"Andromeda, how much?"
"60%!"
"Over halfway there, let’s keep progressing!"
Andromeda felt a large flow of Cursed Energies moving through her body. Assimilating this energy and adapting to it and this dimension was crucial for her to properly reconnect with everyone and accurately pinpoint their current locations, which might allow Drake to teleport directly to them using his Dungeon Gates.
Before, to ensure they wouldn’t get separated, Drake had created special Dungeon Gate Runes and imprinted them into everyone’s Souls, so he could teleport to their side if something terrible happened. Right now, his trump card couldn’t be used!
He was clearly very angry about that.
His wives, his dear children, his family, and his friends—he was worried about all of them... However, he also decided to calm down and trust them.
He knew they had trained their entire lives, that they were much stronger now, and that they had even absorbed part of his own powers. All the dragons did.
They could handle this until he could find them at least.
He had to trust them and have faith. It was the only thing he could do now.
Aside from chewing wooden walls, paper doors, and Yokai by the hundreds of thousands...
These moments also helped him think about many things, about what happened before, the battle he went through, and those incredible techniques he pulled off thanks to everyone’s help.
As Augustus had told him, the true power of the Dragon King would only emerge when he had other Dragons by his side, especially those with whom he had already forged strong bonds.
How they all lined up together back then, roaring and unleashing their true power, and how it felt as if Drake’s Venerable strength flowed through them as well, thanks to his Dragon King’s powers.
To the point they even had their own "Super Forms," as Drake called his Golden Transformation, making him wonder if this too was part of the true power of the Dragon King...
"How much, Andromeda?"
"Almost 70%! And—"
"At last, we’ve found you."
"Hm?!"
Drake’s eyes widened as he suddenly saw a silhouette manifest out of a black portal in the ceiling. He tried to reach it with his Aura, but it swiftly disappeared, only to reappear farther away from him.
"Who are you?! Are you one of Nobunaga’s lapdogs? Let me tell you, I won’t have mercy!"
"Oho, so scary! It looks like you’ll be fun to play with."
"I like him. I’ll be taking his wings and tail once we’re finished..."
"Hm, let’s just finish this quickly."
Suddenly, the black portal opened again, revealing three figures who stepped out, all overflowing with Heaven and Earth Essence, evolved to a Divine degree.
They seemed to be all men, although their ages weren’t entirely clear to Drake. They appeared to be in their late twenties or early thirties based on appearance alone, though they were likely thousands of years older.
All three wore long robes and puffy pants, with golden accessories around their muscular frames. Their youthful, handsome faces glared at Drake with bloodlust.
They seemed human at first, but Drake quickly realized they clearly weren’t. Aside from their evolved Divine Heaven and Earth Essence, they had long black, red, and blue nails, black skin with red veins growing around their arms, legs, chest, and neck, demonic horns protruding from their foreheads, third eyes, and even empty holes in their chests, leaking black cursed mist.
"It seems this is just a game for you..." Drake said. "Answer my question."
"So rude~ We aren’t working for a human. We are here because Lord Hajun, who uses that human as his vessel, called us."
"We are Divine Kami, creations of Amaterasu-sama, whom we hope can rest in peace."
"We led the rebellion alongside Susanoo-sama."
"What?!"
"I am Takemikazuchi, Divine Kami of Thunder and Swords~!" the first of the trio spoke, with long blonde hair, the tips of his spiky hair painted red. He had clear brown skin and sharp crimson eyes, carrying a pair of thunderbolt-shaped swords. "Right hand of Susanoo-sama."
"I am Futsunushi, Divine Kami of War and Strategy...!" the second spoke, with a burlier, less lean physique than Takemikazuchi. He had long blue hair tied into a ponytail and sharp red eyes, holding a pair of fans embedded with several blades. "Left hand of Susanoo-sama!"
"I am Hachiman, Divine Kami of Archery..." the third spoke, with short, bob-styled black hair and pale white skin, alongside calm, expressionless blue eyes. He seemed the tamest, holding a giant war bow with no arrows, which Drake assumed was magical.
"You call yourselves Kami, and yet you have horns and strange holes in your chests. Surely Amaterasu didn’t make you that way, right?" Drake asked, his Aura fluctuating as Orochi suddenly noticed them, his many crimson eyes widening.
"Oh, this? We have been blessed by the Demonic Power of Lord Hajun, the Great Demon King of the Sixth Heaven."
"We weren’t as strong before, you see. We lacked the confidence to confront Amaterasu-sama... but he gave us the potential to surpass everyone."
"With this power, we achieved our goals."
"So you’re a bunch of sellouts who, let me get this straight, betrayed their own creator and literal mother over something as petty as wanting what she had? Is that correct?!" Drake seemed even angrier now, as that Goddess they killed, Amaterasu, was his wife and the mother of one of his children.
Seeing the bastards who made her suffer and killed her in cold blood made his blood boil with anger...
"Yeah, that’s right... Pretty much!"
"Indeed, we desired the throne of the gods!"
"Susanoo-sama deserved it more than his sister. He is truly a great leader, and Zipangu is a better place thanks to him."
"A better place? Overrun by Demon Yokai?!" Drake asked angrily. "You’re all insane and miserable bastards..."
"T-Those bastards...! They’re Susanoo’s Three Fools!" Orochi said, surprising Drake while recalling memories of his past. The Snake God had faced these beings a few times through his life, they were Susanoo’s greatest bootlickers.
