Chapter 2240: Siblings Reunited 1

Chapter 2240: Siblings Reunited 1

-----

Surtr quickly looked at the newest members of our group, not at Root or Alma, but at the other new members, a trio of Earthlings.

Someone connected to his soul?

Was that even possible? These people came from another world.

He looked at them, running toward them.

His tall figure towered above them with his white skin and red scales, long red hair, and sharp golden eyes. He sure didn't look human.

But he wasn't a Fire Giant-like Dragonoid either, more human-like for some reason.

"You...! Who are you? Drake's friend?" Chris wondered. "Nice to meet you, I guess?"

"Huh?" Lucia's eyes widened. "Wait... that face..."

"Haaah... Haaah... W-What's your name?! You!" Surtr asked, looking at Lucia. "What's... what's your name?"

"I... I'm Lucia..." she said. "We come from Earth... I... may I help you?"

"You're... Lucia, you said?" Surtr's eyes widened as he suddenly started crying. "Lucia..."

"Hm?" Lucia tilted her head as she looked at Surtr more closely. "I... can I see your face?"

"Eh?" Surtr, who was crying, slowly saw Lucia walk toward him.

"You're... you look so much like him..." she muttered. "But... it can't be... you..."

"I..." Surtr muttered. "Lucia... you… you remember me?"

Lucia's eyes widened as she covered her mouth, stepping back.

And then, her eyes started crying.

"A-Ah... no... wait... this can't really be...! You're... are you really...?" she muttered.

Surtr looked at her, just as shocked.

"Lucia... it's me... I know you can tell... my Dragonoid form... it has my appearance from my previous life..."

"...Big brother?"

Wait, what?!

She's his sister?!

.

.

.

Surtr could still remember it even now.

It had been years since his reincarnation, and yet...

He could never forget the day he died back on Earth.

A big fire burned his home out of nowhere.

He did the best he could to save his sister, sacrificing his own life by doing so.

His mother and father, dead.

And as the flames embraced him, and he burned to death, crushed by his own collapsing house...

He was then swallowed by darkness and heard a voice that granted him a wish and guided him to another world.

A world of magic and monsters, of wonders and gods, of cultivation and endless conflicts.

And of fantasy like nothing he had ever thought possible before...

As Surtr faced countless challenges and fought to protect those he grew to love in this new world...

He still always had her in his heart.

His dear sister, whom he hoped was still alive somewhere...

He hoped with all his heart that she could be happily living her life.

His dear sister.

Lucia.

"It's really you... Lucia... my sister..."

Surtr couldn't believe it. After all these years, he never thought it possible for such a thing to ever happen.

And yet, it happened.

The worlds converged, and it just happened that his sister had not been living a normal life.

After the traumatic accident that took away her family, something within her awakened.

After a week of being in a coma due to the shock and the burn wounds on her body...

She woke up in a hospital, feeling strange, as if she had a sixth sense.

Accompanied by the tragic news that her family didn't make it and that she was the only survivor...

A flame blazed within her heart, born from her own trauma and her hatred toward the man who burned her house and killed her dear family.

This hatred, these emotions, all aligned perfectly within her mind, and something, a small talent that would have remained hidden her entire life...

Awakened.

FLUOSH!

In that moment, flames surged from her hands, and she ended up burning her hospital room, causing a lot of chaos.

When it was resolved, and she was moved to another room, she was interrogated by cops. In the end, she barely managed to hide what happened.

But even then...

This power, the flames that took everything away from her, was now her power...

"And so the Flame Herald has awakened."

"Eh?"

And amidst her tears that night, Lucia saw her.

A girl with long black hair and blue eyes, floating in midair, surrounded by ethereal light.

Wearing a Japanese sailor-style schoolgirl uniform.

"Your destiny and that of your brother are connected... one day, you will see him again."

"What?! My brother is dead! W-What... Who are you?!"

"Walk the path you see most fit, seek revenge or not... but make sure to grow stronger. The future will need you."

"The future...?"

As Lucia cried, the girl disappeared, as if she had never been there.

She didn't understand what happened or what she saw.

Was that a ghost? Or her own imagination?

Could this all be a dream she had yet to wake up from?

Or... something else entirely?

Perhaps it was all real.

Years went by. Lucia tried her best to blend in at her school, to live as a normal girl.

But she couldn't.

The powers within her... they attracted others like her.

Espers.

Some came to recruit her, and others to kill her and steal her powers.

Espers could take the psychic power of another if they killed them.

She faced countless hardships, battles, and many situations where she almost died...

But she survived through them all. In the end, she accepted who she was and what she was...

After having killed over five other Espers who once came after her, her Psychic Powers had grown and mutated to a tremendous degree.

Ultimately, instead of being sent to prison, the government made a deal with her, turning her into a special government agent specializing in taking down supernatural targets that modern weaponry couldn't easily dispose of.

Like this, she started her career as Lucia, the Crimson Flame.

She dyed her brown hair red, assuming a completely new identity, embracing who she was and...

Eventually, one day, meeting Chris Bluefield, the man she would fall in love with, and with whom she had faced countless challenges together.

All of it, from Ivan Wesker's battle to the zombie invasion, led to this moment.

It was a moment that the girl in the sailor uniform had prophesied, but that she never believed.

Until now.

When the prophecy came true.
