Chapter 1183: The Overlord's Throne

Chapter 1183: The Overlord’s Throne

Rudy turned away from the screaming monument in the wall and faced the terrified royal court gathered in the courtyard. He brushed a speck of dust from his tailored suit jacket before raising both hands toward the crimson sky.

This time, he did not wait for Virgil to arrange a formal expedition to the edge of the world. He bypassed geographical limitations by grabbing the very fabric of spatial reality and tearing it open.

“Since we have everyone’s attention, I believe it is time to formalize my visit,” Rudy stated.

Crimson energy flared around his fingers as he dragged the Netherworld directly to his location. The solid cobblestones beneath their feet transformed into a surreal liquid surface rippling like dark water. Freezing mist spilled from the spatial tear to flood the courtyard.

The blood-red sky above them fractured, revealing a sprawling expanse of distant alien stars and twin moons.

At the center of this imported dimension floated a towering staircase made of disconnected hovering rocks. High above the ground sat the ancient Lord’s Throne, carved from pristine weathered stone.

King Virgil collapsed to his knees in the rippling water, his crimson eyes widening in profound terror.

“The Chamber of the Floating Throne,” Virgil gasped. He pressed a trembling hand to his chest. “My Lord, the ancient texts warn that intruders who climb those steps become trapped in a spatial loop, jumping between rocks for eternity. Those who attempt to fly directly to the seat are repelled and cast down the second their boots touch the stone.”

Rudy offered the terrified monarch an amused smile. “That sounds like a very effective security system for imposters.”

He walked toward the floating rocks while Jane and Rias watched in breathless anticipation. Rudy placed his leather shoe onto the first hovering stone.

The ancient spatial defenses recognized the foreign entity and attempted to lock him into an endless loop, yet Rudy ignored the dimensional snare. He stepped upward and bypassed the traps effortlessly, gliding up the floating staircase to reach the apex in a matter of seconds.

Rudy stood before the ancient sacred throne. He placed a hand on the carved stone backrest and frowned.

“This looks uncomfortable as always,” Rudy remarked. “Sitting on a cold slab of rock for eternity is terrible for my posture.”

He snapped his fingers. The sacred ancient throne shattered into millions of fine gray dust particles and blew away on the freezing breeze.

Virgil let out a strangled gasp, watching the most holy relic of their history vanish into the wind.

Rudy tapped into his reality-warping magic to forge a brand new seat. A towering majestic throne constructed from polished obsidian and plush crimson velvet materialized in the empty space. It featured sleek modern lines infused with god-tier elegance.

Rudy turned around and sat down comfortably on the plush cushions. He crossed one leg over his knee and rested his elbow on the armrest.

The instant his body settled onto the throne, a colossal dark shadow erupted from his silhouette. The darkness expanded across the starry sky, taking the distinct shape of towering horns and sprawling wings. The shadow eclipsed the twin moons and blanketed the entire courtyard in a terrifying majestic twilight.

Ancient drums and roaring brass instruments began booming across the horizon. The sound resonated through the earth and shook the palace walls. The very fabric of the world reacted to his ascension. Rivers paused their flow, the winds halted their path, and the stars overhead shifted their alignment to form a glowing crown above the vampire capital.

Every living entity across the cosmos felt the shift. From the hidden depths of the oceans to the highest peaks of distant planets, a profound realization struck the souls of every strong and worthy being. Lacking knowledge of his human name or exact location, they inherently understood the true ruler had returned to claim his domain.

Rudy looked down at the trembling vampires in the courtyard. He engaged his vocal projection and sent his voice rippling across all worlds, realms, and dimensions.

‘How many times do I have to do this? I already did this a while back with Nyxia.’

“I am the Lord of Lords,” Rudy declared, his voice echoing with undeniable world-shattering authority. “I am the Overlord.”

Virgil pressed his forehead against the rippling water-like ground and wept openly in pure devotion. The elder vampires followed their king and prostrated themselves before the newly crowned god.

Rias beamed with radiant pride, her eyes sparkling with tears of joy as she looked up at her future husband seated upon his dark throne.

Jane stood frozen beside her sister, her breath catching in her throat. The lingering doubts in her mind evaporated into dust. She stared at the majestic terrifying entity bathed in starlight and finally accepted the undeniable truth of his identity.

A deep flush spread across her cheeks as her vampire instincts surrendered wholly to his dominance.

Rudy leaned forward and extended a welcoming hand toward the three women standing near the base of the stairs.

“Jane, Rias, Niti,” Rudy called out, his tone shifting into a warm, inviting cadence. “Come up here and join me.”

Rias did not hesitate for a fraction of a second. She bounded up the floating rocks with eager enthusiasm and threw her arms around Rudy’s neck the moment she reached the dais. Niti followed gracefully, carefully navigating the hovering stones to take her rightful place by his side.

Jane remained at the bottom for a fleeting moment, grappling with her shattered pride and her overwhelming new reality. She looked at her sister and her former maid standing beside the ruler of the universe. Gathering her courage, she lifted her chin and ascended the staircase.

She reached the top and took her place on his other side, her blue eyes shining with newfound respect and submission.

Rudy leaned back into the plush crimson velvet and sighed happily.

“This is much better,” Rudy commented, resting his head against the cushioned backrest. “The cushioning support is excellent. Now, somebody bring me that breakfast buffet.”

‘Why is he stuck on the breakfast buffet?’ Jane wondered.
