Chapter 3205 A Change
Chapter 3205 A Change
Alex created the most pure Azure Dragon's bloodline he could from the tons of blood he had collected. Just as with the Black Tortoise's bloodline, this too would be more akin to the bloodline of the progenitor's children, rather than the progenitor himself.
Still, there wasn't much else Alex could do. After all, the only way for him to get the progenitor's true bloodline was to get it from the Ancestral Blood Pool, and it was more or less obvious that he would have no way of getting to it.
The only one who could be given a chance would be Pearl, but if he went there, he would likely be forced to undergo an evolution
session, which would most likely kill him as the Azure Dragon progenitor would have no way of dealing with Pearl's very unique soul.
Since he was done with the blood now, he had to start taking it.
Alex used the exact same technique he had helped Xuan Luhei and the others with, where he drained all of his blood and took in the other blood to start the process of Bloodline Consumption.
Once Alex began cultivating, his Qi quickly consumed the bloodline elements of the Azure Dragons, transferring their ability into his Blood Essence. Alex could feel his Blood Essence change as time went on, becoming more and more different from what it was before.
Within minutes, Alex began feeling a prickly feeling all over his body as if his nerves were being triggered randomly without any interference. A few more minutes later, they turned into itches that made him want to stop and scratch.
About ten minutes later, Alex felt as if his entire body was covered in pins and needles. Half an hour later, Alex felt the feeling change to pure pain.
A pain in the body and soul.
It wasn't so bad at first. Even an hour later, Alex could very easily ignore the pain considering how much worse he had to submit himself to in order to just body cultivate. And that was nowhere near the worst pain he had felt.
But the pain only increased, without ever showing a sign of stopping.
Unlike the beasts, Alex didn't have to stop to have his blood drained. As he took in the blood from one side, when the bloodline elements within it were consumed, he simply threw it out the other way.
And for a reason that was beyond Alex's understanding, his rate of bloodline improvement was much faster than any of the beasts he had helped.
A thought came to Alex, even through the pain, on whether or not this was thanks to his superior Unity. Since he was in the midst of cultivating, with his body and soul closer than ever, the changes happening within him had to be far faster than what the other beasts had gone through.
As hours passed by, the pain continued growing until it felt all-consuming. However, by then, Alex could already see clear
changes in his own bloodline. He now had what could be considered a very weak Azure Dragon's bloodline.
Funnily enough, what he had was likely already stronger than what Pearl had.
And he continued.
The physical pain was great, in a way. It helped him ignore the pain he felt mentally. It wasn't so bad as when he got rid of the Storm God's seal, but having to feel the same pain constantly for hours on end was not fun.
He would rather have the sharp but short bursts of pain that came otherwise.
Alex knew his body was fighting back. It constantly wanted him to stop and let it deal with everything that was wrong with him. But if he
let that happen, his body would burn through everything and that could not be accepted.
All Alex could do was accept the pain and hope it didn't last for much longer.
The pain did reach a plateau sometime later and stayed there for a few more hours before slowly lessening. Even as Alex continued improving the bloodline, the pain was already lessening. After a few more hours, when the pain became mild at best, Alex finally stopped. His cultivation ended and everything reached a calm. He rested for a bit, letting the last dredges of the used blood drain out of him. Once it was gone, he let his body resume its normal functions.
Instantly, blood spilled out of his marrows like a broken dam. His veins were completely filled in a matter of seconds, his heart pumping his own blood.
And now, that blood contained a certain amount of the Azure
Dragon's bloodline elements.
Alex checked for his changes, but there would be no outer changes
for him. Even when he had the White Tiger's bloodline, he had
nothing different about him on the exterior.
There was only one change that Alex knew could happen, and he immediately changed in search for that.
Alex looked at his spirit roots, and found himself smiling rather
widely. His Wood spirit root, which had always been one of the worst ones, had suddenly catapulted itself into the upper stages.
Now, it stood neck and neck with his Fire root as a very high-grade superior spirit root. His master had helped him improve it once before, and now, he had improved it once again.
Alex was disappointed that he hadn't somehow gained a Supreme-grade spirit root, but that would likely have required a highly condensed Azure Dragon's blood. He would have to go for it
later.
For now, he was satisfied with it.
Having finally completed the third and final task he needed to, Alex
started collecting his blood as he made the final preparations to turn Pearl's father's beast core into Blood Beast.
The core had been infected and filled with life aura for some time
now, and was ready and waiting to be turned. If Alex waited any longer, he would likely end up with a Sun Wraith instead, so he didn't have much time to waste.
He brought the core out from his Soul Space and got started.
