Chapter 1119: SRLE (19) | The Vows and the Spoils
Alarms wailed from everywhere.
Floodlights snapped on, bathing the courtyard in blinding white light. Dozens of Goliath Vanguard mercenaries flooded out of the mansion's front doors, armed to the teeth with glowing magic rifles, heavy broadswords, and combat artifacts.
The Guild Master, a hulking, seven-foot-tall brute completely encased in diamond-hard rock armor, pushed his way to the front.
"Who the fuck are you?!" the Guild Master roared, his voice amplified by magic. "Do you have any idea whose territory you just dropped into?!"
Rudy looked at the giant with absolute boredom. He glanced down at Maria, who was watching the scene with flushed cheeks, deeply aroused by the sheer display of dominance.
"Maria," Rudy asked casually. "Did these guys sign a lease?"
"No, Hubby," Maria purred, wrapping her arms tighter around his neck. "They're squatters."
"Shame," Rudy sighed. He looked back at the Guild Master. "The landlord is back. And your rent is paid in blood."
"Kill him!" the Guild Master screamed. "Turn that arrogant prick into paste!"
The mercenaries opened fire. Hundreds of high-velocity mana bullets, explosive fireballs, and concentrated laser beams converged on Rudy from all directions. It was enough firepower to level a city block.
Rudy didn't try to block or fly away, he just projected a micro-thin field of dark matter two inches from his skin.
Every single projectile stopped dead in mid-air. The fireballs snuffed out. The lasers bent and dissipated. The bullets hung suspended, vibrating with trapped kinetic energy.
The mercenaries stopped shooting. Panic rippled through their ranks as they stared at the impossible sight.
"My turn," Rudy whispered.
He flicked his wrist.
The suspended bullets instantly reversed direction, accelerating at ten times their original speed. They tore through the mercenaries like wet paper. Heads exploded like overripe melons. Torsos were ripped in half, spilling hot, steaming guts all over the manicured lawn. The courtyard turned into a slaughterhouse in less than a second.
Blood rained down, painting the white marble fountains crimson.
Only the Guild Master remained, his diamond-rock armor having barely deflected the returning fire.
He stared at the pulverized remains of his elite guild, his knees shaking.
"Y-You're a monster," the Guild Master stammered, taking a step back. "What the fuck are you?!"
"I'm the guy who wants to fuck his wife in peace," Rudy said. "And you're ruining the mood."
Rudy simply looked at the Guild Master and manipulated the gravity around the man's heart.
The giant gasped, dropping his massive weapon. He clawed at his armored chest as the gravity inside his ribcage increased to a hundred Gs.
His diamond armor held, but his organs didn't. With a sickening crunch, the Guild Master's body imploded from the inside out. Blood shot out of his helmet's visor, and the massive tank collapsed into a heap of scrap and gore.
Silence fell over the Ross Estate, broken only by the crackle of burning debris.
Rudy finally stepped out of the crater. He walked calmly over the mangled corpses, carrying Maria up the grand marble steps of her childhood home. The massive oak front doors were locked. Rudy kicked them right off their hinges, sending the heavy wood smashing into the grand foyer.
He walked inside.
The mansion was exactly as Maria remembered it, though tainted by the smell of cheap cigars and the rival guild's trash.
"They ruined the rugs," Maria noted, her voice breathy. The adrenaline of the slaughter and the overwhelming power of her man had left her pussy completely drenched.
"We'll hire cleaners tomorrow," Rudy said, carrying her up the sweeping, spiral staircase. "Where is the master bedroom again?"
"Third floor. East wing," Maria whispered, burying her face in his neck and kissing his pulse point. "The room with the reinforced doors."
Rudy navigated the massive hallways, stepping over a few terrified servants who had dropped to their knees, begging for their lives.
Rudy ignored them. He reached the east wing, found the heavy double doors of the master suite, and shoved them open.
The room was massive, featuring a sprawling canopy bed, panoramic windows overlooking the ruined city, and the exact same layout from the old timeline where they had held their private wedding.
Rudy walked over to the edge of the bed and finally let Maria's feet touch the ground.
She immediately grabbed his lapels, her eyes dark with lust. The Warlord Don was gone. She was just a woman completely possessed by the god who had slaughtered an army to give her back her home.
"You got the house back," Maria whispered, reaching down to stroke the massive bulge straining against his slacks. "Now... it's time to claim the bedroom."
She looked around the room, taking in the familiar canopy bed, the sweeping drapes, and the sprawling vanity. It was exactly as she remembered from the forgotten timeline.
"Lilim isn't here to play priest this time," Rudy murmured, his hands resting on her hips, feeling the heat of her skin through the thin silk of her crimson dress.
"We don't need a priest," Maria whispered fiercely, her eyes locking onto his. "We don't need the Sanctum, and we don't need witnesses. I belong to you. I always have."
Rudy smiled. He raised his right hand. Dark matter and condensed golden mana swirled around his fingertips, solidifying in a matter of seconds into two perfectly forged bands of pure energy and obsidian.
He took Maria's trembling left hand and slid the glowing ring onto her ring finger.
It settled perfectly, a pulsing brand of absolute ownership.
"In the old world, you bet your life on me," Rudy said. "In this world, I tore down an army just to give you your bedroom back. I claim you, Maria Ross. As my Don, my partner, and my wife. In this timeline, and whatever comes next."
Tears pricked Maria's eyes, but she didn't let them fall. She took the second ring and slid it onto his finger.
"And I claim you," she breathed, her voice thick with emotion and overwhelming lust. "As my King. Now, husband... consummate this damn marriage before I lose my mind."
Rudy didn't need another invitation.
