FLAAASH!
Both coins literally pierced through the flames and made them disappear, extinguishing them as they glowed with bright golden light.
"E-EH?!"
The Demonic Human couldn't believe it, as both coins smashed his two eyes, piercing through his skull.
"AAAGGGHHH!"
His body hit the floor as his large hands were stuck on his face, trying to get out the coins.
But then…
"This is my lucky day… Tails again."
And he snapped his fingers one last time.
Both coins glowed brightly and then exploded.
BOOOMMM!!!
Ther bright light which didn't damage anything else but their target, engulfed the Demonic Human, turning him to cinders.
I see…
So this is the strength of the twelfth ranked, huh?
Sakamoto Heisuke!
What an incredible man.
His fighting style seems incredibly unique and also an hybrid style of both physical combat and magic.
And also, his unique power, his magic, or something else within him…
"That golden power…" I muttered.
"Did you notice, young lady?" Uzuki smiled as he looked at Sakamoto. "That's Sakamoto-san's Ability. He used to be a gambler in his early life… Somehow, such a life ended shaping the Magic Powers he gained."
"You mean…?" I asked.
"He's an unique fighter for sure," Takamura said. "And he might act like an annoying old man sometimes… but he's amazingly strong."
"Indeed," Uzuki nodded. "Sakamoto-san's ability is…"
Takamura and Uzuki looked at me, as both said the name of the ability together, while Heisuke walked towards us while readjusting his glasses.
"Fortune King."
"It's not as complicated as it seems, I can simply shift the Fortune Value of things around me, young lady," explained Sakamoto. "By using valuable items such as coins, I can imbue Fortune Value into them and make little tricks, that's all."
"Little tricks?! That was super strong magic though?" I asked in disbelief. "And how you were never touched by him…"
"I was manipulating the Fortune Value between me and my opponent," Heisuke said, finally smiling lightly. "By creating a vacuum, it is possible to make a foe always miss when they try to hit me."
"D-Doesn't that make you invincible?!" I asked.
"Well, there are certain people, strong enough to simply break through Fortune and Fate itself… your father for example," he said. "Such people, I can't ever win again. I don't want to undersell myself though, so I won't say more."
"Aw damn, I wanted to learn more about your weaknesses, Sakamoto!" Takamura laughed.
"That was amazing… and I did learn quite a lot," I nodded. "So using blackmailing, huh? Kind of scummy but that's the type of thing we have to do at the end."
"Indeed, always try to find their real identities and if they got any relatives," said Takamura. "And you'll see how quickly they begin to panic and speak! It's even better when they got kids, hehe."
Takamura was quite the scum…
"What are we going to do with his family now?" Uzuki asked.
"Nothing, leave them be," Sakamoto said. "Whether they'll survive with him or without him is not our problem, but don't pursue them… we did use them to blackmail him and get information, but at the end, they're innocent people that have nothing to do with this."
"Tche, always acting all righteous for no reason, you're a hitman dude," Takamura said.
"I am, but pointless killing has never been part of my job," said Sakamoto. "The first reason why I killed him was after I tested if I could revert him back, if I could, I would have brought him back to HQ alive… pitifully, the Demonic Power that consumed his body seemed to have been a permanent transformation, and it also altered his mind, he wasn't sane anymore."
"Hmm," Uzuki waved his hand, as phantasmal powers surged from them. "Strange, it seems I cannot communicate with his soul?"
"…That's what Demonic Power does, it burns your soul," said Heisuke. "When someone consumed by it dies, their Souls are eaten… usually."
"Hm, a pity," I nodded, walking towards the corpse. "But we can bring the corpse along for further investigation, and those pills, do you still have them, Takamura?"
"Yes ojou-sama~" he said, giving me the bag. "We don't know what it is so far, seems like a new experimental drug, but based in what he turned into, might be some weird drug made with Demon Blood."
"Demon Blood?" Uzuki asked. "How… who would ever make such a thing? And it doesn't kill people instantly either?"
"As he said, it made him stronger," Heisuke said. "It could be speculated that this is a specially made drug that doesn't kill people but can make them spontaneously turn into a Demonic Human… the more people eat this drug, the more dangerous things might become, Demonic Humans could pop up out of nowhere and causa damage to the infrastructure and civilians."
"Won't the Domain activate at that point?" I asked, storing the corpse inside my Inventory through my shadows. "We shouldn't really worry-"
"Young Lady, Domain Creation is not always reliable, and it sometimes can be half-assed too," Heisuke said.
"…What do you mean?" I wondered.
"He means that there are foes that can bypass Domains and even shatter them, otherworldly powers such as Demonic Power can do that, unless you're very strong while holding the Domain all on your own," Uzuki explained. "The World doing an automatic Domain Creation is only something that happens when a grand-scale battle will occur, but something of this small caliber usually doesn't get anything… Hence, civilians can actually get hurt."
"Wait what? Wouldn't there be news about supernatural or paranormal stuff then?" I asked.
"The media does well in covering that and so does the government…" Sakamoto said. "Sometimes we also backtrack those that make a fuss and silence them."
"You kill people that know about the Underworld?!" I asked.
"If we are asked to… or we can also delete their memories, that also works and its harmless, it is usually what the government asks," Heisuke said.
"The government… I had no idea we were dealing with them," I said. "I thought we were their enemies?"
