Chapter 3072 Complex
Chapter 3072 Complex
After over a century had passed, the Alchemy God and the Death God returned once again.
Steelmind had finished all the experiments he needed to do by then
and had been waiting for the two to return for quite some time.
"Are you ready?" the Alchemy God asked as soon as he arrived.
"Yes. What about you guys?" Steelmind asked.
Duskcorpse nodded. "We're ready as well."
Without wasting any time, Steelmind brought the two over to his workplace, and the three got to work.
Duskcorpse passed along the understanding of Death aura she had received with the help of the Alchemy God and the concept she had come to develop. She had managed to isolate a property of the Death aura, making what she had developed able to destroy connections instead of just mask them.
This way, she could completely sever any connection her physique had from her own body without the risk of it returning.
"I haven't asked this yet, and I don't know if you even wish for me to answer, but... how exactly are you going to sever a physique?" he asked. "So far as I can tell, it is far too intrinsically connected to a body to be just... cut off."
"We don't exactly have a way," Duskcorpse said. "But we're hoping we won't have to physically use the weapon and instead just target the physique with the weapon and our Intent."
Steelmind paused for a moment to consider her response and nodded. "That sounds like the only thing you can do."
After passing along everything she had prepared, Duskcorpse had nothing more to do. Now, all of it was in Steelmind's hands.
Steelmind would first have to understand what he was given and then turn it into a technique that could be activated through Qi-lines. It was far too complex to be done in a short time, so he would have to spend a few more years just making it.
The two gods left once more, leaving Steelmind to understand the technique. The next time they returned, he would be ready to make the scythe.
Steelmind worked hard at understanding the knowledge he was given. What free time he got was usually spent reading through reports and socializing with his subordinates for some time.
Trying to form what he was given into a usable technique through Qi-lines was such an impressively complicated task that he was struggling more than he had with any of his other requests.
Even forming a crown out of the body of a dead Primordial hadn't been this difficult.
It took centuries of slow and steady learning to finally form a very complex set of Qi-lines, and centuries more to fine-tune it to match what was required.
Nearly a millennia had passed by the time he was done, and only then did the two gods return once more.
The Death God and Alchemy God had been spending their time on the warfront, helping with the battles. The Alchemy God's name was beginning to spread like wildfire as he produced miracles after miracles with his pills everywhere he went.
His knowledge was something everyone understood to be unbeatable when it came to alchemy. And now it appeared that his skills and talent in making the pills themselves were reaching the same degree as well.
Even though Steelmind had driven himself into his task, he would still hear reports of what was happening in the war, and the Alchemy God was a very hot topic for making incredible pills that were helpful in
the war.
It wasn't so good that it was turning the tides of the war, but it had heavily reduced casualties.
The Death God's name, on the other hand, was hardly ever in the reports except for when the Alchemy God was mentioned. She always shadowed him.
After their arrival, Steelmind quickly brought them up to date on what he had been doing and what they would be needed for afterward.
As they listened, their expressions turned serious.
Steelmind gave them a few days to rest and prepare, but neither of the gods needed it, so without any further wait, they got right into it.
Steelmind explained each of their tasks again.
"I will make the scythe and add Qi-lines into it," he explained. "But because the metal will have to be melted, it will take on the property of fire and clash with the Death aura that you will try to use through the Qi-lines. As such, even as it's being melted and molded, you will need to pump it with Death aura to disperse the Fire aura. And you'll
need a lot of it as well."
Duskcorpse smiled. "Don't worry. If there's something I have to spare, it's Death aura."
Steelmind nodded. "But it will need to be attuned to the aura of
exactly what you want out of the scythe, or it might malfunction."
Duskcorpse nodded. "I can do it."
Steelmind then turned to the Alchemy God. "How hot can your
alchemy flames get?" he asked.
"Pretty hot," the man said. "Do you need me to use it?"
"If it's possible to only make it hot, without everything else it can do,
then yes," Steelmind said.
"I can do that," the Alchemy God said. "How hot do you want it to
get?"
Steelmind chuckled. "As hot as you can make it," he said. "And even then, I doubt it will be enough."
The Alchemy God raised an eyebrow. "Is it that difficult to melt it?" he
asked.
"Extremely."
After years of experimenting with the metal, Steelmind now knew
enough about it that he could turn it into whatever he wanted, albeit with a lot of difficulty, which came from the pure physical attributes
of the metal.
He brought out the half of the metal he hadn't done any experiments on and placed it at the center of a large formation.
The Alchemy God narrowed his eyes. "You're not using a forge?" he
asked.
Steelmind gave a helpless smile. "The heat we will be using would melt the forge. Speaking of which, make sure to protect yourself, as the heat we will be using will be enough to hurt a Celestial."
