Chapter 3376 Superior Fire Root
Chapter 3376 Superior Fire Root
Having the blood from the ancestral bloodline pool made everything so much simpler. There was no longer any guesswork involved in figuring out which of the Bloodline Elements belonged to the Vermilion Birds, and which ones just happened to be part of the many beasts that had become part of the family through marriage in the past many hundred thousand years.
The Vermilion Birds themselves were a small enough family that it wouldn't have been as difficult for Alex had he tried, but it would have still wasted a month or two.
Now, with the progenitor's blood before him, he could be done in three days at most.
Learning the blood took Alex less than a day, as he had expected, and concentrating it took two and a half days, at which point he was done. But he didn't tell anyone he was done. He wanted to use the blood himself first before anyone else had the chance.
So, with the newly prepared blood, Alex began absorbing it into his body. Surprisingly, there was no pain or any discomfort this time around, as there had been the past four times when he had absorbed the other four different bloodlines.
'Is it because my body evolved?' Alex wondered. Did having a God grade body make things easier now? He could only imagine that was the case, which made him quite happy.
It didn't even feel like he had done anything, and yet he now had all five of the Heavenly Beast bloodlines, along with a much improved Fire spirit root.
Sadly, none of his spirit roots had evolved to the Supreme grade, which Alex now understood would take far too much to do.
His Metal root had evolved when he had consumed ten drops of Blood Essence equivalent to the progenitor's own blood essence.
His Yang root had evolved because his was the body belonging to the Sun God and he had eaten the fruit of the Nine Yang Divine Tree.
His Yin root had evolved because he consumed the Yin bead. Although, because it was in conflict with his body, it failed to become as potent as the Yang or Metal roots.
Alex had yet to consume anything on those levels for the rest of his spirit roots. As such, while they were now all in the Superior grade, none were Supreme.
Once Alex was done with the blood, he took the remaining amount and gave a portion of it to Scarlet.
Scarlet hadn't expected to receive any at all, so she was quite surprised when she did. "Should I really be getting any?" she asked.
"Your bloodline isn't as strong as the others, is it?" Alex asked. "So you should use it. It won't be enough, but it will improve your bloodline somewhat, and I can later provide you more to continue. Pearl and Whisker will help explain how you should be using it. It's quite simple."
Pearl and Whisker both knew enough about how it was done, so Scarlet didn't need him to be there for her. So, Alex left them for the moment and went to find Feng Ningzhu so he could alert the Matriarch as to what he had done.
Half a day later, they had a test prepared for him to showcase the power of the new method he had developed.
A young bird with green and red feathers, that looked closer to a crow than a phoenix, was to be the subject of this experiment. The young beast was only in the Saint realm, which was the best realm for their improvement.
Alex wasted no time and got to his task. He first bled the young bird and mixed the concentrated bloodline into that blood before sending it back into his body.
The concentration would be too strong for him otherwise, so this
method had to be used. After that, he explained the next steps to the
crow.
The crow was smart enough to understand after being told once. He quickly began taking in the blood, holding it around the intersections where his blood mixed with meridians and began the process of
Bloodline Consumption.
Slowly, his Blood Essence evolved, becoming stronger and stronger, until it was apparent to the ones standing around.
Only a session later, the Matriarch's eyes were wide in surprise.
"It's really working," she said. "In just a few hours, his bloodline is now strong enough that I could be decently hopeful that he would evolve." "Yes, but it's better if he goes through this a couple more sessions before you send him there," Alex said. "It's just safer."
The Matriarch nodded, letting him continue.
The next two sessions passed by in a flash as well, with the young crow's Vermilion Bird bloodline becoming stronger by the second. While it wasn't at the level where he could be called a Vermilion Bird still, it was most definitely strong enough that, save some unforeseen issues, he would undoubtedly pass the evolution process.
Once the crow was sent away smiling, the Matriarch turned toward
Alex.
"How did you figure out such an incredible method?" she asked. "We've known for ages that cultivating the blood of someone stronger does help, but never has it been this... efficient."
Alex shrugged. "It's something borne out of necessity," he said. "I wanted Pearl to gain his Azure Dragon bloodline that he had lost, and I had to do it in the small period of time I was to stay in this realm. So
I had no choice but to figure something out, and my obsession led to
this discovery."
Of course, some of that discovery was ultimately thanks to the Book
of Boundless Healing, but Alex wasn't going to bring that book up when there was no need.
"That's incredible," the Matriarch said slowly. "You weren't even a god when you figured it out, and yet..."
Alex smiled. "Thank you for the praise, Matriarch. If we are done here,
I would like to take my leave. I believe the Azure Dragon patriarch has
been waiting for me to visit him for a week now."
"Oh! Of course," the Matriarch quickly said. "You should leave. Thank you for everything."
