Chapter 2220: Fighting The Horde 2

Chapter 2220: Fighting The Horde 2

-----

Chris, Lucia, and Jake watched in disbelief as both dragons rampaged through an army of hundreds of thousands of zombies and mutants, taking them down by the hundreds each second.

"Do we even need to do something right now?" Chris Bluefield wondered. "Your group is insanely strong, Drake."

"Well, these are my disciples," Drake said. "This is some good warm up for them."

"They’re doing exceptionally well," Lucia said. "However, it seems their defenses aren’t flawless. Although they fight with a lot of flashy moves and magic, plenty of zombies have sneaked out of their range and are coming here."

"Over a thousand..." Jake said.

Indeed, despite Amethyst and Triton’s best efforts, the sheer number of zombies and mutants was overwhelming, to the point that thousands slipped past their range. The undead targeted the people behind the two dragons, realizing these disciples of Drake might be more than they could handle.

"Hmph, alright then, time to clean this mess!" Drake nodded. "Everyone, let’s go help Amethyst and Triton."

After hearing Drake’s words, everyone charged forward—his children, wives, friends, and allies.

"Alright, let’s go, Benladra!"

"Okay mama!"

The first to step into the battlefield and halt the zombies’ advance were Benladann and Benladra, mother and daughter fighting as a duo.

"Here we go! How about a nice cleaving horizontal slice, huh?!"

Benladann swung her giant axe horizontally, enveloped in deadly chaos flames, burning through hundreds of zombies at once. They exploded and crumbled into ashes.

SLAAASH!

"Seems to work just fine mama! Now, I think they’re pretty weak to light too, right?"

Meanwhile, Benladra harnessed the power of Celestial Light and Starlight in her Dragonoid body. A radiant aura encompassed her and her feathered wings, enabling her to fly at lightning speed, or perhaps even faster. With her spear in hand, she thrust it forward, piercing dozens of zombies at once. The glistening bright light reduced them to dust and ashes instantly.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

While Benladann and Benladra battled the endless hordes of zombies emerging from the dimensional distortions, Miranda and Drakda advanced.

"Drakda, don’t be too reckless, and don’t transform! The whole bridge will fall apart if you do, okay son?"

"Ok!"

Miranda swiftly mutated her body, transforming into a giant amalgamation of monsters—a chimera about ten meters tall, large but not disastrous. She charged forward, using giant mantis scythes to slice through zombies while unleashing devastating breath attacks of black and red flames from her lion-like head, blasting zombies and mutants alike.

"Rooaaarrr!"

At the same time, little Drakda roared adorably, opening his tiny mouth to release a titanic breath attack—a concentrated blast of chaos, darkness, and void that disintegrated hundreds of zombies.

BOOOMMM!!!

"Drakda, I told you to not make a disaster!"

Miranda panicked as she saw the boy had blown up part of the bridge...

"Oops, hehe..."

The little devil laughed as zombies rushed toward him. He pointed with his tiny finger, and a black hole appeared in their chests, consuming them until they vanished into the void.

"Mama, let’s fight too..." Kate looked at her siblings fighting with their mamas, wanting the same.

"Alright, I suppose we can take this as a little mother and daughter bonding moment?" Andromeda said, flying forward with her daughter perched on her large shoulders, as she was quite literally a giantess.

"Yaaay!" Kate smiled cutely, rapidly manifesting a silver portal behind her. Giant machines emerged one by one, shaped like animals or dragons—her favorite forms—firing missiles, machine guns, and laser beam guns, devastating zombies across a wide area in seconds.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

"I should probably reinforce the bridge... It won’t stop it from being destroyed if they transform into dragons, but it should withstand explosions of this level."

Andromeda touched the bridge with her bare soles, infusing the structure, hundreds of kilometers long, with her silver and white aura.

"{Item Durability Reinforcement}"

FLUOSH!

The system cataloged the bridge as an "item" and granted it enhanced durability, making it thousands of times tougher while repairing the damage Drakda had caused.

"Is it done mama?" Kate asked.

"All done dear," Andromeda nodded, kissing her forehead.

"Okay!" Kate nodded, donning sunglasses with a smug smile. She summoned a giant mech, which she and her mom piloted, marching forward.

"GRUOOOOHHH!"

A massive mutant emerged, its tentacles grabbing Kate’s robots and tearing them apart one by one. It was incredibly muscular and over ten meters tall.

"This one’s tougher."

Kate quickly adjusted trinkets inside her machine, merging several robots into a titanic cannon that fired a concentrated proton beam, thundering across the bridge’s surface.

BOOOMMM!!!

The gigantic mutant was struck down, its body electrocuted and burned, then disintegrated after resisting for a few seconds.

"Is it my idea or are those monsters oddly more resilient?" Alma wondered. "They shouldn’t really be as strong as they are... I mean, your family’s demolishing them but still."

She oversaw her group’s attack, all fighting as a cohesive unit against the incoming zombie hordes. Hermes twisted space, forming cages to trap a hundred zombies, which the psychic twins squeezed to death with their powers. Callon’s Flame Cannons, stolen from Stone’s dwarven Magitech golems, then burned the remains.

Root, meanwhile, extended his body everywhere, forming a giant wooden wall and fortress to block zombies from reaching the castle. As literal wood, he seemed to attract less attention from the zombies, who were lured by living beings with flesh and blood.

"I know what you mean," Drake nodded. "We’ve seen this weird phenomenon before, when we found other humans from Earth on the other side of the continent. Their technology was plain and simple Earth technology, yet it carried a strange ’force’ that seemed to weaken anything it touched or that touched things or living beings from this world."

"It weakens them?" Alma asked, confused. "H-How does that even work?"

"It’s hard to explain..." Drake said. "It doesn’t exactly weaken them per se, it’s more like there’s a strange power within those from Earth’s origin, which I think we don’t have after we reincarnated here."
