Chapter 739: This Was No Longer A Game

“There are two ladies stalking me?” Alex blinked.

Lumi and Lulu had taken him to Evangeline’s room, where his other lovers were gathered.

“Yes.” Lulu nodded. “I saw them following you.”

Although Lulu was mischievous, Alex believed she wasn’t the kind of person who would joke about a serious matter like this.

Still, he couldn’t think of anyone who would gain anything from stalking him.

“Maybe I became too popular after becoming the Singing King?” Alex said calmly. “They might just be my fans.”

Alex’s lovers looked at him weirdly.

They still had no idea whether their lover was a good or a bad singer. When he won the Singing King competition, all of them had fallen in love with his singing voice.

But when he sang in the Battle Choir, the majority of them suffered just like everyone else.

Only Lavinia and Lapiz were lucky and seemed unaffected by his terrible singing.

The fairies had already heard Alex’s torturous singing, so they had developed a very strong resistance to it.

In fact, they had enjoyed his performance. Specifically, they were overjoyed to see countless people suffer like them that day. Not to mention, they could finally cash in their insurance money because they had many witnesses to prove it.

“What?” Alex blinked. “Am I not the Singing King?”

“”You are.””

Everyone hurriedly answered, fearing he might just sing to prove it.

“Still, you should be careful,” Fran, who was seated on Alex’s lap, said in a serious tone. “You have become popular as of late, so there might be people who wish to do you harm.”

“Do not forget, the Demon Worshipers still have you on their KILL LIST,” Evangeline reminded. “Those two ladies might just be spies sent to pay close attention to your movements.”

At the mention of the Demon Worshipers, the expressions of the ladies became solemn.

They still didn’t know that Evangeline was actually the daughter of one of the big bosses of this organization, who specialized in taking control of the underworld.

“Understood.” Alex nodded. “I will be careful. Though, just to be sure… I will have Lumi or Lotte serve as my bodyguard for now. Will that be alright, Latifa?”

“Yes.” Latifa agreed. “They will serve as your bodyguard in shifts.”

Since Latifa’s Alters could turn invisible and phase through walls, they were the perfect people for the job.

Plus, if something really went wrong, they could immediately contact Latifa, who would then inform the rest about the danger Alex was facing.

After discussing the two stalkers, Lotte reminded Alex about the parade that would be happening tomorrow.

“You and Astrea will share a parade float tomorrow,” Lotte said. “Although it is unlikely that you will be targeted during this event due to the high security, be on your guard at all times.”

“I will ask Dim Dim to join me tomorrow.” Alex smiled faintly. “If it brings Eiko with it, then our safety is guaranteed.”

Slimes held special power in Arcana.

They were the untouchables.

Having a slime around you was equivalent to having a protective talisman. No fool would dare hurt a slime in Arcana.

“That’s actually a good idea.” Lulu grinned.

After the discussion ended, Alex decided to look for Dim Dim. Although it was faint, he could generally tell the little bun’s location through their special connection.

Lavinia and Evangeline decided to accompany him, while Lumi followed them from a distance.

The two ladies didn’t hesitate to link arms with Alex as they took a stroll along the city, causing countless gazes to land on Alex’s body.

He was already starting to get used to this kind of attention, so he paid it no mind.

After exploring the city for an hour, they finally saw Dim Dim and its best friend, Eiko.

The two seemed to be having a little picnic beside the river, which made Alex wonder if it was alright for them to suddenly disturb their lunch.

However, Dim Dim seemed to have sensed that Alex was nearby and glanced in his direction.

“Dim Dim!” Dim Dim waved at Alex, prompting the young man to wave back.

Now that he had been seen already, he decided to just approach the little bun to tell him about his plan tomorrow.

“Dim!” Dim Dim nodded.

“Thank you, Dim Dim,” Alex replied, as his friend readily agreed to his request.

Eiko also nodded and agreed to accompany Dim Dim.

With the agreement of the two little ones secured, Alex no longer bothered them and returned to the inn.

Or at least that was the plan. But along the way, they bumped into Astrea and Cassian.

Cassian immediately glared at Alex, while Astrea greeted him normally. The young lady was acting normally as if the incident in the ballroom didn’t even happen.

“Actually, I was planning to look for you earlier,” Astrea said. “Professor Arienna wanted to have a talk with us regarding the parade tomorrow.”

Cassian couldn’t say anything because this was true. Professor Arienna had called out to Astrea in the inn last night to inform her about the parade.

She had actually gone to see Alex first. However, he had stayed in a different inn, so the professor just told Astrea to relay this information if she met him by chance.

“I see. We should look for Professor Arienna as soon as possible then.” Alex nodded. “Do you know where she is?”

“She went to the meeting with the other academies about the parade for tomorrow,” Astrea replied. “She’ll probably be back in the inn after an hour or two.”

Since they needed to see the professor together, their group returned to the inn.

When they arrived, they saw Prince Edward and his party, who would also be joining the parade since they also won the competition.

The prince seemed to be in a good mood. The moment he saw Alex, he immediately dragged him to the corner of the room to whisper something in his ear.

“I’d like to thank you for your help with the matchmaker,” Prince Edward whispered. “I wouldn’t have met such an outstanding lady if not for you and his help.”

“You mean…” Alex looked at the prince in disbelief.

“Yes.” Prince Edward smiled faintly. “However, I still need to convince my father about it. The last time we talked, he proposed to make Astrea my fiance. But, I wish to choose my own wife, so I’ll do my best to convince him.”

“It will not be easy,” Alex said. “Though, I do hope you succeed.”

“I will succeed,” Prince Edward declared. “If not…”

A dangerous glint appeared in the prince’s eyes, which made Alex suddenly remember one of Prince Edward’s Bad Endings.

In that Bad Ending, he became the King after a civil war happened in the Kingdom of Avalon.

While Alex believed that the current prince wouldn’t follow that route, he still felt that caution was needed.

Because of this, he decided to have a talk with Princess Xenia later, asking her to pay close attention to her brother’s movements and stop him if he ever took the path that would send their kingdom to the point of no return.

At the moment, Alex wished to focus on Hy-Brasil.

His current priority was to save Aeris and Lapiz’s mother so their family would become complete again.

Admittedly, it was also necessary to unlock the “True Happy Ending” for Lapiz and Aeris’ route.

Alex no longer wanted to be greedy when it came to his queens. He simply wished for them to be happy.

So, even if he wouldn’t get anything in return from it, he would still do his best to finish this mission no matter what.

Though, little did he know that by the time they finally reached the legendary island, he would be forced to make a choice that could change the fate of Lapiz and Aeris’ family forever.
