Chapter 2303: Oda Nobunaga’s Endless Castle [21]

"What? Aahhh! Where are we?!"
Celene quickly realized this wasn’t where they were before. The air was very thick for some reason and somewhat toxic, and the stagnant, silent atmosphere made it seem very unnerving.
"I believe we’ve landed in a dimensional construct created by that man known as Oda Nobunaga, who originates from the world known as Zipangu, which connected to Yggdrasil recently," Hydra explained, looking around with a calm and adventurous expression on his many heads. "Hmm, wouldn’t you think this is quite fascinating?"
"F-Fascinating? That’s far from what I would ever think about this situation, Hydra!" Celene sighed, standing up and looking around. "Um, are they all just the same room? How long are these?"
"While you slept, I inspected the surrounding area using my Draconic Phantoms, and I was able to find out there are at least more than a thousand rooms repeating themselves endlessly. I assume there might be millions or billions. This is a titanic structure powered and fueled by the dimension where we landed," Hydra explained very thoroughly, showing just how methodical he was. "I presume the intention of our enemy was to separate us and trap us alone so we would get attacked by something or someone, in hopes that we would die alone, away from each other."
"Y-You were able to deduce all that?" Celene asked.
"Deduce? I did not deduce much. All of these things were easily deduced based on what I’ve seen so far," Hydra said. "You see, Celene, there’s nothing stronger than our minds and our eyes. Observing and concentrating on your surroundings, focusing on what you see, and analyzing even the simplest of things will always lead you to the truth."
"Uh-huh..." Celene just nodded, without really understanding what he was talking about.
"And now here we are. I am stripped of my tower and away from our new friends. Well, I don’t miss them too much. We just met a few hours ago, hahaha! Is it the same for you?" Hydra laughed.
"Not really. I have met Drake and everyone for over two weeks now, but mostly when we were inside his divine realm..." Celene said. "He’s a very kind and thoughtful man... I sometimes felt a little jealous of his family, of his wives— I-I mean, I didn’t... I didn’t say anything, okay?"
"Hmm?" Hydra raised an eyebrow with several of his heads. "I agree, Drake is quite a kind dragon. I suppose that’s a fitting trait for our young King. Nonetheless, I wish we could have met for longer..."
"Things escalated pretty quickly. We were supposed to visit Vanaheim first, then move to Alfheim, perhaps even visit Midgard briefly, but I suppose our enemies were not going to sit and wait for us," Celene sighed.
"Ah, yes, I was in Alfheim before. It’s a pretty lush place," Hydra said. "It was a nice view from above the clouds... I was also constantly being chased by Oberon’s drones."
"You were?" Celene asked.
"Yes, it was quite troublesome, but I liked our game of cat and mouse. I was always a step ahead of him, and he could never catch me! Hahaha!" Hydra laughed. "However, when he created the Singularity Vortex, I got trapped in the commotion, and I could barely do anything to save the continent or the people there..."
"Hydra..." Celene noticed how Hydra gradually changed, becoming frustrated that he couldn’t make a difference. "Well, you don’t have to blame yourself for something you couldn’t do, right? Now that we are here, we are actively trying to make a difference."
"Well, so to speak, we’re now trapped," Hydra said, looking around with his several heads. "I suggest we start moving at the very least. There’s little for us to do here alone."
"I agree wholeheartedly," Celene nodded, as they started their journey through the endless corridors.
While walking and inspecting their surroundings, Hydra constantly used his powerful Alchemy Magic to synthesize the cursed miasma over time, slowly becoming more accustomed to it.
But because he was a Death Dragon, the miasma and the curses actually barely affected him. If anything, he felt stronger in this place, but it wasn’t the case for Celene, so he had to find a cure to prevent her from falling unconscious.
And also, despite feeling stronger here, the cursed miasma still inhibited his ability to connect to the draconic records or use teleportation magic or magic devices.
"Hmm, I think this will do," Hydra nodded, using his own blood as an ingredient to finish synthesizing a pitch-black pill. "Celene, eat this."
Hydra offered her the pill, which was watermelon-sized for big dragons like her.
"Hm? A pill? It’s black..."
"It’ll help you get used to the miasma and gain a natural resistance, which can grow into an immunity," Hydra explained. "We Death Dragons, like the living Dragons, are not bothered or damaged by evil or corrupted energies or substances. Demonic Energy, Chaotic Energy, and even this Cursed Miasma have no effect on us. If anything, they make us stronger."
"Wait, what? I had no idea that Death Dragons had such a wonderful talent..." Celene said, looking at the pill. "I guess I should give it a try? I’ll trust you, Hydra... I think you’re a good dragon."
"Thank you," Hydra nodded, as Celene swallowed the pill.
"Gulp... Hmm, I don’t feel any different," Celene said.
"It’ll take effect once it’s fully digested. Have patience," Hydra said. "In the meantime, let’s continue."
As they moved and explored the area, Hydra continuously analyzed the repeating areas and even the walls and the patterns.
He quickly came to several conclusions, surprising Celene greatly.
"It seems that this place repeats itself every thirty-two rooms," he concluded. "The pattern of the floor, the small candle, and the furniture we see repeat themselves every five, six, and eight rooms."
"You were able to analyze such small things?" Celene was surprised.
"It was nothing too difficult," Hydra said. "More importantly, I believe I’ve figured out something."
