Chapter 3262 Tongues of Flames

Chapter 3262 Tongues of Flames

Alex, Pearl, and Scarlet walked out of the poison forest in a few short minutes, as they understood there was not much time left before the trial was over.

As soon as they walked out, Alex wasted no time and immediately ran toward the edge where the two spires lay. "If this works, I'll see you two on the next island!"

Pearl and Scarlet could only stay behind and watch.

Alex arrived before the two spires: the White Spire that could be shut down to remove all requirements and suppression, and the Black Spire that could be activated to teleport directly to the next island.

Alex had no way of deactivating the White Spire-which he had wholeheartedly tried. But because Wu Tanglan had been there next to the Black Spire the whole time, he hadn't had the opportunity to test it out. At the same time, he needed to help Pearl and Scarlet reach the center before he used it.

As a result, he had to hold back until now.

But now that everything was completed, this was all that remained.

Alex flew up to the Black Spire, his body brimming with overflowing Qi from all the poison he had devoured, ready to spend it all. Like water out of an open floodgate, Qi gushed out of Alex's body, pouring into the Black Spire.

At first, nothing seemed to happen. But a moment later, as pure Yang Qi flowed into the Black Spire, it began glowing with light as the color turned, going from black to white.

The change wasn't sudden and happened over the course of an entire minute. When it finally changed, Alex didn't even have a moment to speak to Pearl and Scarlet as he was taken away.

Once the teleportation ended, Alex found himself on another island,

barren by the looks of it, with wisps of yellow flame burning all throughout. He looked around with a confused expression and noticed the platform at the center.

He thought of heading in, but he worried that he couldn't. He had to stay. It wasn't even two minutes later that he saw the poison island emerging through the thick smog, stopping when it merged next to this one.

Alex walked around the edge until he arrived at the location where the two islands met and saw Pearl and Scarlet walking around it, their eyes somewhat wide in shock.

"I'm so glad you did it!" Scarlet said with a hint of relief in her voice. "I was worried you had failed."

"I should have realized you could do that," Pearl said, shaking his head. "Your Qi can activate anything"

Alex nodded.

The master of the trial emerged again.

"Congratulations to you who used the spire to pass," the fiery bird spoke. "Much is expected of you. For this trial, only two shall pass. To pass the trial, you must walk up to fifteen of any of the tongues of flame within this island and allow them to enter your Spiritual Sea. Defeat all fifteen of the birds that manifest in your Spiritual Sea, and you can head for the next trial. Beware, they are strong enough to kill Divinities."

The bird vanished, leaving the three with looks of bewilderment.

"This... this is impossible!" Scarlet cried out. "We're supposed to fight those darn birds inside our Spiritual Sea. Why not just ask us to kill ourselves?"

Pearl frowned as well. "I've hardly ever fought anything in my Spiritual Sea. I do not think anything that can come of this trial is worth the danger that would come from accepting spiritual damage."

Scarlet nodded vehemently. She looked toward Alex. "Unless you have a way to get us past this somehow, I don't think we're going to succeed."

Alex gave the bird's words long thought, trying to see if there was a loophole within its rules that he could exploit to help them. Only, he didn't think there was any.

The mere fact that these beasts were going to fight him inside his Spiritual Sea meant that their spirit would have to be strong enough to handle his spiritual attacks. As a result, any attacks he could dish out would not matter.

The first group of fire birds were physically weak, dying to any and all attacks. The second group of fire birds were physically strong, but spiritually weak.

And it appeared the third group was spiritually strong as well.

"Maybe it is physically weak, but there's no way to exploit it. We are to willingly let it enter our Spiritual Sea. That means..."

It only meant one thing.

He turned toward the two, who looked up at him with expectant

gazes, and gave them the bad news.

"I'm sorry, but it's time to give up," he said.

Pearl's eyes drooped a little. Scarlet only nodded.

"I guess so," she said. "We did well. Better than that Wu Tanglan did.

No need to be sad about that."

Pearl nodded and smiled. "That's true. No need to be sad. We did well,

brother."

Alex blinked, staring at them with an awkward look on his face. "Umm... I'm not giving up just yet. Only you two are."

Scarlet narrowed her eyes. "What?"

"I can pass it easily.."

Pearl's eyes narrowed. "Isn't the Undying Physique particularly bad

when your spirit is wounded? And these birds are much worse as

well, right?"

Alex nodded. "Yes, but that's not what I'm going to rely on." He smiled. "Just stand by and watch. I'm built for this kind of trial."

He turned around and walked toward the closest yellow flame, sitting down before it. He opened his spiritual sense, accepting the flame. As if understanding his intention, the flame winked out of existence and reappeared within his Spiritual Sea.

Alex arrived inside his Spiritual Sea as well, the world a colorless zone of overcast sky and murky water. It was a gloomy world except for the few glowing orbs that were his Origins.

And now, there was a burning yellow color that he could see on top of the sea. The yellow flame was more than a tongue inside his Spiritual Sea, quickly becoming stronger.
