Chapter 3384 Improving Bloodline
Chapter 3384 Improving Bloodline
After saying their farewell to the few in the Black Tortoise Palace, Alex and the rest returned to the Vermilion Bird Palace once again.
There, they met up with Scarlet and Whisker, who had been working on improving Scarlet's bloodline.
Scarlet's bloodline was considered weak among the Vermilion Birds, as she was not from the main family. Since the males of their family held a weaker bloodline, her grandfather's presence in her family tree had made it so that her mother and she would be weaker.
But that was only when compared to the main family line. Compared to the other Vermilion Birds, she had a stronger bloodline. When compared to the other Heavenly Beasts, Scarlet's bloodline was no joke at all.
And even then, there was a massive gap between her and what the progenitor of their clan had. Slowly, she was now making a push for it. As a 5th Generation Vermilion Bird, Scarlet had now managed to improve her bloodline to be closer to that of the 4th Generation. If she continued, she would reach the 3rd Generation in a matter of weeks.
Alas, the issue came when she realized that she lacked a lot of blood to increase her improvement.
Alex's arrival had been timely in that sense.
"I need more blood," she said. "Can you ask the Matriarch for some more?"
Alex blinked. "Ask the Matriarch to hand me Vermilion Bird blood? How would I even go about it?"
"She does whatever you say, doesn't she? Just say you need some. I've got to increase my bloodline even more than this," she said.
Alex shook his head. "What we did was a trade. I cannot possibly ask
her for more. And she wouldn't give it to me, unless you want me to owe her something in the future."
Scarlet's face fell slightly. "Then what am I supposed to do?" she asked. "Don't tell me I'm going to have to gather my own blood, condense it, and then use it myself?"
As soon as she said as much, her eyes widened slightly. "Oh wait, I can do that, can't I?"
Alex shook his head. "Actually, no. You can't do that."
"Why not?" Scarlet asked with a frown.
"For the simple reason that your bloodline doesn't contain all the necessary Bloodline Elements that the progenitor had. You need to improve your bloodline a lot before you can possibly use your own blood as a resource."
Scarlet frowned. "Then what am I supposed to do?" she asked. "I can't use my blood, and you won't ask the Matriarch for more blood. Surely I'm not supposed to go raid the Ancestral Bloodline Pool, am I?"
Alex couldn't help but laugh. "Honestly, that's the easiest method you could use, but no. I have another method as well."
Scarlet narrowed her eyes. "What method?"
Alex stopped the Immortal Concealment technique he had been using on his blood aura and let Scarlet sense what was inside of him.
Her eyes slowly widened in surprise when she sensed not just his regular blood aura, but also the aura of the White Tiger, the Black Tortoise, the Azure Dragon, and most importantly for her, the Vermilion Bird.
"This... how do you have our bloodline?" she asked, stunned.
"I absorbed a decent chunk of the blood I got from the Matriarch," Alex said, concealing his aura again to be nothing more than a plain human. "My blood contains all the necessary Bloodline Elements for both you and Pearl. I will separate them when I have the chance later
on."
It took Scarlet a long time before she gathered her thoughts. "Right, if you have the bloodline, then you can do that. More than that, you can also continuously create blood and Bloodline Elements until you run out of Qi, can't you?"
Alex smiled. "A benefit of having the Undying Physique."
"Tsk! I need to get one as well," Scarlet said.
Alex shrugged. "Can't have it. Only one person at a time," he said, before turning toward Whisker. "Well... two, I suppose."
Whisker let out a small giggle to the side.
"You don't have enough energy to give me the physique, do you?" she
asked.
Alex shook his head. He reached out toward Scarlet and had the energy in his body give her the Undying Physique as well, but while
the energy stirred, nothing happened.
"It's not nearly enough," he said.
"I see. Then I will rely on your blood for now then," she said, before murmuring to herself in a small voice.
"I should've asked Shumi to give me the physique."
Alex could only shake his head.
"If you're done with improving your bloodline for now, it's about time
you say goodbye to your family. We should be heading over to the White Tiger Palace, and then continue west to the teleportation
formation to the human realms."
Scarlet and the other beasts around her took a deep breath.
"It's finally time, huh?" Pearl couldn't help but say.
"The human realms," Scarlet said. "This will be my first time visiting
one."
"The lower realm doesn't count?" Whisker asked.
"That was technically a Demon Realm that the humans later
occupied," Scarlet explained. "Most of the people there were hybrids, so I can't really call it a human realm. The Sacred Lotus Realm will be
my first human realm and my third Immortal realm."
Alex gave a small smile. "I should've let you out in the Twin Scar
Realm. We could've made up some lies about your feathers." "No, it was better this way," she said. "It helps keep Pearl's secret too."
She then let out a deep sigh and turned around. "I'll go speak to
Mother now. You all prepare to leave, and I'll see you in a bit."
Alex nodded.
Scarlet's farewell was a short one, mostly because this wasn't the true
farewell.
Her mother would come see her off in the west when she would
leave. Still, her mother's eyes misted, and Scarlet could hardly hold
herself back.
The two hugged each other for a long time, and only then was Scarlet's mother willing to let her go.
