Chapter 752: A Prison He Didn’t Want To Escape From [Part 1]

“Nessia… please. Escape this island,” Charles said, doing his best to cling to his will.

After entering the portal with Alex, Nessia was teleported near Charles.

Unfortunately, the young man had cleared the First Trial earlier than Alex and had been inside the Hermit’s Challenge for a few days.

Time moved differently inside the Hermit’s World.

An hour in Hy-Brasil was equivalent to a day inside the challenge.

As a result, Charles’ Synchronization Rate had already reached 90%.

He only snapped back to his usual self when he saw Nessia appear before him.

“I can’t leave you here, Charles.” Nessia hugged her lover, who was wearing a set of pitch-black full-plated armor. “If I have to escape, we must escape together!”

“Nessia… there is no tim—rghhh!” Charles clutched his head as a dark aura began to surround his body. “Please, just go! While I can still… control myse—rggghhh!”

“I’ll come back for you!” Nessia hurriedly ran away. “I promise!”

The young lady understood that if she got caught by the Dark Knight, the already slim chances of her helping her lover would disappear.

‘I have to find Alex and the rest,’ Nessia thought as she activated a rune of flight. ‘I must find him at all costs!’

The power of wind soon wrapped itself around her body, allowing her to soar to the sky.

Nessia made sure to look at the place where Charles was, imprinting the location in her memory.

However, just as she was about to escape, several giant flying ants emerged from the forest all of a sudden, surrounding her.

“Get out of my way!” Nessia shouted as she summoned dozens of Fire Spears, using brute force to break through the encirclement.

To her surprise, the Flying Ants suddenly froze in place as if a power was stopping them from hurting her.

Since Nessia was smart, she quickly understood it was her lover’s doing. Not wanting to waste his efforts, she quickly took the opportunity to fly north, where the World Tree was located.

According to Charles, it was the only safe place in this land. A place far from his grasp.

After sensing that his lover had finally escaped, the young man’s expression slackened.

A moment later, a black knight helmet materialized to cover his face.

Just as Charles was about to lose consciousness, he saw a few rows of text appear in front of him.

[Synchronization Rate: 95%]

“Nes…sia…”

The Dark Knight stopped moving for a few seconds. However, when it finally moved, the black aura surrounding his body intensified.

Noticing this, one of the giant flying ants landed beside him and paid homage to their King.

Then, several more followed suit, for he was the Conqueror whom they had pledged their allegiance to.

Kingdom of Faelarun…

“A-Alex?!” Chuck looked at his friend in disbelief. “You’re my brother—errr, I mean you’re King Aetherion?”

Alex looked back at his friend from head to toe. Just like Alex, Chuck was now an elf. However, he still had blonde hair and red eyes.

The only difference was that, unlike Alex, who looked more mature, Chuck remained the same.

He still looked like a teenager. However, he now went by the name “Fionn Sylvarin”.

While the two were having their reunion, another elf with blonde hair and red eyes appeared.

Alex blinked once, then twice, before finally recognizing Eleanora.

Though, just as he was about to greet her, the young lady moved toward Chuck and smacked his head without warning.

“Owwww!” Chuck rubbed his head before looking at the offender with injustice. “Why did you hit me, Eryniell?”

“Why should I not hit you?” Eleanora glared. “Not only did you run away to escape work this afternoon, but you also refused to have dinner with me. Don’t think that being the brother of His Majesty can save you from your duty of producing an heir with me!”

Alex clicked his tongue in response before looking at Chuck in disgust. He couldn’t believe that his roommate was actually living an easy life, while he was here, busy trying to think of ways to figure out how to clear their mission.

Then again, he also noticed one important detail. Because of this, he decided to test the waters.

“Eleanora, why are you acting like this?” Alex asked. “Have you forgotten the reason why we’re here?”

“Your Majesty, did you just call me Eleanora?” Eleanora asked back in confusion. “Had the Demon Lord hit your head so hard that you forgot my name?”

Alex stared at the young lady before shifting his attention toward Chuck. The young man shook his head helplessly, telling Alex that he had no idea what was happening either.

Yet before Alex could talk to Chuck some more, Eleanora grabbed hold of the blonde elf’s hand and pulled him away.

“Let’s go back to our room,” Eleanora said. “I’m going to conceive your child tonight, and we won’t stop until you stop moving.”

“A-Alex! Help me!” Chuck reached out to his best friend.

Alex smiled and raised his hand.

Though instead of extending it to grab Chuck, he gave his friend the middle finger instead.

“I see you’re here for a good time and not a long time, huh?” Alex sneered. “Enjoy your night. Have fun with your wife.”

“Traitor!”

“I don’t want to hear that from you, you traitor!”

The two were calling each other traitors, not knowing they were born from the same pod.

Eleanora found their exchange quite amusing. Still, she didn’t loosen her grip and dragged the struggling Chuck back to their bedroom so they could finally perform their duty as members of the royal family.

Just as Eleanora was about to make a turn in the hallway, she looked back at Alex with a mischievous smile on her face.

“Your Majesty, you should hurry up and conceive an heir too,” Eleanora said. “The Elders have prepared two concubines for you. If you and Queen Elyndar can’t produce an heir, then please look for them. I was the one who chose them based on your taste.”

“Since when do you know my taste?” Alex asked in amusement.

“How could I not?” Eleanora arched an eyebrow. “Weren’t you the ones who saved both of them, almost losing your life in the process? On top of that, both of them pledged to serve you for eternity. I don’t know about that human girl, but the elf girl is an extremely beautiful lady.”

After saying what she had to say, she dragged Chuck away with a fearless smile on her face.

Alex watched them leave until they disappeared from his sight.

His priority right now was to understand the end goal of this challenge, as well as locate his friends who must have been scattered across the world.

However, he was also worried about Eleanora.

As someone who had experienced the same thing, he was afraid that once she recovered her senses, she would stab Chuck repeatedly out of embarrassment when all of this was over.

‘Her Synchronization Rate might be at a very high level already.’ Alex frowned. ‘This is bad.’

Similar to Charles, the young lady had cleared the first mission earlier than the rest.

Because of this, she had stayed in the Hermit’s World longer than Alex and Chuck, which pushed her Synchronization Rate to above 80%.

He understood that if all of them were to hit 100% Synchronization Rate, they would all be stuck in Hy-Brasil forever.

And that was something Alex needed to prevent from happening no matter what.
