Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3349 Departure

Chapter 3349 Departure

Fairy Xin was a little surprised to hear her master's Daoist name. It was rare that anyone referred to him by anything other than his title these days.

"Do you know my master, senior?" she asked.

"Of course," the White Tiger Patriarch said. "He's well known for his ferocity. I last saw him a hundred thousand years back when we handled the treaty between the humans and demons."

Fairy Xin gave a nod of understanding.

"How is your master doing?" the White Tiger asked.

"He's been quite well," she said. "He is older, so he's leading a slower life now."

The White Tiger laughed. "It's hard to imagine someone who called himself Savagesnow leading a normal life. I'm happy for him."

Fairy Xin simply smiled, saying nothing.

"Are you with her?" the Nightshade Stork asked, pointing toward Shumi.

"Yes, I'm with..." Fairy Xin finally turned toward Shumi, having her words stuck in her throat the moment she saw her. An irresistible allure grabbed onto her, nearly forcing her to kneel. She gulped, grabbing a hold of herself.

Two of the Celestials laughed freely upon seeing Guomei's reaction.

"Do you understand what has happened to her?" the Winterborn Dragon asked.

"A little," Guomei answered. "I just... I didn't expect to feel this way."

"Who is she to you?" the Black Tortoise Celestial asked.

"My junior sister."

"Oh!" The tortoise seemed surprised. "She too is a disciple of the Glacial Blade?"

Shumi stepped out and walked up to Fairy Xin. "I must've worried you, sister," she quickly said, holding her hands. "You received my message, right? I did it. Just as you all hoped."

Fairy Xin was lost to Shumi's aura for another moment before she quickly shook her head to grab ahold of herself. "Everyone will be delighted to hear that," she said. Her eyes then turned toward Alex in the distance. She nodded slowly. "Thank you for taking care of my junior sister."

Alex smiled. "It was a pleasure, Fairy Xin."

"Did you too..."

Alex waited for her to continue speaking, but it seemed she did not wish to spell out her questions just in case.

"Did I too... become a god? Yes," Alex answered for her.

Fairy Xin raised her eyebrows. "Why don't I sense the same from you as I do from her?"

Alex shrugged. "I can't answer that. I'm too new to this, and there could be a plethora of reasons why this is happening to her and not me. Maybe it is even because we are entirely different gods."

Fairy Xin seemed to accept that response. The other Celestials didn't react much to it either, although Alex couldn't be certain if they accepted his answer or not.

"Young Alex here will be leaving with us now since we will be heading to the Twin Scar realm. We will then head over to the Land of the Blessed Sun, from where you can leave for your realms. Is that fine?" Frostsilk asked.

Fairy Xin thought for a moment and shook her head. "Our master must already be growing impatient since we've been away for so long. We can't worry him much longer."

She brought out a talisman from her Soul Space. "He gave us this for that exact reason. We were to hurry and return as quickly as we could, so we must decline your offer, senior."

"Oh."

Frostsilk was somewhat disappointed, but not enough to show it on his face.

"I see. I can only imagine how he must be feeling" the dragon said. "You should return as soon as possible."

Fairy Xin nodded. She turned toward Shumi. "Are you ready?" she asked.

Shumi hesitated. She hadn't expected her senior sister to ask her to leave so quickly. She turned around, looking toward Alex, wondering what she had left to say. She couldn't think of anything else.

Alex saw the troubled look in her eyes and smiled. "We'll meet again in the future," he said. "I promise."

Shumi calmed upon hearing that. "I'll look forward to that day. Goodbye!"

Fairy Xin appeared quite curious regarding Shumi's expressions. She

had to have changed quite a bit to be so open among others she didn't know before. She wondered what it was that had happened at the center of the Talon.

Without thinking any further though, she activated the talisman. The sky roared as a maelstrom of silver energy formed in the sky, grabbing onto Shumi and Fairy Xin.

Shumi waved goodbye one last time as the energy grabbed onto her, and in the next instant, the two of them disappeared.

The few beasts and Alex alone were left behind in the courtyard.

"Savagesnow's disciples, huh?" the White Tiger Patriarch said once the two left. "I wonder how he would feel upon learning his disciple has become a god."

The others were curious as well, but the chance that they would ever learn it was low. The Patriarch then turned toward Alex. "Do you wish

to rest, or shall we leave as well?"

Alex shrugged. "We should leave."

The Patriarch nodded.

The Nightshade Stork stayed behind, saying his goodbyes to the

group as he wouldn't be leaving. The group then headed to the closest teleportation formation, which then led them to the city in the south that was closest to the teleportation formation that would take them to the Twin Scar realm.

Frostsilk immediately had his palace guards handle the task of getting the formation to activate within the day.

The beasts working there did it in two hours when they learned that three Celestials were going to pass through there.

Alex's group stood atop the platform, along with many of the subordinates the Celestials had brought along with them, and the many other beasts that had been waiting for their time to teleport out

of this realm.

Alex watched the world again, the smog slowly clearing in the sky to

the north. The lava would cool not long from now, turning it all back

into the same dead land as before, leaving behind the shape of the

talon. What had changed forty years ago would revert to how it was, and this world would resume where it had left off.

No one would know that the trial everyone took part in was created

by the combined might of three Primordials and two gods. Three birds and two dragons.

The Trial of the Five Talons had raised a True God back and another

in the process, and those four odd decades that should have been the most important moment in all of history would instead become nothing more than a couple of footnotes, forgotten by anyone who

didn't know the whole truth.

It was a strange feeling to think about it; to think of how mundane the world would become once everything was settled.

Of course, what was mundane to him wouldn't be so to others. Everyone would return to their lives, and they would find things to

entertain themselves with.

It just wouldn't be him.

Alex doubted he would ever come back to this realm again in the

future, not until after he was done with his duties, free to roam these worlds as he wished.

That wouldn't be the case for a long time.

The formation came alive, and blinding lights covered them all. And with a flash, Alex was gone from the Sun's Talon realm.
