Chapter 3351 Rulers of the Second Scar
Chapter 3351 Rulers of the Second Scar
"The Qilin made the Second Scar?" Alex asked in surprise. He hadn't expected to learn about one of the other remaining Primordials so very soon.
"Yes. The Second Scar was formed after the Qilin died," the dragon said. "And we believe his death to be not so dissimilar to what
happened to the Flood Dragon."
"Oh? So the Second Scar holds this strange aura in the air then?" Alex asked.
"Very much so."
"I wonder why the Qilin and the Flood Dragon decided to die in this place," Alex couldn't help but wonder out loud. "What was so special about this place that they came here?"
No one really had any answers, as any answer that could exist was long since lost to time. But there were some guesses, which the Celestials relayed to Alex.
"They say that this realm used to be the home of the Qilin and the Flood Dragon. They were born in this realm, on opposite continents, and over a long period of time, they grew to become strong enough to become Primordials. In that time, they had plenty of children, which propagated throughout the land, creating dozens and dozens of bloodlines that further broke apart into many more bloodlines," the Black Tortoise Celestial answered. "Then, when they had nothing else to prove after having reached the pinnacle of cultivation, they returned to this world and stayed by their descendants. That is what everyone believes to be the truth."
Pearl and Bai Jingshen listened closely, growing curious. They had remained quiet until now, mostly because they saw no place to interrupt, but Pearl couldn't help but speak out with a curious thought this time around.
"Then does the second continent have many descendants of the Qilin right now, just like this continent?"
Frostsilk paused for a moment before giving a half-nod. "You could say that. There are certainly beasts that were descended from the Qilin, but they had so many other bloodlines mixed in them that they don't resemble one anymore. At this point, it's hard to say whether they can even be called descendants or not, considering how different they are."
"Is that so?" Alex asked. "Then I suppose the descendants of the Qilin in the Second Scar Continent got unlucky. Where your family rose to become the ruler, they vanished to time. That land is now ruled by descendants of the Headless Immortal, is it not?"
"The Whitehead Monkeys are indeed the descendants of the Headless Immortal, but they only became the rulers recently," the Celestial said. "Of course, I say recently, but it's been over a hundred thousand years since they took over the continent. Before them, however, the rulers of the Second Scar Continent did in fact happen to be descendants of the Qilin. Alas, they grew weak over time and lost their reign after a deadly and successful overthrow carried out by the Wu Clan."
Alex nodded slowly, remembering Wu Tanglan's words regarding what had happened.
"They didn't have a Celestial to fight back, did they?" he asked. "That's what I had heard. Meanwhile, the Wu Clan has at least two."
"They had a single one back then, but that alone was enough," Frostsilk said. "The Lin family that ruled was also going to gain a Celestial very soon. One of their ancestors had just called upon the Heavenly Principles and was maybe a couple of centuries away from becoming a Celestial. Alas, he was never given the chance, and the rest of the family was eradicated right after."
Alex was surprised. "And the Wu Clan received no punishment for it, did they?" he asked.
Frostsilk scoffed aloud. "Who is going to punish them? Not us. That isn't our realm, and we aren't such good friends with those Qilin descendants that we would aid them in fighting another Celestial. There is a saying, 'In a fight between Celestials, everyone else loses! This land cannot handle our battles, so we don't fight when we don't have to. Besides, might makes right in this world. The Wu Clan had the might to overthrow the old rulers, so they did. That is nothing to be punished for."
Alex didn't know what to say. The nonchalant attitude with which the dragon spoke did a lot to convey his feelings toward the death of the old rulers of the second continent. He did not care in the slightest.
So long as it wasn't his family that was hurt, he would never care.
Not long after, they passed the First Scar and arrived beyond a massive mountain range, all of which belonged to the royal family. The ship descended from the sky, and everyone got off it.
"We'll have our people prepare the teleportation formation to the Land of the Blessed Sun, but it should take some time. Meanwhile, would you like us to contact the Wu Clan about your arrival? They might want to meet you too," the dragon asked.
Alex hesitated. On one hand, he wanted to leave as soon as possible, but on the other hand, he didn't want to offend any Celestials. And
the Wu clan had two.
"It would be better to let them know of my arrival," Alex said quickly.
"If they wish to meet me, then I will visit them. But please relay the fact that I cannot stay for too long, so I will be visiting them for a few
days at best."
"That's perfectly fine," Frostsilk said, calling over a younger dragon to pass along the command. The dragon quickly left to fulfill those orders, and the group was then taken to the Winterborn Dragon's
palaces.
It was a magnificent palace built with towering metallic rocks. Spots of gold and silver flecked the sides of the palace exterior. It wasn't as
grand as the palaces of the Heavenly Beasts, but it was still better than most of what Alex had seen.
"This is incredible," Alex couldn't help but say.
"Of course," Frostsilk said with a proud smile on his face. "It was made by none other than the Architect herself."
