Chapter 448: You’re Going To Hell

In Endless Leveling Online, players could view a favorability gauge that showed how much certain characters liked them.

Alex had no idea where he stood with Lavinia and Latifa, but if he had to guess, their favorability was probably around four stars—roughly 80%.

Five stars meant 100% favorability, unlocking the character’s true romance route and allowing the player to pursue a deeper relationship with their chosen partner, or partners, if they were bold enough.

He never thought that Lavinia and him would become this close. In fact, when he had met her in the Clawford Tribe, the young princess had even looked down on him.

But after some time, her attitude towards him changed.

She had even helped him in the Dungeon of Beginnings, risking her life in fighting alongside him.

After surviving that hellish experience, she had gone a step further by refusing to use her family’s wealth and connections to enter Frieden Academy.

She had enrolled as a scholarship student using her own powers and abilities, making Alex recognize her as a truly capable and dependable individual.

He had never foreseen that there would come a time when this beautiful lady, who was also the younger sister of his Master, Cairo, would look at him with eyes filled with tenderness and affection.

Alex didn’t know how it happened, but after closing the door and looking into her eyes for nearly a minute, he reached out to pull her closer to him and gave her a hug.

His mind went blank because this wasn’t what he had planned to do when inviting her inside his room.

He had only planned to give her the Unique Skill Book and that would be the end of it.

Just as Alex was thinking of pulling back, Lavinia wrapped her arms around him and hugged him back.

Both of them didn’t say anything and stayed hugging each other for what seemed like an eternity.

The room was quiet, so Alex was afraid that due to Lavinia’s sharp hearing, she would be able to hear his heartbeat that was beating fast at the moment.

What he didn’t know was that Lavinia was worrying about the same thing as she closed her eyes and rested her head on Alex’s shoulder.

"Lavinia...," Alex said hoarsely. "I am a very greedy person. I used to live my life alone and I was fine with that. But someone forced her way inside my life and pulled me out of that empty room and tried to show me that the world was more beautiful than I thought it was."

He didn’t know why he started talking about this topic. In fact, he thought that it was rude because he was talking about another girl in front of the girl who was showing her honest feelings to him.

Deep down, Alex felt guilty, but the moment he started talking, he was unable to stop himself.

"Truth be told, I didn’t have many expectations in my life," Alex continued. "I thought that I would grow old alone and die. But I was wrong. There were many beautiful things in this world... including you."

The young man held her a little tighter, and Lavinia’s tail slowly wagged behind her, as if the feeling that Alex wanted to convey reached her heart.

A few minutes later, Alex loosened his hold and took a step back to take a proper look at her.

The princess of the Catkin Tribe was truly beautiful. Her long silky black hair was very smooth to the touch, so Alex wasn’t able to stop himself from gently brushing her head.

His right hand then moved to gently touch her cat ears, which made her body shudder as if an electrical current passed through her.

But after that shock, Lavinia closed her eyes, giving Alex her silent permission to touch that intimate place that Catkins only allowed their special someone to touch.

Alex knew that the Catkin had this kind of culture, which was why he dared to touch her cat ears.

If Lavinia didn’t like him, she would have pushed him away because touching one’s ears was one of the ways on how to express their love and affection to someone among their tribe.

Seeing her reaction, Alex understood that Lavinia truly trusted him.

Because of this, he moved closer and whispered to her ear.

"Are you sure about this, Lavinia?" Alex asked as he stopped caressing her ear and placing both of his hands on her waist.

"Yes," Lavinia replied firmly. "I like you, Alex."

As if to prove her words, she planted a kiss on his cheek before hugging him once more.

Alex no longer had any reason to doubt her feelings, so he returned her gesture by kissing her head.

A moment later, Lavinia pulled back and they stared at each other for nearly half a minute before she tiptoed to kiss his lips.

The kiss only lasted for a few seconds, but the message it conveyed was clear.

"After our Field Trip in Solara, will you come with me for a quick visit to the Clawford Tribe?" Lavinia asked, looking at Alex’s eyes with a tinge of anxiety.

"Okay," Alex replied. "I don’t think Master will kill me, but will your parents and grandfather not kill me off?"

A giggle escaped the young lady’s lips, and her eyes turned into crescent moons as if finding that scene quite amusing.

"You are our Oathkeeper." Lavinia smiled. "From the start, my grandfather already had plans to play matchmaker for the two of us."

"I had a feeling, but it seems that I can’t escape the Clawford Tribe huh?" Alex smiled wryly.

"Do you want to escape?" Lavinia asked in a teasing tone.

"Nah..." Alex cupped her face gently. "But Lavinia, I have a confession to make. If you still like me after hearing everything, I promise to make you happy."

Alex then told her about the ladies whom he wanted to spend his life with.

Lavinia was already aware that Alex and Latifa were already very close. But when she heard that there were a few other girls, including Fran, Lapiz, and possibly Efa, a pout appeared on her beautiful face.

"How about Evangeline?" Lavinia narrowed her eyes like a cat about to pounce on her prey.

"I think she was my childhood friend," Alex answered. "And I think our relationship will become closer in the future."

A sigh escaped the young lady’s lips, as she looked at the young man whom she had fallen in love with.

"You’re a very sinful man," Lavinia stated.

"I know." Alex nodded.

"You’re greedy."

"You’re right."

"Womanizer."

"No excuses there."

Lavinia then moved closer and hugged Alex tightly. "You’re going to hell."

"I hope not." Alex chuckled as he hugged her back. "But if I go there, will you come with me?"

"Hmph..." Lavinia closed her eyes.

She didn’t say anything else and simply held Alex closely.

Time seemed to slow down or perhaps moved quickly. But both of them were not aware how long they hugged each other.

After a while, as if coming to an unspoken understanding, the two of them pulled back slightly.

Alex lowered his head, and this time, he took the initiative to kiss her lips.

Lavinia accepted the kiss, and the two of them kissed once, twice, thrice... and kissed some more.

Her tail swayed gently behind her, as if showing the happiness that she was feeling inside her heart.

Both of them weren’t aware that back in the common room, Dim Dim once again smacked Chuck with its hammer to knock him unconscious, because the troublemaker had decided to try barging into the room and ruin Alex’s and Lavinia’s private time with each other.
