power, exerting the greatest pressure he was capable of.
Cracks spread across the blue sphere as energy flows surged outward, but Adam’s aura prevented any of them from escaping.
“Good, the hardest part is behind me, now all that’s left is to absorb you!”
Twitch.
His fingers tensed as the energy flows headed toward his hands, emitting a faint light.
More and more flows emerged from the blue sphere. Their speed and number increased as Adam’s hands were already trembling, but he had no intention of stopping there.
He saw how the energy was becoming less and less within the blue sphere.
“Just a little more, and I’ll absorb all of you…”
With the next tremor, the blue sphere shattered into its final fragments, which quickly dispersed into several streams.
Adam continued to maintain the pressure even now, absorbing every particle of energy.
Soon, the last stream was absorbed, and Adam’s eyes shone brightly.
His mind was transported to another space where he saw what he had been missing all this time.
“Wait…”
Adam blinked as he glanced to the side.
To his left was the Grand Barrier. It hadn’t changed at all, nor had the Constellation at its very center, but something about this space had changed.
Five lights hovered before him, and each was one of the Anchors.
On the left, the very first was the Purple Flame with a faint gray hue along its edges, this was the Ancient Energy he had obtained in the Primal Lands.
Next was a calm, dark flame, one that did not seek to draw attention to itself but clearly possessed great power – the Dark Energy. Strangely enough, Adam had also discovered this power within himself in the Primal Lands, but in reality, he had obtained it during the black flash when he first found himself on the Dark Shore.
Right in the center was the amber flame, with small black particles moving chaotically within the fire. This was the Frenzied Flame. It was there, but Adam had not yet unlocked the full power of this Anchor. That was to be his next task.
The penultimate one was the gray flame – the Soul Stance. In some ways, it resembled both the Dark Energy and the Ancient Energy at once. It was an immense power that emanated directly from Adam. He was the source of this flame, not some other resource.
Now, Adam had gained yet another Anchor, the last one, and it shone brighter than all the others.
The fifth was a bright, white flame with a vibrant blue hue that seemed as if it might explode at any moment. It was stronger and more active than both the Dark Energy and the Ancient Energy.
“Hah… So this is the Nova Blast? Good.”
Adam nodded, his eyes full of excitement.
“Now I have them all, almost all of them…”
