Chapter 3216 A Bloody White Tiger
Chapter 3216 A Bloody White Tiger
Jungwen, the White Tiger blood beast, came out of the Blood God's Manual and stood at Alex's side. His body was massive, bigger than even Pearl at his biggest.
"Is it time, master?" the beast asked.
Alex had no qualms with this beast calling him master. He nodded, gesturing to Tuanxi. "It won't be long before she won't be able to
handle her changes. Start attempting Soul Confluence and see if you can push her soul a little. If you can, hold back for now. Only increase your strength when she can't handle it any longer."
The beast nodded and sat down to the side with his eyes closed.
Alex watched carefully this time, focusing the majority of his attention on the very moment. Whether Soul Confluence worked or not on a blood beast would be answered now, and more than that, whether or not a Blood Beast could create Soul Confluence on a beast from its original bloodline would be known.
That was the two most important pieces of information Alex needed in order to confirm whether Pearl had a good chance at evolving through his father or not.
He had asked Pearl to come watch, but he chose not to for some reason. According to him, there was something very private about evolving that he didn't want to intrude upon. He would just wait for the result instead.
Alex let him be.
Something changed within Jungwen a while later. Alex could sense it quite acutely as the majority of his focus was on that at the moment. The rest of it was spent on making certain he kept pouring blood into Tuanxi's body as was needed.
Jungwen's aura fluctuated slightly, the red and yellow inside of his body seemingly vibrating all of a sudden.
Bai Jingshen raised his eyebrows, sensing something that Alex very vaguely managed to sense.
"It's working, I think. I can sense it clearly."
Alex frowned. He barely sensed anything at all. He knew something was happening, but there was no more information to gain from Jungwen on his side.
"What's happening?" Alex asked Jingshen.
"I can feel... not his Divine sense, but rather something touching onto Tuanxi. And whatever he is doing through that invisible touch is calming her pain a little. I can already see a drop in the number of wounds in her body."
Alex nodded quickly, realizing that Soul Confluence had worked. Now, it was just a matter of time before he saw firsthand whether it would work or not.
Tuanxi's blood could still be stronger, which was what Alex was waiting for. Around this time, the bloodline she absorbed directly began reflecting changes on her.
Tuanxi's fur began to pale in color, going from orange and spotted to a dull creamy color with fading spots. She could continue still and she would still change.
Around an hour later, Tuanxi barely had any hints of what she used to be before, her fur now becoming pure white with very few spots remaining. One could only see them if they were looking for them.
Her body had also gone through a physiological change, where she had gone from having the shape of a jaguar to that of a White Tigress. However, physical change alone didn't mean success.
Success would depend on Jungwen now.
Jungwen's eyes closed even further, folds appearing around the side of his face as he concentrated even more on Soul Confluence. He knew instinctively what he had to do, but still seemed to struggle a
little through it.
Alex checked for any signs of failure, but there were none that he could see. There was no need for Tuanxi to be rushed to the
Ancestral Pool.
The changes in Jungwen's body grew even more rapid and stronger, the red and yellow fluctuating to a point where Alex had to wonder if they were going to merge together. It took some time for Alex to come to an understanding that perhaps this was the direct effect of Soul Confluence.
Because a Blood Beast's energy was entirely in its body, Soul Confluence, which would usually show changes through one's Spiritual Sea, was now instead showing its effects through the Blood Beast's body.
Alex looked away from Jungwen and at Tuanxi. At this point, she had already absorbed all the blood he could give her. So, everything was hands-off for him now.
He stood and stepped back, watching the final few moments of the evolution process come to pass before him.
He kept a strong eye on Tuanxi's body, but never once did he need to act upon any changes. Tuanxi's snow-white body now lacked the final vestiges of her old self as the fading spots on her body were
completely gone.
Her pain diminished slowly as well, becoming weaker and weaker until there was no more. At the end of it all, Tuanxi ended up with a calm cultivation session, which the others let her be with.
Alex smiled toward Bai Jingshen. "That's a success," he said.
"It was," he said. "But we need to test a few more times. We can't be certain that this isn't a fluke."
Alex nodded. "We'll definitely have to test more than once. For now, let us be happy that we have finally learned the truth behind evolution. Isn't it big? We can help beasts evolve all on our own."
Bai Jingshen had to admit that was incredible. He looked at Tuanxi, her tigress form a lot different from what she used to look like. He sensed her bloodline and nodded.
"Her bloodline is stronger than a regular 5th Generation. She might even be a 4th Generation," he said, quite stunned.
"Do newly evolved White Tigers tend to have weaker bloodline than this?" Alex asked.
"Much weaker. You don't know just how low the threshold is for who counts as a White Tiger," Bai Jingshen said while shaking his head. Tuanxi slowly opened her eyes, staring at Alex and Bai Jingshen with a strange look on her face. She saw their glances and then looked down
at herself.
As she did, her eyes went wide in shock and joy.
"I'm a White Tiger?" she screamed. "I'm a bloody White Tiger!"
