Chapter 2520 An Unexpected Outcome!

In that very moment, Zagreus released all his power, as his emotions, stress, and frustration reached their limits, and something emerged from it, hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, and then perhaps hundreds of thousands of small, mortal souls shaped as terrifying ghosts or as ethereal skeletons, wrapping together into a massive ghostly and etheric mass around him and the other gods.

FLAAASH!

The powerful claws of Kralax suddenly stopped, as he felt like they bounced back while shattering hundreds of souls at the same time.

"Hmm?!"

The Demon's eyes widened in disbelief, as he was pushed back despite Zagreus not even being strong enough to make a scratch on him!

CRAAASH!

And Zagreus' eyes, alongside his friends, widened. They were as shocked as he was after discovering this new, yet sacrificial power.

"T-The souls…! They were souls?"

Zagreus saw as the ghost and skeletons wrapped around him died one after another, shattered into etheric soul fragments and dissipating.

"J-Just what is going on?! This is… is this really my power?!"

The young god still couldn't understand it, he still couldn't quite get it.

But there was something deep within him, a latent power he had inherited from his father.

And right now, at the most decisive moment of his life…

It began to awaken.

"You sacrificed hundreds of souls to push me back?! Hahahaha! I guess you're quite pathetic, huh? Gods like you always talk about having the higher moral ground, but aren't you the same as us demons now?" Laughed Kralax. "You're pretty evil, huh?"

"T-That's not… I didn't do this!" Zagreus panicked, as he saw the souls die in agony one after another, feeling both confused and horribly guilty. "W-What sort of cursed power is this?!"

"Whatever it is, it saved our lives!" Glimmerdust said.

"Yeah!" nodded Sindarin. "Please Zagreus, don't let it get to your head!"

"Ah!" Zagreus snapped from his daze, as he quickly concentrated. "Right…!"

"We have to survive, Zagreus!" said Hanshuan.

"I know!" the young underworld god screamed. "Dammit…! I know it!"

The only thing he should be thinking right now is on how to survive with the rest of the gods by his side.

"Don't think that'll stop me though, if anything, it will be a delightful meal for a demon such as myself!" Kralax laughed, drooling as he rushed towards Zagreus. "Feed me all those souls!"

Resembling a blazing meteor, he clashed against Zagreus at lightning speed, as shockwaves of demonic flames and phantasmal energies erupted.

TRUUUUM!

Kralax hit Zagreus with all his power at full force, his demonic aura destroying hundreds of souls per second, which gathered around Zagreus to protect him.

"S-Stop…! Stop dying! Don't sacrifice yourself for me!"

Zagreus, however, hated this power, he tried to stop them, but the souls would relentlessly protect him, despite being much weaker than he was.

"HAHAHAHA! WHAT A PATHETIC POWER! CAN YOU EVEN ATTACK WITH THIS?!"

As Kralax laughed, he began opening his jaws and snapping them, rapidly eating souls one after another, it was buying time, but the cost was immeasurable!

"Stop…! Stop eating these souls, you bastard demon!"

Zagreus screamed while shedding a tear, his fists came together, as the souls suddenly began to move to respond to his emotions, becoming two massive fists.

BAAAM! BAAAM! BAAAM!

"W-Wha…?!"

Kralax suddenly found himself being pushed back again, as three powerful punches hit his head, toros, and legs, strong enough to leave bruises over his skin and shatter some of his scales.

"Blood…?"

And above all, he was bleeding, against a pathetic, weak god, he was bleeding!

"Y-YOU DARE…!"

Kralax grew furious, rapidly rushing back towards Zagreus, his demonic armament easily tearing apart the fist made of souls, and then shaping themselves into a long spear.

"I'LL END YOU NOW, ZAGREUS!"

"A-Ah!"

As Zagreus panicked, the souls wrapped around the bodies of his friends, their auras suddenly intensifying, as their divinities were strengthened.

"Stop it!"

"Zagreus!"

"No!"

All three of them screamed at the same time, their Divinities unleashing their power at once, as Kralax once more was pushed back!

BOOOMM!!

A gigantic blazing palm hit his entire body, sending him flying away several hundreds of meters!

"T-That's not his power…!"

Kralax glared back at Zagreus, only for something else to appear above him.

"Ngh?!"

A gigantic moon made of souls, darkened, overflowing with shadows.

FLASH!

Kralax quickly tried to evade it, but failed, the moon chased him around.

"What's this thing?!"

He quickly swung his claws after waiting for it to get closer but…

BOOOMM!!

"Ngaargh!"

He screamed in utter disbelief and frustration, and a bit of pain.

Hanshuan and Glimmerdust glanced at the scene in disbelief, the souls wrapping around them were dying one after another.

"T-This is…?"

"Our Divinities?"

This wasn't a wholesome power, nor one born from friendship or something, it was sacrificial and horrible the more you thought about it.

But this was… how they were going to survive!

"ENOUGH WITH YOUR GAMES! SHOWY ABILITIES THAT BARELY SCRATCH ME AREN'T GOING TO CUT IT, FUCKING BASTARDS!"

Kralax only grew more frustrated the attacks, despite being showy, were actually quite weak.

TRUUM!

He kicked the empty air, reaching Zagreus again, the souls wrapped around his arms, dying by the hundreds but managing to stop him for a few seconds.

Until…!

SPLAAASH!

A wave of silver liquid splashed over his entire body, infused with the holiness of moonlight.

"Ngh…?! T-This is…?! Don't tell me!"

FRSSSHHH!

And it began to burn Kralax's skin!

"GAAAAGGHHH!"

And pain, he finally felt proper pain!

This water was the holiest dew born from the Moon itself.

It was comparable to the holiest of waters, as a result.

"That was my power!"

Sindarin was amazed at what she could do now.

"That must have distracted him enough, but… His Power and Demonic Energy reserves haven't even lowered, he's as strong as before! We have to run!"

Zagreus didn't let this strange power get inside of his head; survivability was the top priority.

The four gods rapidly rushed away, Kralax, while agonizing, glared at them furiously.

"DON'T YOU DARE ESCAPE!"

He chased them with all his power, getting closer, and closer…

And closer!

Zagreus glared at him, pushing his friends further and further away.

However, Kralax only drew closer.

"Was this still not enough?!" Zagreus thought, falling into despair. "Is this how I'll die too?!"

RUMBLE!

Yet, out of nowhere, the white clouds above them shook, as an enormous figure twice as big as Kralax descended.

"Ngh?!"

Kralax felt a powerful, otherworldly pressure, as he was pushed back instantly.

TRUUUM!

"What now?!"

Kralax glared at the sudden uninvited guest that had appeared.

The Gods smiled, thinking it was the Humans Zagreus lured here!

And yet…

"Souls… where are the souls…? You! Do you have them with you?!"

It wasn't a robot at all, let alone a human.

It was something… bizarre.

A monster that was only mildly shaped as a humanoid.

Made of pink, purple, and black ethereal light resembling clouds swirling together.

Long fleshy tentacles, pink eyes across its entire body, and an aura that twisted reality.

Its own body constantly showed strange, bizarre images of people suffering, children smiling and playing, and of people lost within endless labyrinths, falling from endless cliffs, and more.

"You're…?!"

Even Kralax felt scared of the thing he just ended meeting.

Zagreus and the Gods only glanced for a second, but felt like their heads began to spin.

"A damn inhabitant from the Dream Plane! The hell you're doing here?!"

"Give me your dreams… and your souls…"

The thing moved towards Kralax, sending its ethereal, multi-dimensional tentacles towards him!

And wrapping them around his body.

"GAAARCK…!"

As Kralax struggled to free himself, Zagreus didn't waste time watching what was happening, although he smiled back at the Demon, showing him his middle finger.

"Serves you right, motherfucker!"

Before he and the gods ran away as far as possible.

Meanwhile, Kralax faced the monstrosity on his own, gasping for air as he couldn't even breathe.

Every second that he was being touched by this thing, his own memories and soul were being drained away.

"Y-YOU BASTARD…! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!"

Kralax couldn't believe what was happening!

He never expected a damned Inhabitant of the Dream Plane to appear.

The most mysterious, enigmatic, and strange beings that had invaded Genesis so far.

Indeed, the ghostly souls that Zagreus had spread out didn't ended luring a human with a robot.

They lured this thing!

But how so?

Well…

Above the clouds, a third party had just arrived, lured by nobody else than a radiant goddess of the sun.

"Come and feast, you horrendous things!"

Amaterasu smiled, as she brought with her a gigantic pink cloud full of strange, shapeless beings.

Galactic Humans.

Demons from Hell.

And now, Inhabitants of the Dream Plane.

The showdown was only getting more intense!
