Epic Of Ice Dragon: Reborn As An Ice Dragon With A System

Chapter 2180: She Lives On

Chapter 2180: She Lives On

"I guess I’ll have to. There’s no other option," Drake said. "About Blood Dragons, my brother, I guess. Sea Dragons, Triton? I need to make him stronger, so his bloodline also becomes strong enough. I guess that boy will be my next disciple. Then there’s Demonic Dragons? Only my son is one so far. I guess I’ll ask for his blood, although it might be a little awkward. And lastly, Spirit Dragons? Hmm."

"Your daughter," said Jotun. "The little one. She is a Spirit Dragon."

"Kate? Wasn’t she a Technomancy Dragon?" Drake wondered.

"Technomancy Dragons have yet to be recognized as their own by Mother, but she is a Spirit Dragon," explained Jotun. "The last Sea Dragon, that boy, he’s also partially a Spirit too. Both of their blood should work."

"Alright then," Drake nodded. "Everything seems attainable, and we’re moving toward Sangre by now, so I guess the only complicated one is the Phantom Dragons. Hydra, you said? I’ll ask my grandma then. Thank you, Jotun. You’ve been of great help."

"Oh, don’t mention it," Jotun said, patting Drake with her sharp claws. "Hmm!"

She looked at both Drake and Amethyst, giggling.

"Ah, both of you look adorable together!" she said, using her claws to push them together. "Amethyst, why don’t you claim him as your husband, girl? You could definitely make incredibly strong children with the Dragon King’s seed! You’re wasting a great opportunity."

"W-What?!" Amethyst blushed as she glanced at Drake in embarrassment, running away from him. "No way! Why would I ever do that?! Ew! I only see him as an uncle at most!"

"Ouch," Drake felt a little hurt, but that was fine too. "Yeah, please don’t force her. Our relationship isn’t like that."

"Is that so? Hoho, alright then, my bad!" Jotun giggled. "Now go. I am sure you’re busy."

"We are. Let’s go, Amethyst. Next stop should be the Light Dragon Realm, right?" Drake asked.

"Yeah," Amethyst nodded. "I’ll open the gate myself."

FLUOSH!

Drake and Amethyst arrived at a realm of stars and light, walking through a stairway made of constellations as they reached the nebulas above this beautiful realm.

There, they found a giant made of pure light, a dragon of beautiful, glistening golden light.

The Primordial Mother of all Light Dragons, Asga.

This time, Amethyst was also moved.

"Grandmother."

The giant dragon looked down at Amethyst, smiling.

"Hello, Amethyst, my dear. I’ve been waiting for you. It has been a long while."

"Yes, it has. Umbral is dead."

"You defeated him?"

"Thanks to Drake’s help too, but I did take him down."

"I see. Well done. You’ve avenged your dear mother."

"I... I did, but..."

"..."

"Is she here? Did she reappear?"

"..."

"Please, can you check for me?!"

"Amethyst."

Asga looked down at her granddaughter, cradling her in her hands, lifting her up, and hugging her with her large body.

"You know that I’ll always love you, right? My dear granddaughter. You can visit any time or even stay with me if you want."

"Grandma. D-Does that mean?"

Amethyst started crying. Asga didn’t say a word, but her eyes looked like they were saying everything.

"I’m sorry."

"Ahh. No, it’s fine. I knew that it was a very small chance."

"Currently, we don’t know what happened to your mother’s soul, but I know that it hasn’t been destroyed either."

"No?"

"No. She simply went somewhere else."

"Can’t great-grandmother do something? She’s the strongest dragon, right?!"

"It would be too selfish to ask her for help. Her powers are being used to protect all of us, after all, Amethyst."

"Ah, yeah, I’m sorry."

"However, I will go ask her on your behalf and take any punishment if my question is too selfish."

"W-What?! But grandma!"

"Don’t worry."

She looked at Drake as she left Amethyst by his side.

"Drake, my King, please take care of her."

"Don’t worry. We’ll wait."

"Then."

Asga turned into particles of light and disappeared, emerging in a world of bright lights and intersecting colors, constantly twisting in an endless vortex.

At the center, a titanic dragon, bigger than anybody, stood.

She was slumbering, but once one of her daughters arrived, she quickly opened her bright rainbow eyes.

"Asga."

"Mother."

"Ask."

"It’s about my granddaughter, Amethyst. What happened to her mother?"

"Hm."

Tiamat fell silent for a few seconds.

"She was slain by the betrayer, Umbral, and had her body and soul turned into Soul Gear. Then, Umbral was slain by her daughter. His soul and body were destroyed. His Soul Gear broke into Soul Essence."

"Is she, so we couldn’t recover her?"

"It was impossible with her soul in that state."

"I-I see."

"A fragment of her, however, lives."

"What?!"

"A power I do not understand, it goes beyond mine. But there’s something that has taken hold of this fragment, becoming part of Amethyst’s powers."

"So?"

"Technically, she lives within her daughter."

Amethyst and Drake heard the conversation, which Asga had purposely connected to where she went, leaving Amethyst in tears once more.

"S-So she’s really there? With me?" Amethyst cried. "Drake, uncle Drake, she’s alive! She’s, uuhh."

"There, there, it’s okay," Drake hugged her, comforting her as Amethyst broke into tears over his chest, his long wings wrapping around her tenderly. "I’m happy for you, Amethyst."

After that, Asga reappeared, back from the Realm where only Tiamat existed, as she smiled at Amethyst.

"Apparently, your mother is somehow within you?" Asga didn’t really know what to say. "I don’t really understand what my mother meant with that."

"It’s okay, I do understand!" Amethyst smiled. "It’s something a little complicated, a power born from our hearts named Archetypes, which Drake has shared with me."

"Archetypes, how interesting," Asga said.

Drake didn’t really want to explain these things, which were a secret, to everyone.

So he quickly decided to change the topic.

"Umbral apparently had a fragment of Chaos. I believe he fought a fragment of the Chaos Dragon and ate her," explained Drake. "And well, the Chaos Dragon are your original body and soul fragments, right, Asga?"

"Yes, I felt something. A piece of myself came back," nodded Asga. "And it seems that fragment has been destroyed. I’ve already been dead, so this didn’t change much. I’m glad Umbral was defeated, and this is finally over."
